Coming to the end of Project redecorate - total spend £45, £55 left!
1) Finding 2 practically unworn pairs of Converse during project declutter
2) Turned IKEA kitchen cart into cute bedside table, which holds all my junk in a more stylish way
3) Which allowed me to move existing bedside table into spare room, saving me buying a new one
4) Found squillions of pairs of tights.
5) Found an unused doormat in back of utility room - replaced existing one which was pretty manky.
Back to work tomorrow, so project redecorate on hold until the weekend.0 -
Oh no. BoP is inn Wobbleade emporium. So there be no live scrabble event this evening. Sits, licks lips and rubs tum.0

- does your student want to plan my maths lesson please?I haven't started yet, but am thinking that Hamilton will suffice, for tomorrow at least....Having spent a lot of half term looking at their books and targets, I think a bit of year 3 to ease them back in will be nice.
Shame I have to send my lesson plans to my mentor though! I have to put all kinds of prettifying into words on the plan, rather than as words in my head.0 -
DD the soup sounds good, I particularly like the walking the dogs bit. Does it give it more strength?
Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome - hmmm vjsmum
I see you can't have something common like a cold. Seriously, hope it is diagnosed and managed soon
England v. Scotland just starting. The game may be as lumpy as bop's custard, and probably no jam for England cos they're very naughty boys!
1) very nice phone chat with mil who's just turned 86 and not too well. had to tell her her offspring was spending the weekend, as usual, with new bf. She said i don't know how you cope and i'm not sure i do terribly well, but good chat apart from that
2) that made me late for sunday school  i was only helping but even so. Got there puffed and they weren't cross at all, just worrried something had happened. leader did a smartie game, and i got some orange smarties :j
3) i am of the lent is 40 days, ash wednesday -> easter sunday, sundays not included (hence 40 days) brigade so pub meal was accompanied with 2 pints of cider and followed by the after dinner mint i'd been given Saturday at The Dome.
4) met dd2 in l!dl, her with the car. very strange - all the cold cabinets were empty. so no yoghurt and no gammon. cos we stuck totally to list and we didn't buy 2 items on the list and we didnt have xoh with us under £22 :T
5) then home to tidy house before committee meeting for 14. quite a squeeze! and now they've all gone and i've had the rest of the brocolli soup and i'm off to walk dogs, make tea and go to bed to watch tonight's call the midwife. sweet dreamsMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Funny old day today - didn't sleep well for no apparent reason and woke early despite me being able to lie in!!! Typical isn't it?
Plans to do bits in the garden thwarted due to rain - so pottered in the house and did more plotting and scheming but no matter what I can't get rid of this blasted debt any quicker!!! I have no patience!!!!
Started mooching on line at bits for the house for when my debt is gone- found old cinema seats that would be great in the family room to turn it into a proper cinema room - the reason for this is to encourage my DS and DD3 to want to spend time at home somewhere fun where they can bring friends rather than being out wandering - daft I know but I really fear for them (particularly my DS) and want to make sure I can keep them safe! But of course this all takes money - which, until my debt is gone, will be is short supply!
I think having too much time to ponder about things is not good for me!!!
All the more reason to think of pleasures when I feel like this!
1. DS back from camp - enjoyed himself and no injuries sustained except some achy legs!
2. Tea in bed with the baldy chef and his mate in between soup making this morning!
3. All this rain is making grass look very green - even the patch that died under the paddling pool looks back to normal!!
4. Soup (3) was delicious - potato and leek from fridge and threw in some ends from asparagus snaffled fro friends meal on Friday (he was going to bin them!!!) gave it a lovely flavour!!!
5. Call the midwife!!!0 -
Kilts have won the toss dd[bop will doubtless make something of that]and &'s listening.
1. Watching &'s boys annihilate albion on catch-up. Embarrassing and sad. Nothing like a dose of schadenfreude to perk things up...well, Toulon lost squeakily yesterday and shouldn't have. Shelford habitually does and massively did.
2. Last night of 3 One-Act Plays in a schoolroom hier. How did they manage?
Necessarily very ad-hoc, yet imaginitively 'staged' and a damned decent fist was made. & never makes 'for amateurs' allowances either[old reviewer/critic kicks in]. Memorable and well-done.
Learnt this morning >£2000 raised from the 3 nights. This is amazing. Tkt included glass of wine/snacks, too.
3. Muck weather and bitter, but to simply be warm and sheltered and safe and fed and watered feels like a big thing on the conscious-self screen sometimes. Not being po-pious about it, just factual.
