Pleasures for today (Sunday).
1) Not a bad sleep. Caught a bit of the Archers. It's such pants these days. The ridiculous conversation between Fallon and the slimy PC - even the actors sounded incredulous!
2) 3 loads of washing done and beds changed.
3) Off to local shopping centre for eyebrow/beard disposal.
4) And haircut.
5) And new fleece pyjamas that I am modelling now!
6) Quick trip round Sainsburys.
7) Swimming with sons and my brother.
8) In bed with 2 hwb and might watch an Extra Slice.0 -
See above. Never change. Oh bullocks!
Seems the burger is the food of the future. New men at hostelry south of SparraLands has been swept off and now is burger this, burger that. Oh boy, where is the bucket. Food is this country is becoming a carp industry. No choice. Everything with battened chips. You call them triple cooked. I call them .... Ask, why is the dish served in a bowl, including breakfast. Why are chips served in a bucket. After learning aged six months to cross Suggitt's Lane crossing, when there were carriage sidings, mother BoP, gbwh, tort BoP how to use a spoon, then a knife and fork. Watching the children these days, skate food round the plate, chasing carp. Wanderfull! Nearly choked.
Now, as for menu. It has forking changed. No vegetarian dish. No decent priced dish, two for ten pounds. SparraLands, sort the shed out. I can supply the paraffin.
No pleasures, as I has raided BoPsie's purse, and secured, with very little effort, pennies, lots of, for BoP's holiday in November. And of curse, BoPsie is coming along too.
Tuck in tight, cover up, the ticks can bite!0 -
Good morning from Tuesday
Day off number 1 lies ahead.....most of it will be spent at bloody hospital.just for a change.
Anyway ..i really am grateful that we have excellent health care facilities just wish we didn't have to spend quite so much time there at the moment!
My Sunday was better than my Monday , I spent most of yesterday in a not good mood as I was rather disgruntled at work. Nothing and I mean nothing had been done in the kitchen at work. No prep had been done so I had to start from scratch whilst trying to cook for customers and I was just very crabbit! I felt I was chasing my tail all day. No ordering had been done and I just felt what was the point on having a day off when you have to work about 3 times as hard the next day. I'm not really impressed with new chappie.....was rather bossy with younger girls and apparently is going to make some changes around the place! one feels he is all talk! Boss is very much in charge of his own business, knows what he wants and whilst he does listen to others views will still do things as he wants! So will be an interesting viewing! I just want to be able to go in , do my work, make some nice cakes, chat with some nice customers , cringe with the crazy ones and come home. I do not want girls , who are all intelligent , bright young things being put in their place by this @rse of a man! Especially an @rse of a man who cannot restock a prep fridge! Moan over......I don't want to be that moaning about work person again!
Yesterday it rained.....fabulous fresh air and wet rain. Lovely after such early in the season heat.
On Sunday we went a road trip to an area of Victoria we haven't been before. As usual stunning scenery. Saw emus and kangaroos. The fields and hills are still green , they will turn brown and yellow with the sun in a month or so, so it's nice to see everything looking so fresh.
We had a massive thunderstorm just after we got home. I don't like being out in it and was grabbing washing off the line in a mad hurry!
Watched Downton with DD1 when I got in from work. DD2 who doesn't watch it came in and sat down but was told to zip up her mouth! She just chats constantly...sorry love, not whilst Downton's on! Shhhhh.
Poor DD1 fell whilst running for the train in Sunday morning, so she has 2 skint elbows and aches all over .....but the worst thing of all...was watching her tub of porridge roll on to the train track! She limped home and her mummy ran her in to work!
Well I think that's me got things off my chest! Hoping for some pleasures today, shall take a book to read on train, a quick wander over to cathedral and then hospital for rest of the day .0 -
Ooooh Mhags. Here's a special one for the limping home DD. Porage or no porridge! :heartpuls0

Quick pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son had a good week at school last week, after I was summoned on Monday :-/
3) Nothing too bad happened at work.
4) Car has been mended! It must be out of warranty within days. The garage man drove it back halfway and I waited for him on Sainsburys car park. He was quite late - and had had a puncture on the motorway! So my car has a new front tyre as well.
5) Enjoyed watching the Celebrity First Dates.0 -
Pleasures for yesterday.
1. Quiet, peaceful day spent pottering around, made a Tea Loaf to take away with us for next weekend, also finished the last of the beef toms in a batch of pasta sauce, enough for evening meal and freezer.
2. Went into horsey town for petrol, popped into the Mr T extra just opened, hmm is all can say, think prefer shopping in smaller places.
3. Enjoyed piece of flapjack catching up with recorded programmes.
4. Time spent in late afternoon sun with my horse, was colder though and could see rain coming over the fields.
5. Just got home and out in time to take the girls out before it got dark and rainy, lit candles in fireplace and had cosy eve in watching fav tv quizzes.
Wishing everyone a good day x0 -
1) Mollie the Collie is spending the day with us until next Tuesday, her gran and granddad normally have her but are out in the day until then so I have a puppy to play with indoors for a week, magic!
2) Just been for a lovely long walk with Mollie and Cookie across the common and back to the village along the lanes, nice walking weather, nice walk.
3) Met one of the Park Rangers as we left the common making a wattle fence having cleared underbrush from a sizeable area of woodland. They are planting hazels there after taking down a couple of large old silver birches that are throwing too much shade, it will be Squirrel Heaven!
4) Picked up some massive conkers on the woodland path to go in my autumn bowl.
5) Have made a big pan of butternut squash, chick pea and spinach curry for our supper tonight, just what we need as it cools down in the evening, yummy!0
