5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

-
Quick pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Sons had a nice day at school.
3) Was offered job of running gardening club at school a few weeks ago. No idea how to go about this (I am always told to do things, but never how!) Spent a bit of time this afternoon at least looking into it and my sister has offered to come and help out if things get desperate.
4) Tea at Sainsburys due to lack of time.
5) Took car in (still under warranty) so the garage can fix several faults. Got tiny weeny courtesy car - like a go kart!
6) 4 phone calls from Spanish sounding building society today. Phoned them up in my lunch hour (which I worked through anyway) and was asked identical questions as yesterday - by the same lady!!! I really despair at them. Do I have my tax credits details from years gone by? Well, no, and they would have absolutely no bearing on what I get now anyway! They are fast running out of time as I shall be in their competitor's office on Monday, tying up the loose ends as they have already agreed to a mortgage with them...
7) Enjoyed watching Hunted with sons.0 -
Almost bedtime in the land of far to much heat. Still 25o after a mid 30's day. Blah!
Stunning sunrise viewed from train
Hot air balloons passing high in the sky over work.
Work...well what can i say? It was so hot and it's done.
My husband and 3 children got their citizenship approval letters, I have not.
I spent 2 1/2 hours on the bloody phone going from 75th in the queue to being told no decision had been made on mine yet. Very disappointed .
However, I read a woman and home from cover to cover!
New chap? Well my jury is still out, I won't work with him very often , boss likes him and he pays the wages! Main colleague is not impressed and she will work with him....anyway it means I get a Sunday off occasionally!
Note to self......don't wear new work shoes for first time on an 8 hour shift on a hot day.....very sore feet
Have a good Friday
PK hugs regarding your dad. Good luck with interview.
DFV love, love, love your posts....well worth waiting for0 -
1) Another lovely sunny and warm day.
2) Beautiful perfume from the tiniest white flowers on an Eleagnus bush when I walked with Cookie this afternoon.
3) The first good night's sleep I've had for a few weeks last night, makes life so much better.
4) Making the meal plan for next week and having a very small shopping list to get as most of it is here already.
5) A friend dropped me off some roots of winter flowering Iris to go in the garden and she'd just split a plant that was overgrown and needed to re home them, Lovely!0 -
DfV - epic post ! Nice to see you back x
PK sorry to hear about your DF hope things are put in place soon for you all - hope the interview went well x

4.fantastic day at Ghe Knitting and Stitching show at Alexandra Palace.

Hey to everyone, weekend has arrived at last.
Pleasures for today
Crispy, cold morning walking the girls first thing, felt good to be wrapped up in coat and boots.
Took a trip into Ely, nice little Cathedral city, ship of the Fens, the river Cam looked lovely in the Autumn sun.
Dark, peaty soil of the ploughed fields, Earth resting for a while, makes me feel like hibernating too.
Some books you never get tired of reading, just pick them up over and over again, spent couple of hours in the world of the Larkins, never fails to cheer me up, thank you Mr Bates.
More plans to meet up with a much missed friend, it's relationships that make you happy, not things.0 -
1. The interview went incredibly well, I hear more next week.:)
2. We traveled to dads for a meeting with specialists, I spent some time just watching tv with him.
3. Ordered in pizza half price voucher.:o very lazy
4. We did more deep cleaning.
5. We are taking a “date day” tomorrow, no cleaning, no deadlines, just relaxing, pondering about talking about possibly going to “Hotel Transylvania 2”:p0 -
Phew, Friday!
PK - sorry to hear things have been difficult with your dad being poorly. Hope you enjoy date night and well done on interview.
MHags - what have you done that Australia is not quite ready for you yet? ;-)
DfV - good news re son and surgery
Pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Finally, a real improvement in tummy symptoms after the food poisoning (?) I had last week.
3) Survived a day at work that involved the cleaning up of a tiny amount of blood and a bigger amount of something (I find) slightly worse.
4) Had gardening club at lunchtime and some pupils actually turned up! And very pleasant they were too - we did a bit of weeding.
5) Courtesy car worked ok.
6) Spanish sounding bank carry on ineptly and I have yet another phone call booked with them on Monday. They haven't even decided if I can have a new mortgage with them yet!
7) Gave the garden a good weed and sweep up. Neighbour (who can be a bit prickly) liked the smell of the coriander after that was cut back a bit.
8) Bigger son off to role playing with my brother and it was smaller son's first time there - hoorah! Both enjoyed it and they are not long back home.
9) Popped to see my parents for a while. Dad not entirely well again.
10) Enjoyed the Last Leg special and Gogglebox.
11) Lots planned this weekend (odd jobs etc) so in bed now with hwb and about to listen to the Now Show or watch HIGNFY.0 -
Just in.
1. 47-9 :-)))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Much better performance, if a bit rusty still.
Great fun in The Alma tonight. Have bottles from them for near village apple juice pressing demain. Some lovely tries, but Ma'a's one on his 100th AB appearance was v.special and happily inevitable.
2. Picked up rufc lasagne bath from night shelter on way back. They really have appreciated it.
3. At red lights, suddenly thought how nice hot choc would be when back here.
It's waiting for me now:-)
4. ...along with hwb :-)
5....and 4 new library books:-)

1. Several phone calls and emails to the HA re the roof, not a sign of anyone just a lot of apologies. I'm now told someone will come and see what needs to be done by the end of next week . It was a great pleasure and most satisfying to tell them I'll be moving out until the work is completed, the pets will have to go to kennels and I'll be charging the HA for that and the hotel I'll be staying in
2. Beef bones. A bag of very meaty beef bones ys to 9p, in the sc with onions, carrots and mushrooms also ys, plus a few sad veg from the bottom of the fridge. Enough for 4/5 meals for about 70p inc jackets.
3. Cleared out the glory hole which is the small bedroom, everything boxed for the tip, cs, table top sale (tomorrow/today) and freecycle. The room looks lovely, just got to get rid of it all from the landing which is now an obstacle course
4. Watched the first and last episodes of Dr Foster this evening, I don't know what happened in between but I got the gist of it. It was interesting to see the street scenes filmed in our nearby lovely old market town
5. £12 in vouchers for doing surveys, promptly spent on C-word presents. Very OS, it cost me nothing but a few minutes of my time.
Sweet dreams0
