    Quite busy here.

    1) A good sleep. After 4am. :-/

    2) Car has been repaired! (Again)

    3) Stopped off for a sandwich on the way home from the garage.

    4) Opened a bank account (with card) for smaller son.

    5) Went to the library to print off our travel tickets for holiday.

    6) Sons went to their father's for a while to look at a go kart he has got them. So I cleaned, tidied, changed beds, steam mopped floors...

    7) Made a pasta bake for tea. Am trying to get it as near as possible to the bought one that they like!

    8) Went to fly the drone and play tennis with my brother.

    9) Saw one meteorite (Perseids this week) but smaller son refused to stand outside with me as it is scary (it IS very dark) but then refused to sit inside leaving me outside as that is scary too, apparently. We are going to have a campfire plus food and sit on the valley behind parents' tomorrow to have a proper look.

    10) Clue on iplayer just now.

    11) Smaller son thought he had some appalling infection following his operation but turned out it was fluff from the tracksuit trousers he was wearing!

    1. Loved listening to the rain whilst safely indoors :)

    2. We whizzed through the crossword at lunchtime.

    3. Survived my first 'fast day', not sure how many calories I had, but definitely far, far fewer than usual....Phew!

    4. Mummykins and I listened to a couple of hilarious plays on ipllayer, whilst she knitted and I planned lessons (well....DD is spending the week at sports training days so I wouldn't want to get bored, lol).

    5. The kindness of my DD, who set up my laptop to play a known soporific video clip which I'm going to listen to any moment now! I'm struggling to sleep as per blooming usual, and she played me some Mr Sagan the other night which sent me off within about 2 minutes - here's hoping Carl does the trick again......

    Night night all.

Hello from me, just done an extra shift...seemed a good idea at the time but by this morning I was a bit like 'meh' , not dreadfully busy though which suited me just fine! ( whilst I appreciate its not good for business it's nice to have a quiet day every now and again.

Well, my main news is I've just came home on the train as OH went back to work today , I've got so used to him picking me up after work. He's a lot cheerier than the people in the carriage I was in! Maybe they'd had a tough day!

One of the deputy heads at DD2's school died suddenly on Friday aged 52. He was a lovely gem of a man and inspired so many kids in the past and in the present. Yesterday the kids, teachers and past pupils turned up at school from 7.30am and all gathered for 8am and had a silent vigil. DD and I went up in the afternoon with flowers and it was an absolute sea of bouquets and messages and photos, very moving. I've never been to anything like it. They all had house assemblies and the teachers were open in their grief at the loss of a colleague and friend and knowing how much he meant to the kids. I've said it before and will no doubt say it again but I love that school!

The sun has shone for 2 days , it's nice to see a blue sky but the icy wind would cut you in two. A tiny sliver of moon shining this morning .

That's me for now, next 2 days off but tomorrow's a hospital day and a very early start.

    Have a lovely Tuesday .

    1. Went to a family BBQ on Sunday and it was fun. Lots of food and drink and played games including hide and seek, table tennis and charades.

    2. Using my greenhouse. I spend time in there pottering.

    3. Work was busy and didn't have lunch but left on time.

    4. Very little traffic.

Marge Simpson conditioner pile-up chez&hair atm, on this SpookyMensChorale day of days.

Felt shock with you, mhags, for dd2 and her school, having just chuckled at Frith's 11. Hope OH's 1st day went copably well and better than that for hospital appt.

This is our world, all of it, including AB's defeat by mhags...'timely World Cup wake-up call' is how this one's being played, apparently. Got to Alma, no sign of Life - waited a bit, saw time on notice 3hrs later than told by patron. Rtnd to &squat, JUST AS WELL!

May well go as Disinterested Person this Sat, with touch of Allez Les Bleus, however unlikely.

More crazy w/e, including the watched one - found by & on Sunday, having dragged herself outdoors, down driveway and lying there moaning, near road. & thought it was a local Raffles ancient. Wandered down lane to find and give him a smooch. We keep an eye on him as he's a slow old mover these days.

More manipulative, draining attention-seeking, but needing to accept the full-time, long-term care that saintly Dr has twice put himself on the line to secure...only to have it refused at point of admission. Person told me she had taken tabs bought online[alarming &, whose 'When was that?' was ignored], which info. I relayed exactly to 999[they know person only too well] Tablets were actually consumed a fortnight ago and, since 3/8, there have been 7 call-outs, 5 Adbkes admissions, 15 calls Saturday, 7 since 13h Sunday, then found by &... Equally Saintly paramedics arrived as darkness fell. Person wouldn't let self be moved. demanded nursing home. 'It's never been as bad as this before' - said every time. Found more throws and a pillow. & won't let self be part of ensnaring web. Vicar has altered her involvement too, while still calling in every day. Just sat with person outside for nearly 3 hrs and continued reading JG Ballard's autobiography aloud, gave water when wanted, was deaf when necessary, held hands, talked, listened, pulled person back to courtesies and realities at times, which works. Bed no longer usable. Twice daily carers' standards have collapsed, but not their fault either. Deliberate loss of bladder control indoors and where we were, hosed it down later. Hours later, as & and medics all left together, person STOOD at window, insisting & stay the night, lend her phone[so not recognised], call the Police[who recently threatened arrest for wasting police time and it was kindly done...] - - -and on and on and on it goes....
Today's mtg with ex-long hauler+night out feels like a doddle, but there are things to be discussed there too.

