2. DPs came down and we went to DS's attestation watched him pledge allegiance to the queen - very proud. Hes out now on his first shift
3. am getting on well with colleague who is now sat next to me after office moves. Glad to hear things have improved at work for you too villagelife
4. the pouring rain today has washed my car - and the sun was out by home time so I managed to get some washing out by 5pm and dried by 7pm as it was quite breezy

Skint - thats great news about your biopsy.
Mhags - hope today is less hassle free and you have less running around.
1. Day off - always good.
2. Had the boiler serviced and nothing needed doing to it which is good especially as its getting to that age when things may start going wrong.
3. Tidied the house. DS1 came home with some of his uni stuff but he's not home for good til end of July. We are bringing DS2 home next weekend so the house will look like a bombsight for a while.
4. Managed some gardening - hid in the shed for a couple of downpours but did pot on some cucumber and pepper plants and finished off my hanging baskets. Just need someone to hang them up now - I'm too short to reach.
5. DS1 and DS2 talking with no arguments and bickering.0 -
We're outta SparraLands! Back with BoPsie.
:heartpuls and the beat goes on!
5 BoPsie'd yestday and Raffles, king of Strut is full on. He needed feeding, big purr! Natives ok. House opposite sold cheap. Other similar on for 10% more. Bar Guns.
4 Accidently dumped £20 to my bookie. Placed pennies on T20. Donkeys turned into stallions. Took me £20 back and kerching. Please note. BoP does not condone losing your hard earned cash. There are other scams available such as a pension scheme.
3 Watched the speedway as it is a more together sport, and note the Turkeys have voted for Christmas.
2 Morning we are having BoPsie brunch. Snorkers are included. Rubs Tum!
1 You were not born into ignorance, but life. Don't sorrow it's!0 -
Not me DD, its Mhags with the dressings woes - hope you got it all sorted Mhags. I too have a dissertation to mark on the train today - as well as the 35 new exam papers.
DforV - love your boys conversations and remarks.
Pleasures for last couple
1. Last day in Ice cream town - bought a new TV stand for real home after yet another visit to Franks
2. Good drive back with DS - he is funny. Was talking about wittering females and said i turned into "Annoying Office Woman" in Franks - still working out what that mean :rotfl:
3. New TV stand looks good - wondering why we put up with hideous old one for so long. Decluttered lounge just needs one new picture then it's done
4. Still marking - but the end is in sight for this batch. 9 more that i am doing nowEdit - one more batch down :Y
5. Went to tip with old tv stand and took no longer required curtains back to Dunelms, decided they weren't quite what i need so was refunded £75
6. Fast day went ok with yummy veggie curry
7. Phone call to dad, who seemed chirpy - despite very not good diagnosis for uncle. Uncle is Dad's sister's third husband, she has already lost 2. Dad isn't especially close to uncle but is to his sister so is naturally concerned for her.
8. Watching BGT with my boy.
Have a good day all - I am going to the FA cup final having accidentally aquired a ticket.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Darn it, all this talk of marking has reminded me I have 30 literacy books sitting in the boot of the car and a set of fractions assessments to do
YUK!!!
Maybe tomorrow....I'm not back at school til Monday, after all...!
1. DD and I had a fab day out at Windsor Castle yesterday - just a shame it cost a flipping fortune to go in, and trying to find parking was a pain in the butt
2. Fun, fun, fun with DDShe lent me a fab book which her book club are reading - 8 keys - I can recommend it to all 10-44 year old girls!
3. We shared a portion of chips last night, nomnomnom. S*d the diet!
4. My staycation hostess has emailed me next week's literacy plan, yay, her turn to plan at last
5. Bought 2 fab books to help me and the class with our next topic on Vikings and Saxons, courtesy of DD's book voucher that I 'bought' off her ages ago, so it felt like they were free!0 -
BoP you're getting cheeky, there's nothing wrong with Sparralands
. Unless you stay in MK1 - 7 or LU anything, of course, they're orrible!
