Thank you everyone for such a kind welcome-back! Feels like I never left!
Hmmm, OS pleasures for today...
1. Not having to do much cooking today, OH and I had HM beef bourguignon from the freezer with mustard mash and carrots. Tasted even better than it did when it was fresh!
2. Having a good catch-up on Facebook with an old college friend who I don't see as often as I should.
3. One of my close friend's absolutely adoring the photos OH took of her baby girl last time we visited them a few weeks ago and asking for the originals so she can distribute them to her relatives. OH was rather pleased with them as well.
4. Other close friend saw said photographs and has asked OH to be the photographer for her wedding next year! OH is rather overwhelmed, but rather looking forward to the prospect (he also has lots of time to get more practice in as he is very much an amateur photographer).
5. OH coming home from work earlier than expected *and* he's booked Tuesday off work so he can spend time with me and my best friend who is coming up to stay for a few days next week.
6. The start of a long weekend! OH and I are going to be getting lots of work done on the house and garden this weekend. We've already started by putting up some curtains our parents gave us up in the guest room ready for our visitor next week.
Hope you're all having wonderful evenings, whatever you're doing.

Niksyg, he is gorgeous!! Thank you so much.
My 5 for today:
1. Finishing work for Easter!! Yay!!!
2. Yummy homemade curry for tea tonight.
3. Unexpected visit from my brother and his girlfriend this evening.
4. More great comments about my writing. It's so encouraging.
5. Being there when my work colleague, who is about to go on maternity leave, was presented with a big bunch of flowers and some Mothercare vouchers from us all. I'll miss her, though!Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Hi all
OPPPPPSSSS I am back - honestly, only online because I was typing DH job application (cross fingers for him, people, please!) and decided to pop in quickly. Thank you everybody for your lovely wishes about my new life!
I just wanted to add a few pleasures to today:
* DD and her BF cooked dinner and it was gorgeous (pasta with very rich veg and soya mince sauce, mixed salad).
* Good friend that I had not seen for ages came along and had dinner with us.
* Friend and I against DD, DD's BF and another of their friends (a true Boffin), we won a very well fought game of Trivial Pursuits.
Off to bed now, tomorrow I am going away for the weekend with DH and another OS couple. Happy happy Easter!
BTW The Puppy is gorgeous! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Missed last night as I wasn't the world's best company, feeling sorry for myself so decided to turn out the light and hope for a better day today - which it has been
Reverbe where are you?
savingforoz the pamper day sounds wonderful, there's a Champneys 4 miles from me but I'd need to save for a year to go for a day!
Ollie sounds like your usual round of hectic goings-on, where do you get the energy to do it all?
A hamper Jex? Really? What was in it?Please the comp isn't any comp, it makes you feel better about all the effort you put in, doesn't it?
nuttybabe hope you have a good time and it's all better than you anticipate, including the weather. If it rains send them swimming, they can't complain about not going out then
Kitchenbunny pleased you found the tea bags, I think they're even better than the hot lemon drinks (and more natural). Feel better soon :A
Hi shandyclover, your calves and Herriott pleasures conjour up some lovely country images
Carolyntia - sorry. Was a bit thoughtless when you'd had such a horrible fall, and am so pleased you got the all clear
nyksig he's adorable! How lucky you are :T
Caterina congratulations on your reorganisation, and for making more time for you. Now you can spoil yourself a little and with your amazing OS ways you'll no doubt find lots of ways to do it for free:D . Good luck for your DH's job application, goodness it sounds like a new start for both of you, very exciting :j
Hi again mollythewestie, good luck on the de-clutter. I've been doing mine for months, have enough for about 2 car boot sales, and can't understand where it's all from as I only did it last year
Hi again Miss_Imaginative your beef bourguignon sounds yummy. I think a lot of dishes like that taste better after freezing
My 5 -
1. Went to bed last night after sitting on my pity pot all evening, thinking how unfair it is that it's taken 2 1/2 weeks to get the new wm plumbed in, and the pipes are leaking under the sink  Slept too heavily and woke this morning with a headache, and feeling very stupid if that's all I have to complain about
2. Went to DD's to take Easter pressies for the DGC, spent a nice long time there laughing with DGD1, fussing one of the dogs and stroking the parrot. It put everything back into perspective
3.' Had to' stop at the farm shop on the way home (it's impossible for me to drive straight past) for some cat/dog treats, and found two orange/yellow brooms and a lavender for £3 each. When it eventually stops raining I'll plant them out...
4. Did a stuffed breast of lamb in the sc, it was beautifully tender and there's still plenty for tomorrow. Love my sc
5. Canoe Man on television - amazing the lengths some will go to, to make money. He should have been told about MSE :rotfl:
Night night, (((everybody))) sweet dreams and have a Very :easter:

Thanks for all the Bodie love!!
I am up early as OH woke me at 3am with blood everywhere from his operation. I managed to clear it up and ring out of hours doc - who said that this was normal a week after the op, but seems like infection too (NORMAL???)
Bodie pup was really good last night but I had to take him at 3:15 to the doctors to pick up new meds for OH as he wouldn't settle without me. At around 5am OH is in agony with pain so took him down to doctor (with pup too) and doc checked him over and gave even more meds. I have just drawn up a medication timetable - he now has loads to take.
OH and Bodie both now sleeping whilst I can't so am on here!
My one big pleasure so far this morning - the loveliness of all you lot and your positivity and general good vibes that radiate from this thread! Reading what other people post really does feel like one of these sometimes >> :grouphug:Clearing debt to save for a simple wedding.Starting 2016 With debt of £77000 -
Good Morning Everyone-
Niksyg - What a night you had! Hope you get some rest today. Puppy is gorgeous - we have two dogglie pogglies and they are a joy (also a pain, a huge source of mess, and a reason for two walks a day every day come rain, shine, hail, snow, flu ...)
Welcome and welcome back those who are joining/rejoining. Maybe we need a 12 step programme ... I find that I am such an all or none person ... like our drink less wine campaign - I think I had 3 glasses Jan, Feb and 1/2 March then ... its been terrible. I dont mean reallt terrible but a bottle shared over each weekend. And do you know waht I didnt really even enjoy the glasses very much.
Hey ho - start again with that one....
So, more positively , yesterdays 5
1.Heard and then saw a Greater Spotted Woodpecker drumming its presence on a tree in the woods. I hear them almost every day in Spring but I think thats the first time EVER that I have seen the drumming head.
2. Made a lovely beef and ale pie - yummy
3. Made a lovely chocolate cake decorated with eggs and bunnies - double yummy
4. (left over from Wednesday evening) Ran with my friend before our class even though its was so raw that we could hardly breathe the air in for the first 1/2 mile and lost feeling in our thighs after 2 mins.... still we managed the 3 1/2 miles and felt so virtuous having done it.
5. My darling OH saying he would come running with me today (poor old chap has dodgy knees and so doesnt do much road work these days) - so I can try for a PB on my shorter circuit with him to "push" me (not literally of course this would be cheating!)
Weather is grotty for bank hol but maybe it wil brighten up for a bit so we can all get some fresh air.

Yesterday's pleasures:-
1. House cleaned all through with help from DH.
2. Took the car to the library and shops because it was raining, but DH did a Reverbe (where is Reverbe) and found a £1 on the car park floor which paid for the parking.
3. Glad we live near cheap shops £land, W!lko and the likes, it save us £££££.
4. Some good books from the library - I love the library.
5. Another frugal dinner from 4oz beef.
Wet weekend, no worries, I have my library books, my crochet and my card making, but I will even go out in the rain if anyone wants me to.
Hope everyone has a happy holidays.:EasterBun
