3) Have booked for the Prado Museum when DH and I visit Madrid in a few weeks time. No queuing for us!
See you never know when you can help someone here - I, too, am going to Madrid in a couple of weeks and hadn't thought about booking online. I will get hold of "the girls" and see if they wish to join me. Thanks
Judi - re DS, I feel your pain
DD - well done on PhD student - coffee cake, mmmmmm. Hope much ado was good. I keep forgetting about checking for things like that
DforV - my DS has stated firmly that he "isn't going to prom" because it's for that dreadful word they use "gays" << sigh >> hopefully he will grow out of being a teenagerBut then one of his friends is being made to go by his mother - I don't really agree with that either. Love that Nimoy quote
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Early start and a walk to the station with OH. Bacon roll on the train - was surprisingly delicious
2. A walk through an awakening London, and i found "the place" and was only 10 minutes late
3. Really good training day - the presenter was fab and one of my best friends popped up on a training videoPeople around me laughed at my audible gasp
4. We were on the 17th floor of the building and at lunchtime, the blinds were drawn up so we had the most amazing view - St Paul's, the Shard, Cheesegrater, The Eye
5. Some YS bargains in Morries as i passed at 7.15. Not a PK type haul but 9p Hot cross buns and 2 loaves of artisan type bread - total 97p.
Working at home today and on tenterhooks waiting for my last minute impulse purchase of Noel Gallagher tickets to arrive. The concert is tomorrow
Oh and Ice cream house is ours :T:j Completed yesterday.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
VJsmum - congratulations of being proud owners of Ice cream house.
Mine for yesterday
1. Caught bus to work which saves money and I read some of my kindle.
2. Busy at work but it helped me avoid the boss. She will ignore me, give me more admin work to do(I get given no time to do this in), be rude and shout at me or be creepily nice so avoidance is the best tactic.
3. Missed bus home so finished work as I've the day off but a collegue offered to give me a lift home as my back was painful. I declined as with traffic it would have probably added almost an hour to her journey. It was lovely for her to have offered though.
4. NSD even after walking past Costa with time to spare to buy a coffee.
5. Bus journey home everybody was talking to each other and a really friendly atmospher.
6. DH had a meeting and ate out so I just had an omelette for tea and sat in front of tv all evening. It doesn't happen often.0 -
BoP Tour Latest.
After Snorkers, beans, haricot not broad, bacon, black pud, Tom, eggs, toast, mushrooms snap crackle and pop, BoP went in the 9:48 to Settle. And back. Well chuffed. Then off to the fells. Sat and counted the birds and things. BoPsie got sommutts for her toes.
Now de BoPping about, and wondering whether to have the snake and snail pie, with proper crust, not that nuklare food from the emporium. Wobbleades will be purchased again.0 -
Vjsmum::j:j:beer: Congratulations on the perfect house:beer::j:j
1. It’s been a gorgeous day.:)
2. The first coat of paint colour has gone on all the walls, the final goes on tomorrow, still a wardrobe to build, carpet to get down but it’s moving in the right direction.
3. I didn’t get the job, I’m listing it as a pleasure as the next meant to be job is hopefully working its way to me, DH has been wonderful in keeping me confident through a crisis of confidence.
4. DH bought me 3 big seed trays with plastic tops to plant out absolutely all of the seeds.
5. Cooking toad in the hole for dinner as I type with cocktail sausages from the freezer and a side of leftover cabbage, and we haven’t had to top up at all, still working my way through the freezer stocks.:)0 -
Am back at work
but have some pleasures
1. DS got back from holiday safely and flights were not delayed
2. popped to Mr M for milk for DS (hes on a fitness regime which uses 5 cartons of almond milk a week) and it went through the self serve checkout at £1 each, although it was not labelled on the shelf as on offer. I have been paying over £2 each in co op. So I went back tonight and bought another 20 ! All went through at £1 so that's £20 saved :money:
3. Boss was ok this week on my return to work after sick leave. Have been referred to occ health to try and get a ruling about Equality Act so that she doesn't have to put me on management disciplinary action measures
4. she also suggested I could change my leave from next week to tomorrow so I now have tomorrow off :T
5. am feeling a lot better than last week :j0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

