    1. My parents came round for a coffee and we managed to sit in the garden before it rained. They have just come back from holiday so enjoyed hearing about it.

    2. The rain then stopped so spent time in the garden. Tidied some branches DH had cut down to the bonfire and the larger ones over the fence to my neighbour. They have a wood burning stove and are happy to chop the branches/trunks for logs.

    3. DS2 helping in the garden. He does work hard. DS1 helped for a bit but then went to prepare for his interview.

    4. Lovely meal out with DH cousins. Great conversation and both son's enjoyed it so not MS.

    5. Briefly visited MIL we had invited her for meal but she said she was going out with a friend and couldn't come. She didn't go out and then complained that we hadn't picked her up to bring her to the restaurant. The pleasure was we only had half an hour of her company.

Will try and find a few pleasures , have spent weekend with labyrinthitis , again! Have been half expecting it as it's usually triggered by stress....had a bit of that lately .

Sunny days that are mildly warm, cold nights.
Weekend off work, so at least could lie down to labyrinthitis for a change.
Had visitors yesterday, our Chinese friends, they didn't stay too long which I was glad of.
Haggis dog being a most excellent source of cuddles.
Made steak pie for tea tonight, rtc meat in slow cooker, rtc parsnips.potatoes and pumpkin all roasted....some scary looking puff pastry used up from the freezer. Haggis had gravy on his dinner....he was quite delighted!

Have a good Monday, I'm back to work tomorrow , will be on the train ...for a change! Not been on the train in weeks but will be heading in to hospital after work.
  • 1) The clouds have parted and we have sunshine.

    2) The new Clangers programme starts today, I love the Clangers!!!

    3) All our hanging baskets and pots on the patio and window boxes are awash with petunias in bloom, the perfume is wonderful.

    4) Tennis on the TV ...soon be Wimbledon!

    5) strawberries from the garden with cream at lunchtime, ambrosial!

    1) picked 3 luscious strawberries from our plot.
    2) yorkshire puddings are cooking as I type although the dull day has turned into a beautiful evening.
    3) finished sewing and stuffing a bed I have made for our house rabbit.
    4) had time to continue with my crochet cardigan
    5) looking forward to swirling jam on the pancakes I make my girls for their supper - using up the yorkshire pudding mix.

A really quiet content evening :)

MHags (((Hugs))) - take care of yourself - sounds like the stress is catching up on you.

    1. garden waste loaded into my car about 10am to take to tip - the car which cost me over £400 to service on Friday - the car now displaying the warning message - "brake fluid insufficient do not proceed"

Multiple phone calls to dealer - had to call the breakdown service in the end. The breakdown man was lovely but couldn't find anything wrong - checked fluid level and he drove the car to check the brakes, but the error message did not repeat so he told me its safe to drive.

Numerous more phone calls to dealer and in the end they agreed to change break fluid for free :T (to shut me up and get rid of me I think ! )

(However they also informed me that the car should also have had a new timing belt on Friday as its the 4th service and so I need to get this done so I don't invalidate my warranty - "special price" £345  ) That'll be the rest of my emergency fund gone then :(

    2. garden waste finally taken to tip at 1pm and there was no queue at the recycling centre

    3. did my shopping on the way back and it came in under budget.

    4. cloudy morning but more washing dried in the afternoon sun

    5. scoffing all the rest of my fererro rocher :o

Mhags hope the labyrinthitis settles quickly! The stress was bound to catch up but hope you feel better soon!

Crazy week again - sometimes I would just like to get off this merry go round and other times I want to go round again faster! -can't win really!

    so pleasures:

    1. New litter of baby bunnies born - 3 or 4 I think. Its this mummy bunny's first litter so we need to be gentle with her and not stress her out - explain that to an excitable 11 year old!
    2. DS survived cadet camp (just) did end up in A&E with and injured foot but nothing broken!!!
    3. 2 days off this week - only to do work on dissertation - but nice to be off all the same!
    4. Interesting meeting today in work - lots for me to do as somehow ended up been volunteered to take the lead on a big project! but its quite exciting!
    5. Lovely day on Sat at a local food festival (spent too much though!)

Oh I know that feeling. :T  :(

    Still. Peeing down, but warm....

    Mhags - you take care

    Pleasures

1 survived Sunday night - which was such a bizarre night. Won't go into detail as it makes me sound Not Very Nice - people are very kind but sometimes you don't really want to partake in something they are honouring you with.
2 induction went well, as did interviewing prospective student
3 nice lunch, I had portobello mushroom stuffed with a quinoa and beetroot mix. Boss thinks I've lost it - he is pushing salad aside saying "I'm not a !!!!!!! rabbit" and I am eating quinoa :rotfl:
4 able to nip a potential back home work problem in the bud with a couple of quick emails. At 10.30 at night, when even boss was telling me to stop doing emails.;)
5 went to A place called Clarke Quay

    http://www.yoursingapore.com/content/traveller/en/ExecSG/nightlife-clarkequay.html

A bit like Disneyland with fewer rides and more beer
Live music was fantastic, the band were singing their hearts out to all 9 of us :p. They took requests, so like having your own private live juke box

Ah well, back to work. Three days till home :T
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Dark o'clock here. A surprisingly mild day here...I went out at 6.30am dressed like Nanook of the North and was soon regretting it!

    Train...free.
    Work....okay
Hospital appointment ...cancelled ( I was very shallow and did not tell my coworkers it was cancelled and left at the earlier time ...they were busy when I left!)
Chauffeur driven home.....by my husband! Yay! First time he's driven in 5 weeks.
We then did an aldi shop. Fridge was almost bare and freezer is full of frozen soup so really did need to buy some replacements.
Biscuits and my library book and peace and quiet...bliss.

Off out later with DD2 to her appointment ...shall sit for an hour and read.

    Happy Tuesday :)

    Hi

Not very good at posting at moment but here goes

Ampersand - I hope you are taking care of yourself

Mhagster - Hugs and positive vibes

VJsmum - I have a friend who lives in HK and he to was at the Drunken Duck on Friday, small world we live in. Safe travels.

Recent pleasures in no particular order,
    1. Day out at Regents Park Open Air Theatre to see Peter Pan with DD. It is such a magical place to see a show and yes we believe in fairies.
    2. Another London day out with OH, went up the Wellington Arch using our English Heritage cards. Glad we didn't pay as the view was a bit disappointing but was interesting to learn the history of the arch. Had a wander around Hyde Park and spent an interesting hour listening to the debating at Speakers Corner.
    3. DD is currently on crutches but hasn't broken anything. Am proud that she is determined to just get on with things though and is still going into work when she could so easily have stayed home.
    4. Volunteered for a some work in Newcastle so managed to combine with a trip to parents and work paid travel and hotel. My brother also talked me into helping him out in his bar one night so I was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar (very 80's human league).
    5. Great nephew turned one and one of my nieces is moving back to the UK soon so all good family news.

Hugs to all who need them
