    Evening Everyone,

Nuttybabe - Well done on paying off the credit card
Girlysquare - Don't let the idiot collegue get to you. I'm sure your bosses can see what an idiot he is as well..
Megs Mum - Mmm Dundee Cake, I have no luck with making rich fruit cakes mine always seem to turn out really dry so always impressed by someone who can make these.

    Mine for today:
    1. Eggy bread for breakfast. DD was feeling under the weather and didn't want to eat but perked up and the thought of eggy bread and managed a double portion in the end;)
    2. NSD - not had many recently but stayed in the office at lunchtime to avoid temptation.
    3. Lovely T-shirt that I had ordered and just paid P&P arrived in the post today. Much nicer than I thought it would be.
    4. Easy but tasty dinner of Spaghetti Bolognaise with HM garlic bread for dinner followed by the last of the Jelly made the other night. My DD is very strange and doesn't like Jelly.
    5. Its Friday :jlooking forward to a day out tomorrow with DD at the Ideal Home Exhibition, free tickets thanks to MSE.:money:

Hugs to all who need them

    5 for today.

    1) Went to college to have my hair cut. It was more expensive today (don't know why) so £5 something. The student kept tinkering with it but in the end the scary tutor came over and scythed her way through! It looks OK now, was getting fed up with it before. (Its incredibly fine).

    2) Helped in the school library this afternoon.

    3) My brother popped round for 5 minutes.

    4) Good telly on tonight (as my dad would say!) Have watched QI, Embarrasing Bodies and will watch Jonathan Ross.

    5) Got a date and pecan cake in the oven. :-)

Just a horrible tale to leave you with! Our dear smaller cat, who sleeps in/on our beds, gets in the bath to have a drink, climbs all over us etc was sitting in her usual place on top of the washing machine this afternoon. She jumped down and left behind her.... a WORM! Bleeurgh!! So she was wormed instantly. I haven't seen bigger cat yet but she'll be getting the same treatment when I got hold of her. Yucky poos.

    hey you guys :)
I am overwelmed by the lovely comments, thank you all so much, I am just stressed and tired, but coming here and reading everyones 5, it brightens my day :) I will be back with buisness as usual as soon as I can face it! (Oh noes I hear you cry!!!)
Welcome to all newcomers joining this great thread its lovely to read about peoples trials, tribulations, and triumphs :) and thank you to the regulars for lovely support.
I will try for 5 :) and try and get back to it as soon as I can :)

    1) My brilliant commis chef who is live in (was supposed to come here for 3 months last summer on a uni break but is still here lol) made a video about mussels! Now this may not be funny to you - its a kind of had to be there moment, but, we spent over an hour cleaning fresh mussels today, during which we discussed whether they loved, had a sense of humour, what they talked about, how they reproduced etc! (all in fun, but the usual odd conversations we have lol) and he went off during the afternoon, and made this hysterical film, (he is a PC genious and has a wicked sense of humour lol) and he made it because he knew it would make me laugh, something I havent done lately apparently :) I know you had to be there, but it made me laugh! It is appreciating that some people do the nicest things for others.

    2) the girls are SOOOO annoyed! It has rained for 4 days, and they look so wet! They are knee high in mud - if hens have knees lol! but they still greet me with the same enthusiasm, and we are up to 9 eggs a day despite the conditions! They also tell me off when i dont take enough leftovers... I cooked pasta specially today for them :D

    3) We are having staffing problems... it was only 2 weeks ago since we interviewed for 2 days solid, and I think I posted that we had the makings of a great team... famous last words. The KP got a burst stomach ulcer and is hospitalised from surgery for at least 6 weeks which meant we had to replace him (and bless him he was so lovely and i know it isnt his fault but i so wanted to help him out of his situation) one of the people we employed turned out to have an alcohol problem to the tune of half a bottle of vodka on a 6 hour shift... on day 3.... ( least we found out now, but it was one of the hardest conversations i ever had...) and one of our "long term" staff who has been with us over a year, suddenly left with zero notice... yesterday. She has had alot going on personally, and there is more to it, but as they say it never rains but pours...so with easter looming, we have only one more member of staff than we had for the whole of the winter... and 50% dont really know what they are doing yet! BUT! on the back of all that, one staff member I adored, who we sadly couldnt offer a permanent post to last year, (first in last out scenario, despite her being so good) got another job over the winter, and we offered her the opportunity to come back when we were looking again, this time for a permanent position, she declined as she had her new job, but, approached us tonight and asked if we still had a job going as she loved it so much here! YES WE DO! she has remained a regular customer before during and after we employed her which is how come it happened. Heres hoping she does come back :) Everything happens for a reason right.

    4) I managed to find time to finally re do the wedding menu and the party deal menus over the last few days, so its a relief. I imagine a bit like getting the Ironing pile cleared, if I did ironing! Put it off as long as possible, then when you actually do it, it wasnt so bad, and feels so good!

