Had a good day yesterday especially as not working.
1. Made some soup and froze for lunches. It makes it easier to have a NSD.
2. Spent time in the garden and built a bit more of my dry stone wall while my chickens were wandering about.
3. My seeds are growing, or at least some of them, which I sowed last week and put into my cold frame.
4. Sorted out my freezer and listed ecerything in there. Not exactly a pleasure but I've been putting it off for a while so its now done. I've also menu planned for the next couple of weeks.
5. DS2 came home briefly on his way skiing. He was very talkative and excited. He's going with a couple of friends and doing it as cheaply as possible.0 -
Hiya again everyone.
My intention to post again soon didn't happen as soon as I expected so am trying again now.
Five pleasures for recently:
1. The crocuses and other bulbs are coming up apace in the garden.
2. Am on my own for a few days so peace and quiet reigns.
3. Made a phone call to the police about a local problem and, within a very short time, got a visit from a really delightful youngish cop. Hadn't really thought about the police being delightful but this one was!
4. Tinned tomato soup for supper last night. Hadn't had any in ages and couldn't be bothered to make anything proper. Laziness is a pleasure too.
5. Watched Indian Summers on 4od - visually very rich.
Have a lovely Saturday

Another post lost!
Pleasures for yesterday:
1) Bigger son went ferreting with my brother and second dad despite having a terrible cold.
2) Smaller son and I went out for more reduced paint.
3) Bigger son then went out for games afternoon with brother and brother in law!
4) Smaller son and I had a cup of hot chocolate at Sainsburys.
5) Stir fry for tea made by smaller son mainly, as he is the only person not to have a cold.
6) Enjoyed the live Eastenders and the Last Leg.
7) Didn't have to do anything except lie on the sofa all night watching television with the stove going well, with ailing bigger son lying in the other direction!0 -
Something you're not?
Reading that & is like the bleating done prior to relieving at the front! Shepherdess and sheep? Notes the foamed drinks! No! Thinners in the paint?
5 Really was looking forward to getting the valves on the ogle box this week, as I heard that Lucy was on. Is bin a while since Ms Ball had been on the box, and BoP did like her years ago. Disappointed to find she left some months back! Never mind, missed the sheep again. Is Stan still doing the Street?
4 Saturday started right again this very day. Snorkers, Bacon, Toms, Poached Egg, toast, mushrooms and back after a month on has beans (Not Broad!), that old fav of BoP, SpagYETTI! Washed down with proper tea and finished off with blackcurrant jam on toast, with bits! Rubs tum, no sheep!
3 Raffles has been not very well yesterday, but throwy. Nothing serious, I think he wolfed down some cheese by mistake. This morning he was fully back to his usual self, well contented, purring away and his meow, boy he does know how to meow!
2 Nite is film night, think BoPsie has found a Norma film for BoP. Should keep his happy. Just heard that on the news, the Police were called to a skirmish in a cinema in Barnsley. It kicked off because someone could not here the lyrics. The police apparently had that in cuffs in no time!
1 In the mirror is someone unique, so why be anyone else.0 -
Frith Wishing you and bigger son well now!
1. A foray to the beach hut to find paint of various colours to touch up little marks on walls. Maybe not noticeable to some but I know they were there and it was bugging me. All done now though
2. Ironing, if for no other reason that it keeps me warm
3. Kitchen and bathroom floors, it give me pleasure to do them on hands and knees (and it gets into the corners properly) rather than using the mop. But I'm not a saint, I use the mop 9 times out of 10!
4. The amaryllis I bought at Christmas is halfway to the ceiling but doesn't look like it's anywhere near flowering yet
5. Hail, it looks like huge beads of white packing material and is covering the garden and beach hut roof, bouncing off the car and pinging against the window. A moment ago Frankie was sitting on the window sill with his nose pressed up against the glass, then when it hit he shot across the room and up the stairs :rotfl:
Have a good rest of the day0 -
Good afternoon everyone!
I'm back from Dubai, having had an amazing time there. My friend was at work during the day, but we put the world to rights every single evening. It wasn't an OS week in any sense of the word, BUT last summer's work over the school holiday meant that I could do what I liked!
Sadly whilst I was away a friend text me to say that her mum had passed away after a relatively short illness.
But, back to earth with a bump and I've got a few OS bits:
1) Had purchased some laundry sorting bags from Lakeland a while ago, this means that unpacking today was *almost* a pleasure! Almost...
2) 150 extra Boots Advantage points thanks to the app I've downloaded.
3) Credit card bill paid, thanks to all budgeting. It does make me feel SO smug these days.
