4. Sorting out some bits for the charity shop - and making more space
5. Getting the free dig in seeds. Now I just need sleepers and soil to make my raised bed and I'll be off planting
6. Getting a couple of wartime recipe books from the library for some ideasworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

3. Watching DS play his funny little games with his engines and cars.
4. Lazy comfort food for tea - chicken and mushroom pasty, chips and beans

Evening all, from a very weary CCP. I love doing my twice-yearly seminar at work but it always leaves me very tired and rather irritable. I wasn't helped today by a stroppy email from a colleague late in the afternoon - I couldn't think of a polite answer but could think of several impolite ones, so I decided I'd better leave before I said something I'd regret!
My five pleasures for today:
1) The seminar attendees were a lovely bunch - one gave me a thank you hug on her way out, which rather made my day.
2) We ended up with rather too much food for lunch and, despite passing it out to all and sundry, still ended up throwing some away which rather grated on my OS sensibilities. I did manage to rescue half a dozen pears, a tray of sausage rolls, a tray of onion bhajis and a large tub of mango chutney, though, which has got to be better than throwing them away.
3) Four of my camellia flowers are out, with another eight about to open - not bad for a plant that's less than a foot high.
4) Found my favourite alcoholic ginger beer on special offer when I went shopping. Even at SO prices it's not cheap, but I do love it.
5) As I'm so tired I was tempted to buy a pizza for dinner but I resisted and am about to go and put the BM on to make the dough. HM's so much nicer I don't know why I was being so lazy, really.
niksyg - I love your Bodie - he's just so cute. Thanks so much for putting up the picture.
mollythewestie - it's lovely to see you back, and back aboard the OS bandwagon.WD on your decluttering - maybe it will inspire me to start doing the same thing, which I've been putting off for some weeks.
Caterina - it's lovely to hear you sounding so happy and relaxed. Good luck with your NCDs.
katholicos - I hope your mushroom project goes well. I don't know anyone who's ever grown them so I'd love to know how you get on.
Carolyntia - I'm glad you got a clean bill of health, and just in time for an offshore trip, too.
Tealady - if you see this before you go away, I hope you have a good trip. If you don't, I hope you had a nice trip!
Have a nice evening all. If you don't hear from me again today, I've probably fallen asleep.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening, everyone. I'm tired tonight - have been all day. It's been relatively quiet here as I'm still recovering and I have rested a lot. Because of that, I've not really had many pleasures to note - however, here are the ones I have...:
1) Doing a bit of sewing. My cross stitch project is starting to take shape and I've less than a page to go before it's completed. One Christmas present ready for next year.
2) Seeing a recipe I really wanted to cook on tv. That's in my "must make list" now.
And that's it. Things should get a bit more interesting when I start doing more. I hope everyone has a lovely evening.

Trying for daily wins, and a little security in an insecure world.0 -
1) Hearing DD listening to 80's music on the radio while she was studying - she announced 'it's so much more interesting than the rubbish we have nowadays'!!!
2) A friend who bought the latest Ipod, and has to pay extra for insurance and service - complaining he has had to send it in to be fixed twice. Me thinking ...I've had my little Aldi mp3 for almost 4 years now with no problems at all - and it came with a 3 year warranty, I wonder how much money I've saved? and trying not to be smug.
3) Watching DD ride off on her bike to do volunteer work at a local nursing home.
4) Seeing a rainbow while out on my jog and remembering what my dad taught me - it's a promise God will never forsake you.
5) Hearing Mr Ireland won Mr World (I live in Ireland). No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!0 -
Hi,
Demob happy! Last day of term:j
Yesterday
1. long day at work as we have a staff meeting on weds, but still managed to get home in time to take DD to work. Won't see her 'till Monday as she is off to a swimming camp in Kent.
2. Made Tacos for tea from YS chicken, potato wedges and salad etc. Yum
3. Nice conversations with DS2 about his day at school.
4. Won Ebay auction for some aftershave for DH's birthday. :money:
5. No school work preparation as last day of term.
Today
1. Did I mention it's the last day of term?
2. Making Easter cards and decorated egg boxes with my classes today.
3. Given lovely easter eggs by some of the pupils and my TA. (I gave her some flowers as she is on a diet).
4. DH taking DS2 to Grandmas tonight, so house almost to myself apart from DS1:)
5. Starting a mental list of things I want to do over the next 2 weeks. Probably a bit boring and mundane to most people, but I am looking forward to lots of OS treats like baking and gardening:j
Have a good evening.
Just worked out how to do the Avatar thingy, Niksyg Bodie is sooooo cute!0 -

5) last day at work for a week!
6) looking forward to ringing mum over the weekend, step-dad doesn't allow evening 'phone calls which is a problem when you work full-time
Enjoy the rest of the evening."We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough
"There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women" - Madeleine Albright0 -
1. My little mathematician told me she did lots of maths today and taught me some good sums
2. £4 luncheon vouchs received from P!necone survey I'd forgotten about

8. DD is asleep in her own bed!!! WOo hoo! I wonder if she'll creep in to me, but here's hoping she has a good lie in as she's exhausted, as am I for some unknown reason....
9. The sun shone, I wonder what it'll be like tomorrow when we should be going out to the garden I won the ticket for...0 -
Evening all
Meant to be in bed by now as have to be up at 4am tomorrow!! Although dh is still working so not good!!
Mine for today
1 toddler group this morning. always fun although there was a scary moment when the support worker said she hadnt arrange the craft like she was meant to, so i found some fairy cakes cases and cut up some paper and made nests for little chicks!!
2 Got (the cheapest) beer for the caravan after spending lunch time (between toddler group and under 5's cooking) going round supermarkets. they are all close together and got some bargains and the cheapest beer!! Kids had packed lunch that I made this morning!! :rotfl:
3 Under 5's cooking! They made chocolate nests. Made loads so got a box for caravan! And kids sat quietly and coloured after making the nests so i could chat to the other mums.
4 Lots of hugs and cuddles from ds2. Since turning 2 he has got a bit of independance from me (ds1 did the same) so rarely gets proper cuddles but today thats all he wanted! Lovely!
5 Finished ironing and packing and car half packed.
Thats it for me, need sleep as i have ALOT to do when i get up. If I can get mobile mse I will post (think i need to so that I stay positive in caravan!!!), if not see you in a week!

Best of luck in the caravan, Nuttybabe.
5 for today:
1) Went to the Royal Orthopaedic (Birmingham) to have my arm prodded again. This time, they said they CAN operate! But there are risks, it might recalcify all round the joint again, I'll have a 30cm scar etc. I have to go and have the nasty nerve tests done again in 6 months and think about it. :-(
2) Sons last day at school! And their headteacher retired today so they had a fun day. He did have a little cry though. (Headteacher, not sons!)
3) Went swimming with my brother.
4) Tasty tea - made a quick chicken curry with rice and naans.
5) Little son had 2 reading books (Oxford Reading scheme magic key ones for those also listening to readers) and was supposed to finish them both by the end of Easter. He decided he wanted to read them both tonight - and he did! He even managed words like "argue" and "brilliant".
Every day there seems to be a disaster just recently. Today, coming back from the school run this morning, a massive hen pheasant flew out of a hedge, bounced off the side of my car, and smashed the mirror! *sigh*
Hope everyone has a lovely Easter weekend, by the way. Not a lot planned here, we'll be going to mum and dad's on Easter day.