    5) I have a panel on my bottle greenhouse conversion! look!!!!
    before...
    salmon002.jpg

After! (oki so i still need to drink more diet irn bru, but I am halfway through the door now!)
    0032xj.jpg

OOOO and... I took the washing machine and dryer to the tip (yep, they both conked out at the same time, as has the ice machine, and also today the boiler... tho the boiler OH managed to kick start after 5 hours of trial repairs, should get us through till monday when he can do more he hopes that will sort it...) and whilst there, I got a new wheel barrow for £5! (as you can see from the before pic, I needed one!)
The tip guys just wanted "a few quid towards the tea fund" and when I took them £5 he wanted to give me change, I just said nope, its saved me a fortune, and they owe me a kiss at christmas :D:D:D

Now then see.... I need to make myself write pleasures atm, I feel loads better for it :). I love replying to everyone tho, and I promise I am reading, but I just want to be lazy and hide from the world right now!
I also know mine arent technically OS ones, but they are things that make stuff seem less bad so it counts by default! (awesome english there jex!) Sorry for moaning, I know I am better off than many, but you know what its like when you see the light at the end of the tunnel, then some beggar turns it off!

Thanks for the support guys, and normal service will resume asap :)

I suppose there were some good moments yesterday, but given that at this precise moment I am feeling guilty at having kept DH up most of the night again with my coughing it is difficult to focus. Here are the good moments from yesterday.

    1) Being treated to a bacon and sausage baguette.
    2) Spending a nice afternoon chatting about things.
    3) Homemade pizza.

That's about it. Have a good day everyone.

Jexy, you won a hamper? I wouldn't have guessed! :rotfl:Congrats again. I've never heard of a bottle greenhouse, looks amazing, and all for the price of Irn Bru? I could cope with that, will have to google it..
Manic day here, started at 7am after finishing at 1am...why am I doing this? (Because I love it and feel honoured at being asked) A buffet at 1pm for now 28, the numbers go up daily , done the chilli and jackets, the Coronation chicken with multi coloured pilau rice, the crispy duck rolls and the puds, just got the salmon, the salads and picky bits to do then transport it all 3 miles over speed bumps, unless I go the other way and over the very steep hump back bridge!

Have a good weekend (((everyone )))and extras for (((the poorlies)))

Hey, our Jexygirl is back! Lovely to see you again x

    My 5 for yesterday:

    1. Short day at work - we leave at 4 and I was out at clients for most of the morning, so not much time actually spent in work. And when I was actually at my desk, I got plenty done. :j

    2. Tried the idea of a "soup night" which some other OSers have recommended - it worked really well and I'd do it again.

    3. Catching up with new season NCIS and The Mentalist on TV. :D

    4. Lots more lovely comments about Chapter 3 of my story, people adding me as a favourite author, subscribing to the story, etc. Although I'm still reworking the ending! :rotfl:

    5. Taking Gizmo to the vet and him being a good boy again, and the vet confirming that his poorly eye is all better now. Making pinning him down twice a day to squirt ointment in there all worthwhile! He was not a willing participant in the whole affair, bless him. He's a sweetie-pie and I rather like him...:iloveyou:

Right well now I'm over the intial shock at being put at risk I'm feeling a lot better. More annoyed now as I was at risk last year and that should've been the end of it. Ho hum.....anyway I've been busy looking for another job. I won't let the !!!!!!!s get me down

    1) Lots of cat cuddles last night and this morning :D
    2) Been to Makro and stocked up on cheap wine....retails at £5.99 in Mr T's got it for £4 after tax. Also stocked up on kitchen roll
    3) Checking my stock of toilet roll, washing up liquid, washing powder etc and finding I will be fine for absolutely ages and ages. If I actually ever need to buy them again :o
    4) Going out with my friend and her husband tonight

    6) The back garden ducks giving me a warm welcome when I popped in to drop off the wine
    7) Lovely sunny day here
    8) Finding quite a few suitable jobs to apply for
    9) Checking the money situation and realising I've got quite a good cushion and should be fine for quite a while if I am made redundant :j

Hope everyone's ok. Have a good weekend and don't forget to put your clocks forward tonight

    Take care C x

Hi all, sorry been hectic so not posted but have been reading....

    1. Finally getting a response to all the job apps. A "specialist" recruitment agency rang and invited me to come register with them. So my CV must be ok! :T

    2. They also arranged for me to have an interview - on Monday - GULP!!! :j:eek::j:eek:

    3. They gave me some interview tips for Monday (haven't had a proper formal interview in 10 years!!! _pale__pale__pale__pale__pale__pale__pale__pale__pale__pale__pale__pale__pale__pale__pale__pale__pale__pale__pale__pale__pale__pale_)

    4. Using the CV tips they gave me to rearrange my CV and apply for a job that sounds much better for me than the one I've go the interview for :rotfl: Here's hoping I get a reply to that one ;) then I can view Monday as a learning experience :D

    5. Getting washing done, the oven cleaned and the shopping delivered all before the weekend (though there's more washing on just now).

    6. Knowing I have a whole host of office type clothes for any new job I get and that 90% of them came from charity shops or ebay :D

    7. Having lots of things in the freezer and a full baking cupboard so might just do some baking to take my mind off the impending doom on Monday ;)

    8. Having the heating on less as it's a little warmer and thus saving some cash :D

    9. Getting a whole load of samples of moisturizing creams for people with eczema and them helping the eczema on my face. Hoping it will clear up a bit for Monday so I don't look like a freak. :o

    10. Having a short while this morning when OH took the boys out so I could sit and think and plan for the interview - confidence has taken a huge knock and so I needed to think and concentrate on what my strengths really are and what parts of my job I enjoyed :o

Going to be a tough few weeks though as have MOT, car tax and the car needs a new clutch and a puncture repair - all needed by end of April.
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?
