  • The show is over!

5 BoPsie was taken away yesterday with the funk of watching the Tiger Lilies live in Frithster. And a couple of wobbleades were downed as well. Now, one would think an old lay preacher would had a dizzy lizzy listening to the romantic values of the tattoed lady! And we won't mention Jimmy. and it did not rhyme with piddle! & yous not want to take your mother there!

4 Breakfast this morning BoP had, done in his new pans, dippy eggs with real butter, not that chemical plant emulsion, marmite soldiers.

3 And them new pans, quite how BoP could cook with the burnt out pans is anyones bless. Now for the tatties, carrots, door stop sized and others, for tea. With proper gravy, not that brown synthetic mess that comes from the kettle. proper stiff that has the fat in it. And it is good for you as well. Now, on the subject, we have become a nation of bad food eaters, where everything in the food factory is produced garish orange and fried!

2 Day BoP is putting his feet up.

1 Out of the top, and crushed at the bottom. One goes by land, the other hopes by sea. But the fleeing continues in the Cattle Market.

Posting from phone so this is of necessity fairly brief .
Thank you for all your pleasures which make such enjoyable reading .
    1. Watching the Derby with non-racing fan friend who really enjoyed it . She knew who Frankie Dettori was from his appearances in the media and was delighted to see him coming with a fantastic run from behind on the favourite.
    2. Passing on some unloved shampoo and conditioner to same friend.
    3. Ancestry.com had free access so I had such fun linking up records of my grandchildren's great-great grandfather, who died in WW1. I discovered he took a different middle name when he got married , luckily his wife's names were so unusual that it was definitely their marriage. By the 1911 census he had gone back to his given middle name. There's a story there somewhere!
    4. My granddaughters 14th birthday. It doesn't seem so long since my daughter being a teenager was making me feel old .
    5. Chat on the phone to friend and hopefully arranging a meet up for later in the week .
    6. Other usual pleasures : the live music club and prospect of further good music in coming weeks, riding a well serviced trike that is so much easier, my weight continues to drop a little week on week so mobility is better overall .
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
  • 1) visit to a boot fair in the sunshine this morning where there were many bargainous things to be found.

    2) 2 washloads of washing dry already!!! 3rd one nearly finished and that will go out on the line soon.

    3) Homegrown strawberry cheesecake for lunch, Oh My Goodness, so yummy!

    4) Found a rice cookery book at the boot fair, I've been looking for one for a while.

    5) A visit to the veg stall produced a lovely lemon and vanilla sponge cake which was reduced to £1, would appear to be a day of delicious sinfulness!!!
  • Now I know. Just when it is safe to sit outside, BoP comes back on, and I tell your. It has been Pan de new moan ion. This day.

5 Real peeled spuds, by BoPsue boiled in new pan. Perfect.

4 Real mush peas, from marrow fat, not Harry's, in new pan. Perfect.

3 Decent Codpiece in new frying pan, buttered, not the chemical emulsion, non Icelandic. Perfect.

2 Parsley sauce, homemade fresh, not foamed water version from kettle, in new pan. Perfect.

1 And the furred remnants of last years Xmas pudding with instant, not foamed water version from kettle, with lumps custard. In old milk pan! Perfect.

Sits on soda, feet up. Rubs tum.

    1. Trip to the tip to get rid of a carload of stuff - windows wound down and the radio playing extra loud
    2. Towels on the line and another load of washing just joined them
    3. Helped OH declutter some of his clothes (minor miracle there!)
    4. Picked up the bits and pieces for homemade chicken chow mein for dinner
    5. Finished off a bag of Th**nton's Turkish Delight - absolute favourite
    6. Contemplating a cuppa before I start prepping dinner ...
    Looking ahead

    1. All sorts brewed up to battle the bug and I have to say it’s sort of getting there it hasn’t got as bad as it normally does with the asthma. Lots of lemon, thyme, veg, and painkillers and rest.:)
    2. Popped to Lidl for bread for next week’s work sarnies, more lemons, and chicken for the animals.:p
    3. Roasted up a tiny pork joint from the freezer, with some proper roasties and veg.:)
    4. DH and I did a bit of weeding we appear to have a lot of additional visitors determined to grow, we had animal help while weeding it was lovely watching them beat us up.:)
    5. Relaxing, resting a book to hand and animals distracting, maybe some pancakes for desert.

    1. Up at sparrerfart, showered, washed hair, saved all water, got three bucketfuls for the garden. Anglian's SoLow is being phased out, not sure where that leaves us so being ultra frugal.
    2. Met DD, DSiL and friends at a local dog show. Mum Jindo took first, the pups took 2nd's in their respective classes. A great result for the pups first time in the ring, showed their socks off :T
    3. On to a meeting with friends, a super share and lots of laughter
    4. Took the dog to the dog sitter with tins of food and a chicken. The poor old boy isn't eating too well now and going quite deaf which is so confusing for him, but she's a lovely lady who will spoil him rotten and when she phoned a short while ago he was sitting in the sun with her oldie and her DH. I know he's safe with them, just wondering how much longer I'll be able to go away for breaks without him as he's getting old very quickly now.
    5. Picked up petrol using a double points voucher. In return I was given a 5x points voucher for my next shop at Mr S.
    6. Got home, mowed the lawn, watered everything, vacuumed through downstairs, fed moglet - she got chicken too - now just sitting down with a cuppa.
    And breathe....

Friends arriving from Yorks tomorrow and leaving for Stansted at silly o'clock on Tues for a few days in Croatia. Hope to get a moment to pop in but if not stay safe and well, take care :)

    Pleasures for today (Sunday):

    1) A lie in!

    2) Went to the allotment and picked 50 strawberries! Sizeable, too.

    3) Quick trip round Sainsburys.

    4) Smaller son went to the motor racing with my dad and brother.

    5) Had a tidy up and did the ironing.

    6) Had the strawberries for pudding with some cream and a slice of ginger cake.

    7) Managed to get the online banking working again. So overly complicated with its username, password AND memorable information. It has taken me a week to sort it out!