    1. Anyway, shortbread men out and cooling - will go in this tin to tonight's guest
2Q== which fits well with several Spooky songs.bright-side-man-tin-bstin08.jpg
    2Q==

    2. Will be wearing the spannerandthings Tool t-shirt from 1st smitten SMC experience 2 years ago already! Stay away from this embarrasment zone. You don't know me. Unfortunately young guest person has no option. Put tkts in x's name for collection, très Baldrick. Won't think about 200 miles petrol and other likely £s tonight.

    3. Lovely Miles Jupp - as we speak. Street food piece, on't'box...not.
But more yet, more long goodbye, ongoing, with Clive James at his still developing best...poetry, Life, poetry as Life and poetry for life. Found myself holding my breath at times,[very pseuds' corner]just not wanting to miss any bit of effort-heavy voice or pause. Repeats or no, don't care -

This one's beyond any A***. I do like Mariella Frostrup.

mcc - please treat yourself :-)

    5. Ben Bradshaw last night, Frith. What a stunning man! 20 yrs stable s.s. ptnrship is a bonus, to &mind. Afterwards, chatted about old mutual North Devon Journal Herald persons/employers and J.Thorpe days/times. BB is right on the money re: organisation groundwork and standards of comms[one of &'s bees in bonnet], way to retain, way of life ethos, et al. So, as many say: no obvious leader, but some top-notch deputies.
Good grief, a newbie from &benefice declared himself. Don't know him, but & heartened to know 4 certain votes exist in fens:-)

    6. Big, rowdy baptism on Sunday, 2 toddler chaps, and packed congregation of family, friends and others, each trailing at least 2/3 more in arms or pre-schoolers.
Hmmm...none of them had any home-lead clue about stillness, listening, attention span, not throwing, even in our brilliant children's area.
Drip-grazing of crisps, non-food snacks, fizzy drinks, placatories inappropriate...
Bribery has its place, but don't reward carp, once it's understood as such.

[&, just go and do last rinse of your hair and Shush.]

Vicar coped admirably, as did another often crotchety regular, age 86. She later said to Vicar during lift home, 'they're the ones we need to keep this place alive and I just turned my hearing aid off.'

    1.Another work day closer to a holiday.:D
2.I took a lunch break for once a I had errands to run one of which was to try and find a wedding guest outfit, que a rummage in the monsoon sale:o it bought up a dress heavy jersey, hung lovely showed off the right bits and hid the others.:rotfl: I got it home showed it off on and was told it looks great on keep it but… it’s not a wedding guest dress:eek:..Bahhhhh I don’t really dress up to formal… I like rather alternative styles so shopping in high street shops is a bit odd when I “have” to achieve something at the end of it. I saw a great occasion dress but that was years ago now:rotfl:. Looks like a trip to house of fraser tomorrow.
    3.Chicken and chips for tea.
4.I came home to a completely clean and tidy for us home, it’s lovely and properly done. Now I admit DH did it as we had people picking up ebay bits but it’s still lovely to come home to.:D
5.Animals playing in a box full of boxes, it’s a palace, or mansion and either way hoomans aren’t invited.:)
  • 1) a trip to the city where I found what I wanted very easily so back home by lunchtime, super!

    2) A chat with a neighbour and the offer of all her bramley windfalls to go towards the cider making.

    3) A wonderful post from my friend Candlelight to say she'd been discharged from the Oncologist today, doesn't get ANY better than that!

    4) My lovely neighbour two houses up actually wanted my runner beans, I didn't pick yesterday, I swear that plant is a triffid, it's got galloping bean pods!

    5) Just been out for supper (by out I mean actually out of the village for the first time in the 11 and a half years since we got the hound as a puppy)to a lovely pub a couple of miles away and had the best fajitas I've had in ages, yum, I'll sleep tonight!

Post lost due to trawling hotels carp Internet. If you are called Sonia and like fire, you'll get a bag load of emails. If you live in Sheffield, and I got your number bang on, you're added to a punter list. Otherwise, it's ok to talk. Update. If you're called Betty from Kingston, you are added as well, if I got your number right!

Hibernating down south. No pleasures, apart from a PM2DD Two nil. Get inn! Away from BoPsie. & Really. We have no need for tins. We have sheds. Big sheds!

After collecting foil milk bottle tops fifty years of inaction. It is time to ignore the Oxford conglomerate and time for action. Time for a new William. We rid the world, yet the African Queens husband still goes to the market!