oh boy 4 days into teaching and brain fried. Am in bed already even though i didn't escape work till 7:30
1) very nice tomato and pepper omlette for breakfast - end of the cherry tomatoes, going slightly soft, ideal excuse for cooking them
2) a morning on accreditation and frameworks. hmmm really must get application in for senior fellow of hea (hides head in shame, draft been kicking around for over a year)
3) macaroni and dhal with some extra broadbeans and chopped toms added - yummy. and a banana to keep up energy levels for an afternoon of evaluation. Not sure who left more tired - me or the students!
4) managed to drag my mind to job that had to be done before going home. 90 minutes  but now tis done hooray. Just about to log out and up popped message from dd2 offering me a lift home :j

Todays pleasures:
1 - Lovely sunny day.
2 - Donated some stuff to the charity shop.
3 - Knowing my mum is up spending time with my gran. Family mean the world to me.
4 - Made some cheese scones. Had 1 warm and it was delicious.
5 - A very chilled out day off.0 -
Congratulations :T VJsmum! :T
Not been posting every day as every day seems to be so full but certainly not complaining
1. Shopping day with DD, we were very restrained, only came home with one carried bag each after a super lunch on Mr S, easy on the calories and the pocket
2. Excellent meeting with friends in the evening, the usual couple of hours or so of fun and laughter
3. Swimming with the seals this morning, coffee afterwards then shopping for DNeighbour's DD's 16th birthday. I remember just after I moved here she came to my front door at 4 years old to show me her first school uniform, where does the time go?!
4. A very pleasant couple came to meet Finn this afternoon, they're going to phone me in the morning with their decision. I think he'll be very happy with them so fingers crossed.
5. Just in from celebrating with the 16 y/o at a local restaurant, feels lovely that she wanted me to be there with her family
Sweet dreams0 -

Delighted to help! :j :j Albeit inadvertently! We now try to book in advance for all "big" tourist attractions. When in Amsterdam last year, we pre-booked Anne Frank's house which saved a 2.5hr queue!!!
My "Thing 1" was received in a luke warm way. I had to explain to one or two people about The Cat in the Hat! Evidently it speaks volumes about my maturity level - not very mature!! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Pleasures today:
1) Made gingerbread men/women and children with the cooking group today. It seems as though the adult cookie cutter has seen better days - a slim neck and an odd shaped head.:o
2) Told a parent about the amazing author, Oliver Jeffers. My favourite book is Lost and Found - so much so that when I read it out loud, I *might* have a little tear in my eye.
3) Spoke to my parents tonight. They were at a show in London on Sunday, celebrating Lionel Bart's life and career - my dad was a big fan. Matt Lucas was in front of them in the audience. I asked my mum whether ML recognised them - apparently not! :rotfl: (sarcastic, you understand)
4) One of my books is selling on eBay! :j :j Just 99p, but that's 99p more than it was gaining me on my shelf.
5) Euromillions ticket bought for tomorrow night! Victory is miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine. Honest. No really.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Pleasures for the last few days:
1) Sister and niece visited! Still a bit tricky for them but sounds like the health centre has swung into action. She's 6 weeks old now. :-)
2) Went to town yesterday to see my school friend.
3) Bigger son still liking his new hair.
4) Went to folk music group this morning. A piano accordion, melodeon, my concertina and brother on the trumpet.
5) Popped to Ludlow and got smaller son some brand new M and S trousers from Oxfam.
6) Tasty tea tonight from the Good Food magazine.
7) Swimming with sons and my brother.
8) Have booked 2 days at a backpacking hostel near Bala for Easter.
9) Planning next DIY project.... the stairs.
Well done on the ice cream house, VJsmum!
Hope you are on the mend, Ampersand.0