1. Yet another CI, the pleasure was phoning the surgery and getting meds sent within the hour. Wonderful NHS :T
2. The clothes I've put out for my holiday are all fitting much better since I've stopped trying to lose weight (and I've lost a tiny amount of weight again this week)!
3. Had a bit of a comedy with the repairs people. Reported blocked drains outside the houses in the square, they sent someone to clear the gutters. Reported it again, they said they've done it. I asked if they'd seen the 4" deep lake our cars are all sitting in?! Told me someone would be here yesterday. Still waiting at 4pm so phoned only to be told they're just closing for the weekend and will deal with it on Monday. Which is great as long as it doesn't rain over the weekend. Is it just me or do other people get a little tired of being spoken to like a dimwit when we're paying their wages? On the other hand it's lovely to see the kiddies in the square splish sploshing in the lake with their gum boots on and scooping up water to put on the shrubbery around the square. They'll miss it when it's gone
4. Another mini catastrophe this morning. I was reading how to clean a 30 year old bathtub, mixed up the ingredients and fumes filled the bathroom . Had to cover my face with a wet towel to get to the window to open it. I managed to put the solution on, left the bathroom for an hour and wore my wet mask to rinse it all off with the shower. A bit of a palaver and won't be doing that again but the bath is sparkling and the coughing might even have cleared my CI a little
5. Looking forward to a quiet evening having a long shower and pamper listening to a box of old cd's of big band sounds my late father compiled and a pot of Lady Grey.
Have a good evening0 -
MHags - glad to hear DH is getting there slowly. I have always said when you recouperate there is no place like home and your own bed to bring on a good recovery!
Tonight I am utterly jiggered :rotfl:
1. Two loads of washing on and then took the dog out for a walk.
2. Washing blowing in the breeze and it was wonderful day as well weather-wise. All dried in no time as well.
3. Made a big job of the garden this morning - weeded and trimmed the bushes as well. The blinking weeds seem to come into life every time it flipping rains!
4. Mowed the lawns after slaughtering the garden.
5. Sat and had dinner in the conservatory tonight looking out over the garden which was nice.
Had a shower as well and I really felt clean after that. Next big job on the list is to pot up the summer pots with the bedding plants. Probably do that next week. Tomorrow, I intend to take it easy. I seem to feel as I am getting older I am feeling it more now. I used to be able to zip through the gardening no problem! Getting old I guess!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

1) Morning out with the family walking round a beautiful garden with magnificent flower borders and woodland paths.
2) Lovely afternoon spent in the garden in the sun playing with my little grandson.
3) watching said grandsons face as we fed him the first of the ripe strawberries straight from the plant, delicious.
4) Wheelbarrowing said grandson round and round the garden making car noises while he chuckled with delight.
5) 5 minutes quiet to myself as said grandson is fast asleep in his cot upstairs and the others have gone to the pub while I cook supper, Mmmmmmm!0 -
A quick update while the laptop is free!
Pleasures for today:
1) A good sleep! About 11pm til 10am!
2) Did various jobs in town with smaller son.
3) Bigger son back from climbing/camping! He was away in Wales from Thursday until today with brother in law. Made it to the top of the mountain (proper mountain climbing with ropes etc) despite rain and hail. He walked past a school friend of his in Capel Curig - in fact, friend also went to primary school and nursery with him and has been for tea here once or twice. I said "Did you go over and talk to N?" "Oh no", was the reply, "I just gave him a wave" !!
4) Blackleaded the stove (I note the back cast iron panel is warped so that'll be a job for me at some point. I've already replaced all the inside parts a couple of times over the years). Also did various other jobs and second load of climbing washing is in the dryer.
5) Smaller son is out playing tennis with my brother.
6) Bigger son took to his bed for a while and had tea there as he climbed for 9 hours yesterday! He is up now to watch the Spiderman film.
7) Looking forward to Casualty later.0
