Good morning from Wednesday, it's a beautiful fresh morning after 3 days of intense heat. We went from 35.8o to 18o in 3 minutes late afternoon yesterday.

So day number 1 off consisted of moaning about the heat frequently .

Good catch up with friend.....so much to catch up on in just a few days.

Minimal pottering around....its tooooo hot ( read that in a very moany voice in your head)

Popped out ( in the heat.....more moaning) to pay physio for DD2 as I wouldn't be there later. Showed podiatrist receptionist the sole of my very expensive orthopaedic sandals , bought last year. There is a big split in the sole and Id told podiatrist the other week and he'd said bring them in next time and they'd take a photo and get in touch with manufacturer.

Popped in to salon to book an appointment for eyebrows to be waxed today. Laughed at my inability to put appointment on my phone and owner reminded me I'd get a text anyway !

Popped into DD1's shop to buy a couple of things and chatting with lady on till and her asking if I liked the heat. Surely it gets this hot where you're from? Let me think 35.8o in Scotland.......not that I'd ever experienced!

Then out to city at same time as DS was going in to university....so we sat together on the train. I said I don't mind if you put your headphones on as I had a magazine I wanted to read.....nah! I'm going to talk all the way there mum! So quiet boy chatted all the way to Melbourne!

My usual first port of call the cathedral. It was such a cool sanctuary to be in. There was a small group of people taking part in a service to the side of the cathedral , so I ended up listening to that. It was to commemorate the servicemen lost in Vietnam war. A naval bugler played the last post and it was all very stirring. The acoustics in cathedral were stunning. Lit my candle and off back out in to the heat.

Bought an ice lolly and sat on the steps at Federation Square. When we first came over , twice on holiday whilst OH was working here , we stayed in a city hotel and the kids and I would wander around the city when OH was at work. We usually ended up at Fed Square steps at some point of our day and would have an ice lolly ( or icy pole as they're called over here) so it was nice to do that yesterday.

Then off for a tram and then a marathon walk through hospital corridors to meet OH at clinic .....where surprise blooming surprise we waited 2 hours to be seen.....just tell us to rock up 2 hours later...we won't mind honestly!
We waited so long that I had to walk back through long corridors , wait an age for pedestrian crossing to turn to green man....pay even more for parking ticket ( which is just as well as when we came out the ticket inspector was inspecting!) then do journey through corridrs in reverse order! Meanwhile OH had been called through by junior doctor who wasn't really listening to what he was saying....so I made myself very clear!
Anyway, more biopsies ahead, she mentioned that cancer hasn't been ruled out from the area they want to biopsy and so here we go again. More emotional roller coasting! Will cross that bridge when we come to it!

So, by this time it's almost 6pm , we were supposed to be having friends over at 7pm, so we'd cancelled them whilst in consulting room as no way we were going to get back and OH would need to eat etc....so they will come next week.

Stopped at my work town on way home. Popped in and said hello to boss and then went to a lovely pizzeria. I chose a large one so I could take leftovers home for kids.....I'm nice like that! It was delicious and we were right up the back in the cooking area so I get to see all their food prep and pizza making which I enjoyed.

    Then home....at last.

On a late train home from London, won't get in till 1 but it was worth it

DD - aren't you already Dr DD? My escape plan won't help you then.....

1 been to see dad, he is doing ok and a bonus was seeing my lovely sister there.
2 fish and chips for lunch, just as well as I haven't eaten since and my stomach thinks my throats been cut
3 all that rain today and I have avoided it all
4 been to see Memphis the Musical again, it was fab, again - hence late train and hence worth it.
5 managed to read the papers I needed to for tomorrow. Also marked one dissertation and will hopefully do another shortly. I will need to work for fear of falling asleep and missing my stop

    Night night all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Hello!
Beautiful day...tad chilly and new to me wooly jumper worn ($3.20 from op shop...lovely shade of green:))

OH had day off, using up annual leaves on Wednesdays. Popped up to local cafe.free coffee with loyalty card.

