Girly Square it's better to be out in the open about other jobs. And it's great it sounds like she was concerned

    OK here's mine:
    1. Getting the panny delivered and trying it out on granary which tasted delicious- even though it was a bread mix
    2. FINALLY eating something other than quavers and sandwiches. I may even try and have some tinned fruit later
    3. Getting my garden junk cleared by a freecycler who thought it was them who was getting the better deal :)
    4. Having hugs from penny pooper (my profile pic)
    5. Eating a leaf of my home grown lettuce- very nice :)

    Evening all :hello:

Will be quick this evening. I'm mentally frazzled and need some sleep.

    1) Managing to sneak in a quick trip to Mr T's this morning to get some petrol
    2) Some nice free sarnies and sausage rolls for attending an interesting presentation
    3) The presentation meant I actually got away from my screen and phone
    4) My daffodils are on the verge of flowering
    5) Nice gammon steak for dinner
    6) Having an early night

Hope you all had a good day. Take care

    5 for today!

    1) Went to college this morning and quite enjoyed it (despite it being session 2 of Loss and Grief!)

    2) Went to Sainsburys on the way home and really stocked up the cupboards and freezers. And bought some new pens, I don't know where they all go to.

    3) On the way home from Sainsburys, I pulled into the petrol station and then the man shot out and put cones behind me and all the other cars at the pumps. When I went into the cashiers, I was the very last person to get petrol before the budget price rise!

    4) Went for a walk/scooter ride to the other end of the village. It was just spitting with rain but nice to get outside.

    5) Made a pizza for tea (orange pepper and prawn) plus chips and green beans. Both sons enjoyed that.

    6) Guilty pleasure this evening - watching Road Wars with the younger cat!

Quiet day tomorrow - the only boy free and task free day for WEEKS (until after the Easter holidays!) I've got a meeting with the SENCo first thing about smaller son then I think I'll make the most of my last 5 free hours and go to Ludlow....

Evening all! My 5 for today:

    1. Seeing "The Green Zone" at the cinema, half price courtesy of Orange Wednesdays. It was much better than I was expecting.

    2. Having my annual staff appraisal at work and managing to smile and not tell them that I'll be leaving. Only six months to go...:D

    3. Delicious spicy pasta for tea - yum and double yum!

    4. Unexpectedly seeing a friend from the gym at the cinema.

    5. Confirming that Gizmo and Penny have a chance for a permanent new home - someone is coming to meet them on Saturday. As there is no chance whatsoever that he won't fall in love with them (unless he has some serious mental defect) I guess I will soon have to part with my beautiful foster cats. However, there are always cats needing foster homes so I anticipate a new furry friend arriving soon. I love cats! (well, all animals actually).

    1. Receiving my Approved Food order and it taking over an hour to put it all away...so much stuf for so little money makes me extremely happy.

    2. Put my onion and courgettes in the plastic upright greenhouse, hoping they will adjust to outdoor life okay. While i was outside i put up an enormous plastic thermometer that i bought from B & M yesterday, think it was about 89p.

    3. Putting out loads of recycling into my recycling bins. It always makes me feel good not to send stuff to landfill.

    4. Going to the Poundshop and buying some inexpensive fibre pots and some more cheap lawn edging.

    5. Picking up a copy of Alan Titchmarsh' book 'The Kitchen Gardener' for £6.00 instead of £20, from WHSmiths.

Hope you are all doing okay.

    Yesterday's pleasures:-

    1. The blossom on my Forrest Flame.

    2. DH wallpapering round the bay in our bedroom, just a patch up job where we'd had a couple of cracks, but he did it well considering that I'm usually the paperhanger.

    3. Cleaned out my second freezer, now I'm all set for my bargain top up at the weekend.

    4. New carpet laid on the landing where I'd tipped a cup of coffee. Should be an insurance job.

    5. The carpet fitter most impressed at the sight of my homemade bread.

    My five for yesterday/this morning:

    1) A nice cup of tea. It helps me wake up with a smile on my face.
    2) Thai prawn curry for tea. Or, if we feel like it, homemade pizza. :)
    3) Using my Boots coupon to get a nail varnish for £1.25, which has gone away to be a birthday pressie. :D
    4) Telilng my Mum about it, and her offering me the one she got so I can get another!
    5) Seeing some friends last night. It was great. :)

Not a lot different from usual planned for today. Got to go food shopping at some point though. :) I hope everyone has a lovely day.

