morning all. an englishman walks into a bar. normally there's an irishman, a scotsman and a welshman but they're still in the rugby :-( (note only englanders are allowed to tell this very sad joke). good luck scotland.
1) took day of annual leave and went to edinburgh for the day with dd2. got 10% off with my over 50 card (first time i've used it as only launched recently) train horribly full to point even standing became a challenge. half way 'ambassador' came to let us know there was one seat. dd2 is only a size 8 so had her sitting on my lap. my baby(22 but still my baby)
2) then seat in front of us became free so dd2 went to tell chap we'd been chatting to who was going all the way to london and had hoped to work on the train. as now free seat was table seat he was very happy (and amazed we continued to share the one seat so he could have one)
3) took dd2 and dd2's bf to lunch at bar i'd spotted on way to his work. so thrilled he finally got the job he wanted (despite no encouragement from job centre) not very mse but very nice
4) then dd2 and i went to botanic gardens. Haven't been before. lovely, and there was a wedding going on. weather absolutely beautiful. dd2 staying in edinburgh for weekend. i got train back but again soooo full they couldn't serve hot drinks, so no free drink with my over 50 card :-(
5) back for book club. no sign of dogs or car. visions of them driving round dundee, one on wheel, one on pedals. book club lovely, xoh back with dogs 10:30 and realised i'd slept in. bliss. then panic i'd missed church then realised day off had made me think it's sunday.
weather gorgeous. looking forward to a day of tidying up the garden, sorting out the house then off to Otello with gbf.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

5. Big banana box full of Christmas shoe box contents ready to drop off. They've really gathered up over the weeks.
6. Finally got through to Spain and gbfs are so fine, happy etc. until usual notspot failures killed call. Upholstery business has really taken off. Post 3 times wkly, if they're lucky. Visit urged via crackles, hissing, clunks and repeats - on verra. Haven't driven that far South before. And, of course, there'll be lots on their Wanted list........... ;-)

1.I was a little off colour with things catching up to me as I relaxed so we took the morning to ourselves.
2.Both DH and I have been picking bits to deep clean each day and sticking to it to bring the house back up to scratch it feels like it’s working, today I did the mirrors and inside windows with copious amounts of distilled vinegar, but we’ve agreed to get a window cleaner for the exterior, sometimes you need a little help when neither of us does heights.
3.Washing loads done including the 3 loads of curtains, I also ran a deep cleaner through the machine as they have done something to the water around here at the moment it’s dreadful.
4.We popped to Mr T again and well the fantastic local Chinese is just around the corner and I feel we should celebrate. Some people go out drinking I’ll choose some quality food.:D
5.Remembered to take the glass and clothes recycling with us to Mr T to move it on to the heart foundation.:)
6.DH used a whole big tin of wd40 on my new cars engine to start cleaning it up and maintaining it. The car itself could really do with a deep clean.:)0 -

2. A cheeky trip to the golden arch place, starving after my toils.
3. Nice clean of my room and fresh bedclothes.
4. Very proud to have made a home made Chinese. Consisting of sweet and sour chicken balls, egg fried rice and satay chicken. Was delicious filing and costs so little.
5. A wonderful Saturday night with the family consisting of silly games and giggles Oh so many giggles. Love my family so much. They send me barmy but I cherish every second of being with them.

Bagpuss - well done on the painting.
Just popping in with a few pleasures:
1. DP's have been here all week
2. have eaten out a few times treated by DP's .... and saves on cooking and washing up
3. lots of gardening done and rubbish taken to tip which I cant manage on my own - its looking much tidier -can understand you having a gardener sparrer may have to do this myself at some point if/when DP's get less mobile. At the moment they are in their 70's and thankfully still fit and active and still have an allotment etc
4. DS finally got through all stages of application for new full time civilian job with police and has a start date in November and his shift pattern means he can still continue with special constable role :T - a further step on the career path he wants until they start recruiting full time paid police officers
5. helped DP's by getting a cheaper quote for gas & electric as their fixed tariff is ending
Its been a really hectic week will be back to work on Tuesday for a rest !

Morning everyone, some pleasures for yesterday
1. Waking up in such a beautiful setting, our cottage in the PD looks down a small valley and the colours of the trees, wow.
2. Spending hours wandering the gardens at Chatsworth, they have a sculpture exhibition on, very interesting and just as interesting was listening to what folk think of some pieces.
3. But as always my my favourite part is the kitchen garden, looking at what's growing, what companion planting is going on, my darling Grandma started her working life in the kitchen of a "big" house and this is what always fascinates me.
4. Lovely lunch out, proper HM food, not a ping in sight.
5. Glass of something bubbly in the evening with some tasty local cheese, yum.
Wishing everyone a good Sunday x0 -
DD.....a Scottish woman will walk into an Australian cafe tomorrow and hopefully will be triumphantly smug.....maybe not though ...I can dream!
So it's Sunday evening, almost time to think about bed and back to work tomorrow (blah) . I've had a much nicer Sunday than my Saturday ( work ,blah)
Nice chat with friend from home
Sorted out laundry room after a mini flood as my blooming washing machine door had to be opened with a full load as it wouldn't drain or spin....just had to let the gush of water out!
Mooch through the papers at cafe.
Home and tidy up of back garden aided by the lovely Haggis . It was pleasantly warm today , not hot but just about right for me.
Sat at garden table and read through a magazine that one of my lovely customers brought me in to work.
Had 2 lovely emails to read today which was nice and very welcome.
Have a lovely day0