4. Over 10 years in &squat, but, until hier, had never gone off down that old war-time track. Often meant to. This time, for no reason other than thinking just that, turned back, went down long, long track, met lovely joiner man and we soon talked about all else while looking at his old reclaimed oak/antique furniture, including...cricket...including rugby...including sister in aotearoa.
The whole world was immediately a better place. Sorted gratis:-)
5. Swarms. Several noted because they were XXXL- gulls, jackdaws, partridge[never seen such a big covey, 24 counted and more], and late this arvo - 9 deer. Tramped over the new little bridge, volunteer-build, just finished. Stream bulged and churned as & watched. Back to Thermos+car........good.

Get well wishes to all those under the weather.
My pleasures for the last few days:
1 - OH being home so a day early so got to enjoy a day off together.
2 - Spend day off having a mooch around the shops. Got a few things we needed and used some discount codes.
3 - Some absolutely delightful customers in work yesterday, resulting in lots of great chat and a lovely feeling.
4 - Got a particular giggle out of the 3 year old out told me they were going to the pub!
5 - Yummy dinner yesterday. Friday's was a bit bland so I was glad last night's was tasty.
6 - Movie night. Watched the second Hobbit movie.
7 - Stayed late at work tonight and got some jobs done which should hopefully help with the week.
8 - Have continued with the 30 day shred. Day 6 complete today even though I was sorely tempted to give it a miss.
9 - Day off tomorrow.
10 - Catching up on everyone's pleasures on here.0 -
What a lot of lovely pleasures to read this afternoon...there were none when I woke at silly o'clock this morning.
It's lashing with rain and thundering and lightning , grumbling away. It's brought some much cooler air with it which is very welcome. After a weekend of 37o heat. A much needed soaking of rain for the garden.
What a difference a day makes! I went to work this morning as always , boss popped in and said can we catch up today? So we had lunch and she dropped the not too surprising bombshell of she is selling the business but my job is secure. Then along came new boss, who seems very nice, very enthusiastic and obviously has spare cash to throw at the business.
So changes ahead ...hopefully positive ones, hopefully days off and time off for me! "Any holidays planned?" ......er, holidays? He will be in charge, he will do the roster, he can take all the stress and strains off my wearied shoulders and will be welcome to them! Will keep you all posted
So, a lovely lunch of beetroot salad with goats cheese and pumpkin bread and houmous , current boss paid.....poor thing was all worried about me and how I would be. As we are friendly she knows my financial commitments re uni fees, school fees, house back home, rent out here etc, so did her best to secure my job. As a friend of hers I knew how much the business was draining her financially ( hence I'm not surprised at her decision) , anyway lunch was lovely and hopefully we will all benefit out of this decision.
I have the windows and doors open to allow very fresh air into a very hot and stuffy house. Enjoying the sound of the rain and watching Call the Midwife .
Me and my labyrinthitis are finally going to the GP this afternoon, spent another dizzy weekend and I know I need to get it checked out.
kittikins I hope Miss Kitty gets on well at school. DD2 has loved every day of her new school( so far) and it was the best decision to send her there ( even if OH and I will be working until we are 88)
Vicky I'm glad you enjoyed your Dubai trip ....seems like you've been planning it for ages and then it's over, it must have been good to catch up with your friend. Apple cake recipe?
Do have a lovely Monday0 -
1. Spent some time in the garden and cleared out a pile of metal which DH took to the tip. Probably only needs another couple of trips.
2. Had lovely lunch of soup.
3. Went to MIL briefly which is about all I can cope with and she cooked tea for us.
4. Long chat with my sistr on the phone and arranged to meet her in April.
5. Chat with a neighbour who is feeling better after surgery.0 -
Good luck at the docs vjsmum & Mhags & good luck to kittikins DD on trial day at new school x
Well done on completing day 6 of the shred Giddynmg :j
RightyTightyLeftyLoosey - great budgeting on the decorating and well done recycling / upcycling IKEA kitchen cart - sounds great
PK - sounds like a lovely happy sunday
Sparrer thanks for the get well wishes. Am very envious of your RTC bargains.
We never get good reductions here - even if you go late at night you then have to fight your way through the burly abusive shoppers - and that's just the women:rotfl:
Pleasures for sunday
1. lots of rain ... which washed my carand the house windows
2. lazy day in front of tv and snoozing
3. leftover chilli from freezer
4. Felt well enough Sunday evening to drive DS to his gf house ... only 5 mins away , although he managed to lose his glasses just as we were leaving .... one minute in his hand then couldn't remember where he had put them... anyway finally found before he lost his cool  and he's now off on his holiday with gf and her parents
5. mcD's drive through on way home after dropping off DS - not exactly OS but had been a no spend weekend up to then