4) Walked into town to try to get the blood circulating again. Sadly, I think I've put far too much weight on last week.
5) Back with DH as he had to work whilst I was away. He tells me it was peaceful without me!!! :rotfl:Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Welcome back VickyA, glad you had a fabulous time
1. Finally got round to claiming back the credit on my former mobile phone account, nearly £13....which has paid for....
2. A mother's day present for my mummykins and a mahoosive bottle of what should be awesome shampoo to make my grey hair shine and look gorgeous! (Well, here's hoping) Both items had great reviews and were £5 each, plus postage.
3. Have nearly finished updating my class' maths books, just literacy to go....
4. Planning to go and visit a very poorly friend tomorrow and put the world to rights.
5. Cuddles and silliness with DD, although she's a bit grumpy with me this evening as I've just asked her to do a maths assessment paper! (Can't blame her really, but I do need to see what she may not have been taught so far this year so I can try and help)
6. Started to sort out the tip that is my bedroom - I've recycled a load of lotions and potions that I've had lurking in the depths of the toiletries cupboard for far too long, and rediscovered tons of my favourite shower gels and toothpastes that I had forgotten I'd bought! (Shame I didn't discover shampoo or I'd have saved myself spending my phone refund.....)
7. Have found some magazines and books to take to my chum tomorrow, hopefully she won't be a snob at receiving second hand goodies.
8. Mummykins has bought some stationery bits for DD's new school, all very exciting!
9. Daddykins took DD out to have her new fountain pen engraved with her name on it - she was beside herself with joy, and it does look rather lovelyShe is now writing EVERYTHING with it, and at one point this afternoon, we had a written conversation, lol.
10. Hoping we have something good for 'movie night' tonight!
11. Scrummy dinner tonight of fishfingers, chips and beans - I can't wait!0 -
Evening to all of you.
1. Four loads of washing all out on the line by 11am. The laundry basket is empty :T
2. The sun has shone pretty much all day here it has been fab
3. The washing was pretty much nearly dry by 2.30pm when I fetched it in. So, it's just airing off on the clothes horse now. What a difference the outside airing of clothes makes to the scent of freshness.
4. Looking at style websites this afternoon as this is the year that the house is going to be redecorated and blitzed to how I want it. Making sure that everything is done right and no costly mistakes. Planning ahead!
5. Just sat and watched Back To The Future for the goodness knows how many time - I love it though it's just a classic! Thank you ITV2Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Didn't post yesterday as I went to visit a friend last night and stayed over so just catching up today
so my 5:
1. Lovely hour with DS - after a busy few hours packing and getting ready for camp I went to read on my bed for an hour - he came in and brought his book and we lay on the bed reading and cuddling - this is a vary rare occurrence but very much appreciated after the horrible year we had last year! (I think he might have been a little anxious bout camp but would never admit it!)
2. Lovely meal with a friend - I cooked - he supplied the ingredients and the wine!!!! (too much wine so head was a little worse for wear today!)
3. YS cooked chicken - so had Chinese style chicken curry tonight - much cheaper than takeaway and enough chicken for stir fry tomorrow
4. Had some badly needed me time today - just relaxing and reading (not uni work either!!!) - need to be more productive tomorrow though!!!
5. Bath and early night! always a pleasure!!!0 -
Thank you so much for your good wishes re. work. It's been meh but as you say vjsmum seems to be widespread at the mo. Aftermath of the ref? so we find our pleasures where we can, and when we start to look we realise there's an abundance out there. so for today:
1) scottish friend in reply to my fb 'being an englander supporter, such fun' posted
http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/sport/sport-headlines/unpleasant-foreigners-ruin-cricket-again-2015022095560
2) dd2 has moved back home. i went with her and mum phoned 5 minutes before we were setting off so i asked her if she fancied an afternoon in old reekie
3) dd2 did last 1/2 day shift in shop, mum and i went for fab meal in The Dome. OK so not very mse but totally wonderful. I caught her up on all my news, and she me
4) then we went to LA (laura ashley not lala land) and they had a lovely cashmere jumper half price and a very nice bag 20% off so i shall focus on the money saved ;-)
5) met up with dd2 out of work, helped her pack her stoof into the car, back home and made a totally scrummy soup as large head of brocolli going slightly over. trimmed off yellow bit and boiled with veg stock cube, fried large onion finely chopped, walked dogs (clearly vital part of soup-making!), shoved onion in with cooked brocolli, whizzed with blender stick and added lots of black pepper.
now listening to RFV christmas fantasia to cheer me up after Hatters emulated England cricket team. glad to see the mariners fared better bopMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
