Good Morning all  - looks like quite a promising day ahead .

Megs mum - wd on managing to keep so fit and healthy :jHScartwheel.gifgoodscales.gif.
jexygirl - sorry to hear you're having a rough time at the moment - hope all's well HSsending1_28738.gif.
emilyka - hi emily :hello: - this site and forum is very addictive - in the nicest possible way, of course ;) - I'm another who spends way to much time posting and not enough working :o.
Kittikins - what a lovely evening out for you and your DD and aren't dads great - they'll always come to the rescue :T.
wssla00 - wd on your bread making exploits and the veggie casserole in SC.
CCP - love the Google Street view - recently took a trip down the lane past where we stay on holiday - gave me 'a little fix' of the place before we actually go there in May. wd on your new deodorant trial :j.
bella - great news on the insurance payout :) - hope you enjoy your trip to see your aunt next week. I've given up buying magazines for a couple of years now - the only one's I ever get now are the freebies from Supermarkets. I really should check out others though for the occasional freebie gifts, but I just don't bother.
nuttybabe - wd to your OH for sorting your laptop and wtg on your toddler group and kiddie cookery sessions :T.
Carolynita - that's rotten news about your job - fingers crossed for you. Hope the other job works out better for you :). Enjoy your 'kitty cuddles' while cat-sitting.
Ladyhawk - wd on your presentations being well-received - hope you enjoyed your cappacino's ;). Have a safe charjet.gif to see your parents.
GirlySquare - that shredded wheat and cranberry sounds lovely , good luck with your job application and wd to your dd on her reading :T.
Tealady - wd on not being overdrawn before payday :j and wtg to your OH for fixing the HSsingshower.gif.
ACEY - wd on your meeting with the SENCo and good to know that they are being attentive to your son and his needs. wtg on your day in Ludlow and round the charity shops :j. My dgs1 has no concept of time either which causes lots of rows over getting ready for school - 'It's 8.30!' doesn't mean a thing to him rolleyes.gif.
katholicos - aaaaargh - I couldn't do your No.1 to save my life fear.gif. Of course your No.5 makes sense - we're (mostly) females on here, we understand your logic ;).
Blimus - well done on all your exercise AND on your Apple Cake .
sparrer - wd on your refund and phone bill coinciding like that AND on your freebies :T. Pity about the guy from the dating site, BUT not half a boost for the morale ;).
niksyg - Hope all goes well for your OH and how lovely for you and his mum to be able to be together at a time when you were both so concerned.
Kitchenbunny - wtg on keeping your shopping bill down despite a couple of treats in there :).
savingforoz - wd on posting Chapter 2 and the comments on it - and what a lovely unexpected pleasure to meet up with an old friend like that.

Still not got time to post my own 5 at the moment - try to get back in again later - love Ollie xxx

    Hi all

Ollie the opera (Elixir of Love) was great but unfortunately our (cheap!) tickets were for the balcony - I had never been that high up and I suffer from severe vertigo, so I spent the whole time with both my hands clinging frantically to DH, thinking that if I let go I would tumble down and meet my death, a-la-Tosca LOL

Ladyhawk, your game reminded me of when I was in a job where we would play "jargon-bingo" at meetings, a few of us would have a card with a few expressions written in and everytime someone used that expression we would tick it - the idea is that once the first card is full someone shouts BINGO! Unfortunately nobody ever did! Sentences included "thinking outside the box", "deliver", "community", "strategic" and all that sort of nonsense that people pass for "work" LOL

Here are my pleasures for the last couple of days, in no specific order:

1 - Weds. light work day, not done much as I am winding down and have a lot of hours already under my belt.

2 - Visit from friend and breakfast out (proper bakery hot cross buns).

3 - Received the special offer vouchers for massage that a friend and I are going to get, last few treats while I can still afford them

4 - Visit to student nutritional therapist, very cheap as it is a student clinic. Good, sensible advice, no gimmicky foods and minimal recommendation on supplements (I am bad at taking them!). Gave me hope to recover from my chronic indigestion and confirmed that I have lactose intolerance.

5 - First postnatal visit to mum and baby, her breastfeeding is going very well and the baby is possibly the most beautiful little boy I have had (as a client that is!).

6 - Looking forward to this afternoon's workshop to go and volunteer as an older people's advocate. Having done the mum and baby end of the spectrum I think I shall try my hand at the other end.