I went to salon to get eyebrows, waxed, nice chats and less werewolf looking!

Dropped a pile of stuff in at salvos.

Then road trip to the lovely little town of Yea in beautiful country Victoria , we saw kangaroos a plenty and 5 wombats a sleeping! :( ( deid!)

We had planned to go to a particular cafe for lunch however it's closed down so we found another and it turned out to be a delight.
The courtyard was filled with blooming wisteria everywhere. The scent was lovely , the food was so nice and just a perfect little oasis of calm.

    Nice drive back home.

I have PTA tonight so I'm looking forward to that

    Have a happy Wednesday:)

DD yes to watching cradle to grave and enjoying it very much:)

Have some sinus pain at the moment so sleep last night was bit hard to come by so...

First pleasure was Captain Scarlet letting me sleep and taking the girls out by himself this morning, didn't get up until nearly 9, unheard of for me.

Took DM back to hospital yesterday to have monitor removed then just wait to hear results, trying not to worry as this test result of scan couple of weeks ago, not entirely succeeding on no worry front.

HA are fitting solar panels to DM's bungalow so hopefully her energy bills will drop.

Evening in by myself last night so enjoyed quiet time reading and cuddling with my girls, although little one had bit of upset tummy so loads of running to door so she could go out quickly, all fine now thank goodness.

Looking forward to my CW course tonight and discussing people's reading auto-biographies.

Hope all are well and better days are being had x
  • 1) A trip to the city this morning and starting on Christmas presents, sorry!!!

    2) Lunch at I*ea of gravid lax and brown roll and butter, delicious.

    3) A nice Cookie walk when I got back and seeing some beautiful tiny pink cyclamen that were peeping out from under a garden fence onto the footpath, so pretty.

    4) The cuppa I've just finished and I intend having another one in the very near future.

    5) It's cooler out there today, I'm about ready for it to cool down and actually be autumn, I've really enjoyed the Indian Summer but now, I want tingly nose weather when I go out in the mornings and I want to light the woodstove, please, pretty please!

    Police have just left.
    Toxic neighbour at [STRIKE]work[/STRIKE]mischief again.
Apparently called them in for 'criminal damage' and 'parking issues' and 'threats'.
Lovely young woman and chap, who said he's been before because of t.n., regretted having to bother me.
It was quite clear within a minute what will be 'in our report'.
They say I must ring 101 at all times, even for being watched on late night returns etc.
-such as this evening. Huge white van outside &squat. This time, & has reg.no. pic. on phone. Wonder if t.n. saw and shoved police again.
Van now gone, so & will re-park and post pleasures shortly.
Police want to check that there's no other biz, even minor, by tn.
I am to record every slightest thing over the month.

    1. Just parked car outside &squat :-)

    2. All the above was a surprise, as & had a B StE market day. Had decided on this to lose taste of previous incident, but it is true I am wary every time I leave or return. It's habit now. B StE and cathedral, formal gardens being cleared for winter, replanted ditto, squirrels and pigeons on &'s arms, hands, in lap, after bread and peanuts and even on edge of thermos cup to sip!!!,- counted 14 pigeons and 2 squirrels simultaneously at one point. A couple of excellent CS buys, thermos+black green tea, Marika Cobbold book to finish, aviaries to visit, showered by various seeds as trees waved about above my sheltered seat. Brilliant 49p CS buy is a hand-made pack of cards, every single one simply penned+bordered in either gold or silver on purple cards, tied with purple ribbon - love them:D, Marvellous idea, patiently executed.

    3. hwb already at work.

    4. At long long last - oldest enzed school friend's parcel sent 1/9 for birthday has arrived:T Thick end of £20 airmail postage for 34 days?
Main thing - it's arrived, she's happy and recovery continues.

    5. Car now has MOT but online taxing is proving impossible - have tried since yesterday and was doing so again when police came. Will do it in person tmrw.

vjm - thought of you when hearing Glasto tkts went in 32mins. Guessed you'd manage somehow;).
