5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Good evening everyone :hello:
Frith - I'm very envious of your two strawberries! Our plants haven't offered us any fruit yet...
A busy couple of days. DH took me to a super smart restaurant yesterday as an extra to my birthday, which was in March! OS in the fact that the weekday lunch menu is cheaper than the evening menu - and he got many Avois points paying with the correct credit card!
So, the OS pleasures (the above was just a pleasure!):
1) Baked a cake for a cake sale in aid of a young local girl with a rare disease. My cake club buddies were invited to have a stall at the fundraising event and all donations went towards Phoebe's research. Obviously great to raise money, but equally as lovely to spend a good quality 4 hours with a couple of lovely cake club friends. I believe Phoebe's story is in the current issue of "Real people" magazine, which is a magazine I'd not heard of until today.
2) Sorted out under our bed. The cat has taken to hiding under there, but erm, well, it needed a jolly good dust/vac. Quite a few unwanted things have been binned and other items (3 handbags and a couple of books!) taken to the charity shop.
3) More clothes, which I was undecided what to do with, also found their way to the charity shop!
4) Found a lovely, simple recipe for sausage rolls in today's Telegraph Magazine. Mmm, now I just need the weather to be a little more picnic like!
5) When parking today I bought a ticket for all day. Upon leaving the car park, I gave my ticket to a lady who was just arriving. She offered me money for it... but I'd already got my money worth. A teensy bit of good karma was felt.
6) Planning all completed for next week. Very satisfying!

1) a sunny start. walked the dogs, finished off some smoked salmon for breakfast then rinsed 'empty' bubblebath container and got my bubbly bath - very os mse
2) went to garden centre with dd2. we bought some plants and a nice jacket for her. then we had a cup of tea and wondered why on earth we had signed up for the rnli h2o challenge. 10 days with no tea eek

Ok just a thought - if you clever academics feel pain marking the blasted masters dissertations and we poor students feel pain writing them, maybe we should just call a truce and stop hurting each other! (but I'd still like certificate just as I'm sure you would still like your pay packet!) Happy all round!!!0

Let me find some weekend pleasures , it's rather cold and chilly and wet in Melbourne this Monday morning, the first offical day of winter here.
It's been a quiet weekend , which is nice after the busyness of last few weeks.
I tidied up and enjoyed doing so.
I caught up on some UK telly.
I went to local cafe on Saturday with DD1 and enjoyed Pumpkin tart and salad.
We have a rather odd ( but hearts in the right place ) neighbour , who brought round a huge bag of lemons and trashy magazines, so I took the magazines up to library swap box and oops may have brought some others straight back out it ( but they've been perused and shall be returned today)
I made lemon cupcakes with one of the zillion lemons , so shall be kind and neighbourly and hand some in for her.
We had friends over yesterday afternoon for an hour , which really tired out OH but was lovely to see them .they brought gifts of Scottish food! ( all the way from Brisbane!)
I've made soup and then some more soup as OH can manage small amounts so freezer is full of the stuff!
My dog has been exceptionally cuddly this weekend which has been nice for both of us.
I have today off so shall do supermarket shop and hopefully another quiet day. Last day for district nurse to come in ...hurrah!
Maybe more pleasures later0 -
Monday teatime and everyone is home
Long lie for me...I'd woken up early and then dozed off again, woke at 7.45am! Yikes! Drove DD2 to school in some very scruffy clothes!
It was our coldest start to winter in decades apparently, snow in the mountains.
Took ( blushes) about 30 read magazines to swap box and borrowed 2 books from library, went to pharmacy , took hired crutches back and for some reason did not have to pay as much as I'd thought ( nowhere near as much! ) , meds not available at that time, so had to go back this afternoon and it seems we were overcharged last week so that was credited
Bread and sausage rolls bought from the bakers , primroses bought from the hardware shop for my front porch, flowers bought from florist , fruit from the green grocers , UK magazine from newsagent and in each one a warm and friendly service provided. I love our local shops.
Home and read one of my new library books, may have snoozed!
OH came a teeny tiny walk....from the back door , out the back gates and all the way to the corner and in the front gates and home! Not far but it's a start! District nurse in for last visit, so that's another thing done and dusted.
I've ordered takeaway for dinner....it's a freebie so will taste even nicer.
Back to work tomorrow but just for the morning and then off again .
Have a good Monday0
