Ok. So BoP is excited about being back in SparraLands he forgot to tell you all about it.
Sits, rubs tum. Back later!0 -
I’ve not had a chance to post up pleasures as DFather is very ill in hospital which is taking all the time between work, things are a bit fraught here, I wish everything was a bit closer but all is over an hours travel in opposite directions.
But prior a lovely sat was spent:
1. We went exploring via a steam fair in Wiltshire which was a wonderful way to spend time. DH picked up a few things from the scrap dealer we know there and we relaxed ambling around.:)
2. We explored the magical area via west kennets long barrows, I’ve never visited before and it was amazing, :oDH visited when a child and said it’s a shame the place is so busy it’s ruined:( he was blessed to see it before it was a tourist attraction and now ruined by vandals where glass broke they have not replaced it so it’s hard to see in and literally busy as anything with people.
3. There were birds nesting a in the burial ceiling it was amazing to be so close.:p
4. Poppys and wild flowers surrounding us in flashes of colour.:D
5. We found another view point to stop for a mini picnic and christened our Kelly kettle for a much needed tea and coffee, then walked out to the other view point over silbury hill I was surprised it’s more of an anomaly than anything.:j
6. We pondered off to find and walk to a white horse carved in the hillside, and then started to make our way back via a roads but ended up back on the motorway after the a roads where threatening to take about 4 hours, and we got distracted exploring more places and flowers.:)
7. We picked up a Chinese takeaway and we were greeted, we had been very missed by the animals a wonderful feeling – feeling blessed.
For the past day or 2.
1. Able to work at home saving commute money today, gaining time to visit in evening, sanity from not commuting:o and a chance to actually take a lunch time, play with animals and do a half hour of gardening.
2. Place is a bit if a tip just no time between working from home and keeping sanity.
3. Popped to Costco to restock on some “proper” meat and animal cleaning bits, rather costly as we haven't been for a few months:o
4. Popped to BM and Home Bargains for bits for us and DF’s needs.
5. Reading a lovely kindle book in the tip of a house.:o, is the plan for later this evening when I get back0 -
1) A walk across the common with He Who Knows after lunch, nice under the trees in the shade but roasting hot out in the open.
2) 2 cups of tea and a homemade rock bun when we got back.
3) a lick from a very friendly labrador who came to say hello as we walked by him, gorgeous boy he was!
4) Dog roses in profusion all along the woodland path and the footpath we walked home on, every shade from pure white to deep rose pink.
5) Watching a very skillful driver raising roof timbers with a small crane onto the roof of the house being built opposite ours. It's always a pleasure to watch something being done properly by a competent person.0 -
Once a fortnight I get to walk within walking distance of home (as opposed to a 12 mile drive) so enjoyed a 45 minute lie-in! Lunchtime I came home and treated myself to toasted cheese and tea (it's a grey, miserable day so it felt "wintery" and the toasted cheese was perfect!) Finishing time I was able to get home in minutes instead of being stuck in traffic. And I managed a nap - bliss.Looking ahead0

Now I tells you lot I'd be back. So here I am. :heartpuls to the needy, PK and Mr Mhags.
Inn sparralands. No real pleasure, but a nice sided, write off, and Germanic extraction, black, broken tinted windows nicely wrecked on way home. Unknown if occupants were put down. Nice mess on the arnconing. Other vehicle, small driven by female survived. Occupant ok. Please note, BoP is known to slow twit cars considerably and without warning.
Right. Chilli was fed last eve. BoP rubs tum.0 -
Sorry to hear about your Dfather PK - hope things improve. But your travels sound lovely!
Vjsmum - it is just crazy at times - your life sounds exciting and challenging and although it sounds fantastic to be travelling to exciting places it must be hard work! (I'm stressed about going to Birmingham for a conference overnight this week!)
I was thinking about all this today when I couldn't get motivated at all. Thinking I could just not bother! Leave work, sell the house, buy something small with the equity and just do a nice part time job and claim tax credits! 5 mins of thinking like this spurred me into action and I managed to write almost 6000 words of my dissertation!!! Good thing is I have the choice thanks to my MSE mind shift! The fact that I choose to take the most difficult and stressful path is a different story!
so pleasures:
1. I have written almost 6000 words today! (well not all today but brought lots of bits together and have a clear plan so it felt like a big achievement
2. NSD and NPD! not left the house (in fact not left the study except to make food for the gang and go to the loo!)
3. Profound realisation that I quite like this crazy life! and wouldn't change it for the world (except to have enough money to pay for a gardener and cleaner)
4. Drinking a glass of my ex's fathers day wine that I got him from the kids (woops! ) he might have to make do with a card and tickets to DD3's school performance of Oliver!
5. DS got all 1's on his report in school today! Behaviour on the up again!!! thank goodness!0 -
hugs to mhags hope nasty labyrinthitis clears soon
wow singapore vjsmum you certainly get around
1) good day at work. pilot cohort started yesterday. very exciting
2) gbf wasn't in today but unexpectedly phoned me to suggest taking me to lunch at the boutique hotel which is where i used to work before the uni sold the building
3) so had packed lunch for tea and worked late. dd2 picked me up
4) then we took the boys for a long walk. i've discovered a new path
5) then we went to fetch her bf from his dad's and dad's fiancee. wedding next week. very exciting.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

PK sorry to hear that your father is unwell.
Mags wishing you a speedy recovery.
1. Caught bus to work. Reading my kindle and oblivious to the traffic jam I was stuck in for about ten minutes.
2. More decluttering - more books dropped off. DS2 sent ebay parcel off and DS1 is listing more of his stuff.
3. DS1 complaining of having no money and decided that he wouldn't buy a drink when he was out. Only taken a few years for the message to sink in!!
4. Jacket potatoes for tea easier as we all ate at different times.
5. Enjoyed watering the garden. Listening to the birds.0 -
Evening all! A mildish day but a cooler evening ...just been out with dog and brrrr!
Day off and woke up early as per usual, DD2 and I watched some catch up UK telly. She was going in to school a bit later for an exam.
Went for a bite of lunch with DD2 to local cafe, via library to donate magazines...be proud of me...I just looked but didn't take any others home! , then pharmacy to drop of prescription, which we picked up after lunch. Pumpkin tart and salad.
Flower shop for a pretty post of flowers and paid for with my commission I received yesterday from Friday's busy shift.
Home and nothing like the very short notice that some friends from Bendigo ( 2-3 hour drive away) were in town and could they pop in, to quickly tidy!
It was nice to see them, she had really extensive treatment for breast cancer in the past year and it was nice to see her looking so well. We'd caught up with him a few months ago for dinner in the city, so it was nice to see them both together.
I read for a while after they left and may have had a snoozette
Sons exams are over, DD1 is all done too, just one more for DD2 and then all done. Hurrah!
A tiny bit of karma came and bit me on the bum today! I may have sneaked out early from work yesterday after appointment was cancelled and girls were busy.....we have an 8am replacement hospital appointment in the morning....which means leaving very early!
Have a happy Wednesday0
