Was thirty three years ago that my comrade in arms learned his brother, Skid Marks had fallen on Sir Galahad. Boys not. Men.
Some cannot grow old.0 -
Quick update for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Survived another day at work.
3) Smaller son had the most exciting day! A trip to the MAD museum in Stratford, three lunches (one made by me, sandwiches supplied by school then a sneaky trip to McDs!) then, on the way home, his taxi was stopped by the police for breaking the speed limit!
4) Went for a cup of tea with my friend after work.
5) Watched Holby City.
6) In bed with 2 hwb and Mark Steele.0 -
Grrrrr to the lost post !
It was going something like this.....
Early start as we had hospital. Taken in promptly , a couple of queries answered. See you in 3 months.
Up to speech pathology We have a lovely speech pathologist. I got a bit upset at one point and she was ever so kind. I've been a bit cry-y most of the day. This was session one of a 10 week rehab research study OH is taking part in and he/ we were asked to set goals, it just struck me that I am scared to look forward again , it's too scary at the moment, we are back to taking a day at a time, getting through that and if it's been a good one then that's a bonus, if it's been a bad one, like yesterday , then just get through it. It really upset me when OH was unwell yesterday , just reminded me that he still is very poorly.
Little snoozette when we got home.
Then a few chores to be done, boot load of work stuff in to Salvos, some more primroses bought at hardware store , medicine from chemist , bread from baker, posy of flowers from florist , turnip from veg shop, lentils from DD1's shop and then home.
Driveway swept again....tree is nearly empty of leaves. Primroses out in front porch. Lentil soup made for tea , delicious !
Back at work tomorrow ....can't be bothered at the moment but I'm sure it will be fine!
Have a good day x0 -

Thank you for DH's birthday wishes. Too many candles to fit on a cup cake.
:rotfl:
Pleasures for the last couple of days:
1) Did some running last night and a Body Balance class last night.
2) Went to watch a sort of National Theatre Live thing, but it was actually the live screening of the premiere of London Road. Very well done and even DH thought it was incredible.
3) Cuddle with the cat. DH is upset as she jumped at him earlier.
4) Bought a couple of tickets to a comedy night for a friend. Gary Delaney is coming to our little town. He's been on Mock the Week, which is enough for me to think he's worth going to see. And interestingly, he's Sarah Millican's husband.

grrrr lost post at #3. so take 2...
1) ds came home to pick up letter. turns out he's won a maths prize. proud mum
2) then into town with ds and dd2 who is determined to drag her aged mother into the 21st century. i now have an iphone 5c! PINK. first shop quoted £37 per month, 2nd shop £19.99 for 1GB, free texts and 1000 mins per month across europe. dd2 sez i got a good deal
3) then dd1 turned up. she needed ds's shoes cos she was wearing doc martens and can't drive in those. ds's feet are 2 sizes larger so she flops off to her lesson and he hobbles to a shoe shop to buy a cheap pair of shoes. dd2 and i look on in awe that we can be related to these 2!
4) then we go to the chinese buffet on city quay. they sit us at the window which looks over the water at scotland's oldest lightship and the unicorn (dundee's other ship). it was lovely even if dd2 and i could only have water with our meal (and i realise the meal is £6.50 each and my 2 glasses of red would have been £7.20!)
5) then we walked along the bank of the silvery Tay, past the Discovery, alongside the McGonagall poem carved into stone (and wonder if it was William Topaz or the stonemason who misspelled beautiful beatiful) , past the rail bridge with the sad stumps of the old bridge, across magdalen yard, and back home.
a super super day. oh and dd1 has a spare case for a c5 so another saving thereMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
