  • 1) Lovely weather, cooler than yesterday at 21degrees and much more comfortable, have enjoyed it much.

    2) A spur of the moment trip into the city to Ikea where they have a sale on and for just under £18 I got a clock, 6 x wine glasses, 2 x fleece throws, a dinky little folding bag (not one of the blue ones) and 6 x white bowls .

    3) Gravad Lax for lunch and free coffee!!!

    4) Found some offers on summer clothes for the little Zebra child and for £13 got him 2 x pairs of shorts, 4 x t Shirts and a pair of crock style beach shoes with dinosaurs on them.

    5) Being home again in the cool of the village and having a cuppa after a day in the bustle of the shops, utter bliss!!!

Evening all , it's Saturday night and ever so chilly, use enjoyed pizza for dinner.

Bit of a crazy day, my car wouldn't start this morning, it was 2o and I think just too cold for my wee Australian car as OH got it started later on. Went for the train but must just have missed one and had to wait 20 minutes, I was frozen!

Work was manic! I almost lost my temper a couple of times. We were so busy and I was under the pump and not getting much help! Anyway....got through it all, I've earned about $90 in commission which I will get next time I'm in and I'm off for next 3 days.

Picked up and chauffeured home and then shower and snoozette.

Quick birthday chat with friend from home.

My son has ( finally!) built my greenhouse, it's bigger than I'd thought, so I'm hoping to get my new wellies on tomorrow and do some potting up! I'd bought it a few months ago with my laundry cash stash.

Have a lovely weekend, poorly people and poorly family members get well soon.
  • It is with sincere regret, that this morning a kitchen disaster occurred. New pans, lovingly purchased by BoP, were used to make the Snorker fest for Breakfast. Unfortunately, while doing the tomatoes, an incident happened that resembles carbonisation.

BoP survived this accident, and you may be aware, he is at the inn. Wobbleades are being consumed. BoPsie is tied to the kitchen sink, frantically removing the black marks.

Some people may not be affected by this, so no counselling is available!

Back from my travels, will read and catch up but for now a quick post -

    1. Came home with a light tan, very pleased as I don't usually go darker than light beige until the end of August
    2. Brought home a new pet which the mog and dog are fascinated with. She's gorgeous but as yet unnamed as she's a tortoise made from a coconut shell so will take a bit of thought. All suggestions on a postage stamp please...
    3. I also came home with 2 extra lbs, not too bad considering the amazing food in Croatia, not least the impressive ice cream sundaes which were so inexpensive we just had to try a different variety every day
    4. While away postie brought me a full sized Burt's Bees moisturiser to trial, 2 cheques for doing surveys (1 long overdue) which will pay the grocery bill for almost a month and an invitation to Henley regatta. I was brought up in Henley and went for several years so it may be fun to go back, but we won't be stealing the crews boaters and playing Pooh sticks with them from the bridge this time :o
    5. Home. The dog and mog, my garden, my bed, being able to speak to my children whenever I want. Holidays are lovely but they do make me appreciate what I have.

    :)
  • 1) Lovely walk along the footpaths to the local greengrocers this morning, so many nice flower smells around it's like walking through a perfumery department.

    2) Lovely neighbour and her mum came round with an orchid for me to cheer me up after losing Docky, aww how nice!

    3) The smell of the fruit cake that is in the oven as I type.

    4) The dawn chorus this morning, it started to get light at 3.30ish and I'd had a sleepless night after waking up at 11.30, birdsong was so beautiful it was worth being awake for.

    5) The prospect of an early night tonight and my book to read and (hopefully) drift off and sleep.......zzzzzzzzzz

    1. Finally a bit of warmth in the air after a week of the central heating kicking in!
    2. A load of washing hanging out and another in the machine
    3. Homemade chicken chow mein - extra spicy
    4. Decluttered bedside drawers & filled a small rubbish bag
    5. Watching my two beautiful young canaries flying madly round the room and then one landing on the edge of my tray, right in front of me, for the first time!
    5. Deciding whether to have Pringles or chocolate buttons while watching the DVD now ... ...
    Looking ahead
  • Gosh, just had a great head of steam. That's far better;
