VickyA - happy birthday somewhat belated.

M&M90 - well done on your allotment.

    Hope all dogs recover quickly.

    1. Managed to tidy the garden more - not what I planned to do in it but all my back allowed it to do.

    2. Sugarsoaped the kitchen and I will hopefully paint it today

    3. My pot of grape hyacinths a mothers day present looking lovely.

    4. DS1 achieving a good mark in his coursework. It is the module that he's finding the hardest. He has worked it out and has passed the module with a couple more practicals to do.

    5. DH has been selected as a volunteer for the rugby world cup.

Morning all - I have a work at home day, though with not too much pressing.

McC - glad things have settled, one of my pleasures is seeing Pops back on the boards!

Pleasures for the last week or so

    1. Girls trip to Madrid. I didn't really want to go but rather enjoyed it - apart from an "incident" over where to eat that i got the blame for. it seems it is ok for others to dictate where we go and what we do, but because i didn't want to eat in Starbucks (honestly - all that Tapas and we ended up in chuffing starbucks) i am awkward, and "Why can't you just eat bread?" (Why doesn't G "just eat meat" - but it seems that is "different"). Haven't gotten over it yet - can you tell? :p Anyhoo, Madrid is beautiful - the Prado amazing (Vicky, saved 5 minutes of queue buying tickets online :rotfl: - could have been different though, I know). Lovely indoor market (St Antonio, I believe, Vicky - you must go), and the park was astonishing, as was the palace.
    2. Mothers day pressies - 2 bottles of fave body shop shower gel from J and a voucher from V "this entitles VJsmum to take V to one museum in New York. She promises not to moan, whinge, complain and will look interested. T's and c's - not valid for Old Art Museums, modern art is acceptable" :rotfl: and a FB message "Happy mothers day to the mother who refused my offer to come and spend the day with her, but bu88ered off to Madrid or Milan or somewhere instead" :rotfl: love my kids :p
3 Really interesting chat with bloke on plane on the way home - his hobby was visiting world war one battelfields and cemetries, his son had done a soccer scholarship in the US and his daughter had done a performing arts degree and now works in Burbank studios LA!! the other girls (who had been sat separate) asked if we'd exchanged numbers! ;):p
    4. Work is sort of OK - i think i am beyond stress now so just do stuff as and when i can do it.
    5. Dad seems very happy, despite some worrying family news regarding his BIL.

Have a great day, all - i am off to watch Poldark in the bath (I wish :rotfl:)
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Quick hello as its past bedtime :

Appt with specialist and a referral to another specialist tomorrow .

Took my son to uni but not his campus ....was a bit naughty where I parked in a permit space without a permit...car next to me had a $30 fine on their windscreen. He was just running in to return library books.

Went to local cafe with DD1 when she finished uni , had a pumpkin and feta tart.

Went into all the op shops in our wee town. She got some wool in the smelly one. I got a lovely dark tartan duvet set in salvos .Was $12 (£6) but I noticed when I got to the till one of the buttons on a pillowcase was cracked , so got it for $8.

    Beans on toast for tea.

Dog had a subdued morning but seemed brighter as day went on.

Fabulous play at school. It has been a very hot day, 35 o and very windy, then we had a storm and very heavy rain ( right after I'd hung out newly washed new to me duvet set on line) , the seats were soaking. My bum was very damp all through the play! I'm always amazed at the talent and confidence some kids have , DD2 was a beautiful faerie ( then came home as a grumpy beast!)

Right, I'm up for work soon! Night x

Hello all, it's a beautiful day today here in Northumberland, blue sky and glorious sunshine.

    1. Got up early and stripped the bed.

    2. Four loads of washing out on the line and still drying.

    3. Window cleaners came so I cleaned the inside windows as well.

    4. Washed down and brushed the front door step with hot soapy water.

    5. Took the covers off the garden furniture.

    6. Just about to make a cup of tea and go and sit in the conservatory to enjoy the rest of the day, it's starting to get warm out there now :D

Just having a good day of early Spring sunshine makes you feel loads better and you want to do things.
Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money :D

Late wishes for birthdays and tatties planters amongst the flock. Still on the ege of Sparrashire!

POETS Day the morrow, so pack inn bags. Of curse, I drive without conviction, as the buzzes as no caught up with me yet. Back home to BoPsie. She as new toy! Possible tile on the frights!

    Tuck inn now everyone!

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Sons off to school happily.

    3) Job interview. :-/ Nice to see my old school and have a tour round. One of the teachers who taught me came over to say hello at breaktime! Had an interview, which was as painful and awkward for me as they always are. Also sat in on a few classes and tried to talk to all members of staff and pupils as much as possible. One term long post, one permanent. 3 of us were interviewed.

    4) Lunch at mum and dad's.

    5) Swimming with sons and brother.

    6) Cheating pizza tea.

    7) School friend just phoned.

    8) I got the permanent job. :-)

ain't that the truth. both boss and another senior lecturer are leaving. i have a gazillion ideas on direction of Centre. I am discussing things with others and sorting my ideas. All fun, though time-consuming and tiring. Fighting for any resource in today's climate is going to be the challenge, but I'm enjoying writing the business plan.
    doggy hugs to poorly hounds
no kenilworth road action till tuesday bop
    1) 1st meeting of the day was accompanied by ginger cake and coffee.
    2) 2nd meeting was rather long but very beneficial to both of us. late lunch of pasta salad with salmon steak. very very yum

    4) supper with work colleagues. we were off to the theatre to see one of our lecturers in hairspray, so fitting we had the pre theatre supper. still off alcohol so very reasonable
    5) now watching in and out of the kitchen. iplayer, what a pleasure!

Frith - fantastic news on the job!!! Ampersand welcome back - you have been missed!!!

DD - lots happening but exciting stuff by the sounds of it!

    1. Blossom is popping out all over the place - it always amazes me how it seems to be not there one day but there the next!!!
    2. Productive day in work - managed to get some enthusiasm and an exciting project idea from an apparently reluctant staff member - great project too!!! - I just need to help her make it happen now!
    3. Got next cake idea on the go (DD3 birthday) using a technique I haven't done much of - should be fun!
    4. Lovely hugs from DS going to bed - wonder how much longer he wants big hugs before he turns into a proper moody teenage boy! (not long I suspect - so enjoying while they last!)
    5. NSD
    6. Busy weekend ahead - catching up with friends as it is the only weekend this month where I have no kids as ex off on a cruise so cancelled his time with the kids!