Morning everybody :hello: - have missed posting for a couple of days - just busy with work etc as usual. Hope everybody is keeping fit and motivated.

fairylittle - welcome  - good to meet you. wd on making your butternut squash soup and hope you enjoy your trip to Scotland in June.
house elf - oh dear - sounds like a typical son to me ;). wd on your 'bargain trip' to Ikea but best of luck putting those wardrobes together .
Megs mum - I'm sure that it was doing 'shirts' that put me off ironing altogether - as a child I did them for my grandad and uncle; as a teenager I did family ironing including dad's shirts and school shirts/blouses for us kids and as an adult I had my ex-OH's and my kids school shirts/blouses. lol at your hens trying to get out of the hen house at the same time :rotfl:. wd on your HM pancakes using 'HM eggs' ;).
newlywed - well done on getting some useable mince - I'm sure that you'll come up with some good recipes for it :j.
Caterina - wd on your free purse from M&S - hope you enjoyed the opera and your meal out.
nuttybabe - I got one of those Jordans Bars as well :j. wtg on your dd eating all your cottage pie :T. wd on your new toddler group .
katholicos - wd on your gardening efforts :j - great progress there. Great bargain on the Alan Titchmarsh book .
niksyg - wd to your students on their turnout for the parade :T and good to hear that you've managed to improve the relationship with your colleague :).
CCP - wtg on your self-restraint over the new top :j and wd on getting into the smilies. Looks like we've all been signing up for the freebies, I got the Twinings samples as well as the Jordan's bar ;).
bella - wd on clearing your freezer and I'm sure you'll enjoy the job of buying to re-fill it again :T. wtg to your OH on his paper-hanging efforts and on getting your carpet replaced.
GirlySquare - sorry to hear you'd had a rotten day at work - HScathugs1.giffor you! Wd for having the 'honesty chat' with your boss.
ACEY - good to hear that you've got your car completely sorted now :j. Hope the college session went well. wtg on being the last car in the queue for the old price :T. Enjoy your free-day in Ludlow .
savingforoz - lol at your 'new alternative ending' to your story ;) and big hugs for Gizmo, the unwilling patient. Good Luck for Penny and Gizmo's new owner - hope the new owner meets your approval - AND theirs ;) - wonder if he's single .
Tealady - wd on your bargain trousers and lol at the 'tardis freezer'. If you're all working so hard, then you deserve 'something' from the company as a little incentive to keep the 'little grey cells' working overtime ;).
elizabunny - wtg on your freezer sort out - amazing what little treasures we unearth down in the depths isn't it ;). Good to know that people managed to get together in memory of Uncle - it's always good to catch up with them all, but such a shame that it's usually at funerals that this happens. Happened with my mum's family at her sister's funeral 2yrs ago, which is why we had the 'Big Beaneo' for her 80th a few weeks back.
sparrer - wow mobile Central Control! - ours just answers the calls and then contacts next-of-kin/emergency services/ME - they're based about six miles from us but also cover schemes on Isle of Man and as far as Southampton . When I first started there was no CC at all - if I had a rare night-out and came back to find the alarm ringing, then I had to respond - heaven help me if I was a bit 'tiddly' and heaven help them if I stayed out overnight; we also worked BH's and weekends but I did have my Relief Warden - I worked 14 Christmas Days/New Years on the run (but it WAS double time with an extra day-off in lieu :j). at your plumbing exploits and lol at the animal grooming :rotfl:.
Kittikins - wd you at getting back into the swing of your diet - good luck with it.
Kitchenbunny - :T on getting a good night's sleep - I know how draining it can be when you're insomnia.gif all night. wd on using your Boots Voucher and lovely of your mum to give you HER voucher too .
Blimus - I do envy you your trip to the Rural Museum and Farm - I love anywhere that I can get to pet/touch animals like that .
    zarazara - what a lovely morning you've had :(.
wssla00 - good to hear you're feeling a bit better and getting your appetite back again . wtg on your freecycling :T.
Carolynita - wtg on your freebie lunch at the presentation.
bunny too - wd on the hair-do at the college :j - I can see you're enjoying the 'Great Toffee Cake Recipe Hunt' ;).

At least I've managed to catch up with all your posts from the past couple of days - will pop in again later to post my own.

Have a great OS/MSE day - love Ollie xxx

Good Morning All you lovely posters - just a quick bob in.... Managed to walk the dogglie pogglies this morning before it started to rain. Amazing difference in the growth of bluebell leaves in only 24hrs. Litterally pushing the falled autumn leaves out of the way on their surge for life before the canopy closes over. Acutually rain is good stuff. Its free. It makes everything grow and today I need to be indoors (on CFR duty) (I had a "shout" the other week when I was in the fruit cage and had to run down to the house in my wellies while writing the details on my hand!!). So I have done a quick flylady and am now making cards to stock up for the next 6 birthdays - the d'room table totally covered in crafty bits! Love It!!
So here are my best 5 from yesterday
    1. Things with OH on a better footing - he is actually going to take a couple of days off so we can have a long w/end with DS DDIL and DGKS. Hate being in a funk with him
    2. Ran and exercised (and hadnt put on weight despite cheese last weekend and a fair bit of comfort eating)
    3. Nice chat with picture framing man. Turns out he is a cyclist too and we have some acquantances (sp??!!) in common. Resisted buying a hand made oak bangle that his colleague makes - so gorgeous - I love wood. I just stroked it instead....
    4. Looking pretty darn good in a skinny T shirt (for an old 'un anyway)
    5. Eating cold melon from the fridge (and it was bargain melon too)!

    What an odd list.
Back to the cards and here's hoping that no one in our area has a heart attack or stroke this morning ...