See you all tomorrow, have a great day xxx
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Today's pleasures:-

    1. Getting my £12 off a £60 shop from Mr. S, it included half price beef and half price leg of lamb so really feel I got value for money.

    2. Got another voucher to do the same again next week then my newly cleaned out freezers will be really well stocked.

    3. Made chocolate brownies and blueberry muffins.

That's all for today, feeling a bit jaded. Think I could do with an OS holiday.

Hi Everyone - Especially those who need a special hug - Hope things are better for Jexy and Carolynita particularly.
Odd day for me today but here is a sample of the things that brightened it
    1. First wood anemones are flowering. Beautiful blush pink.
    2. Dogs chasing round and round the garden in one direction. Stopping. Flopping down. Then racing off again in the other direction ....
    3. Made a lovely Dundee cake (well smells good - going to take it to DS and DDIL at Easter)
    4. A 5 egg day which means all the girlies are laying
    5. 9.13 this morning (didnt bother to tell you it had crept up to 10.01 in midweek OOPS)

    Have a nice weekend all.

    Stay clutter-free
No new stuff unless to replace broken items that are essential.
£2 savings pot (started Oct 09) £182 so far (£100 of which is banked)
Roadkill jar (found money) 87p and 20 eurocents

    Good evening everyone.

    Here's my five for today:

    1) It was lovely and sunny today (well, the bits when it wasn't raining, anyway!)

    2) Picked up a couple of nice summery tops in a sale, including a sparkly lilac blouse I've had my eye on for a while that was reduced from £20 to £8. :)

    3) Had a very silly afternoon at work - two people in my section are on holiday next week and their good cheer seemed to rub off on everyone.

    4) Indian fakeout tonight (what did we do before that phrase?) - RTC curry, SO garlic naan, HM veg dhal, and full price onion bhajis (well, I guess I had to pay full price for something!)

    5) The promise of a lie-in tomorrow, as I've been yawning non-stop for most of the afternoon. smiley-sleep019.gif

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

ACEY hope you feel better soon
    jexy hoping things improve
niksyg sorry you've been missing your oh, glad he's back today
nuttybabe wtg for paying off the credit cards!
Ollie thanks for your kind words

    My five for today:
    1) one from yesterday, Rhod Gilberts Work Experience, as a hairdresser and beauty therapist(!)
    2) breakfast in bed courtesy dp
    3) hugs from dd before leaving for work, team meeting all day today
    4) seeing loads of colleagues who are usually out on the road
    5) seeing another collegues baby boy, she popped in at lunchtime for an hour to see us all
    6) looking forward to watching Russell Howards Good News from last night on Sky+

Feeling down as I rose to baiting from the idiot male colleague during the team meeting, in front of senior management during a Q&A session and was told to 'take this off line'. Especially after I'd told myself to stay cool. Thankfully he is moving to a new role at the end of the month, only another week putting up with his inflated ego.

Wow nuttybabe, I love your sock monkeys, and yes, your mum's cat does like quite mouse/rabbit like, but gorgeous!! You're very talented :)

    1. Did a Reverbe and found 1p.

    2. A friend took DD to school for me this morning as she was walking past with her little one when we opened our front door.

    3. Bought v.v.v. reduced box of wine at Mr T but it WILL stay in the cupboard rather than go in the fridge. Naughty me ;)

    4. I got a 20% discount on a swanky camera!!! Naughty me, I shouldn't have bought it but I would never get a funky camera so cheaply, if the Cur&ys wasn't closing down...it ended up being £60 cheaper than J*hn Lewi$ :) When I know roughly what I'm doing, I'll give DD my current compact camera as she always wants to take pictures so we'll both be happy. Here's hoping she doesn't want to play with my new toy too much, lol.

    5. Friends rallied round and helped this afternoon when my car died on the way home from work...

    6. The garage are kindly going to lend me the courtesy car tomorrow for the weekend, even though they won't be looking at my car until Monday at the earliest, so I can get DD to her dance exam in the morning. Phew!

Feeling very GRRR at the thought of my car being broken and must remember to let the garage know that I recently had 2 out of 4 somethings replaced near the sparks (not the sparks but something else), so maybe it's the other 2....the F0rd diagnostic computer didn't find the problem last time, good old fashioned detective work saved the day then. Thankfully I do budget for car maintenance so here's hoping there'll be enough in the pot.
