BoP - boiled bacon and broad beans? BleurghBlackbeard_of_Perranporth wrote: »BoP, thirty five years broad bean free!Generally I am in complete agreement with your dietary advice, but I have to disagree with you on both counts here: I adore boiled bacon, and am very fond of broad beans, too. Oh well, more for me!
Stay off the foamed drinks! Sits, prepares wonderful Cheese, hand grated, and marmite sandwich, with added toenailed onion as crunch. Rubs tum! To protect delicate hands, the emporiums do sell pre-packed grated cheese at extortionate prices. AVOID!
Now before we start, so there is no misunderstanding in this matter!
Blackbeard_of_Perranporth wrote: »Morning all. Just checked the Y fronts and turned them inside out. Socks, they can go another day before turning.
Bring it on, rubs tum!
Now where was BoP! Jenny sends a :heartpuls to VJs and canm expect the cornets to be flaked anytime. 99s Please! Clean bedding, see above! Free course, does it come with a lunch!
5 This morning, we had our first feathered blue tit of the year, land in our cheery tree and cherp away like a good one. Unfortunately, Raffles also spotted the bird, as well as a landed blackbird and pressed up to his flap, ears pinned. The landed managed to escape, but the blue tit remained still inn the tree.
Fortunately, Raffles climbing abilities are a little short of being very bad!
4 Had blood tests in readiness for Jenny's third birthday. Happened on our 25th Wedding anniversary, eh! Mind you, just checked them chocolates in nshop, and realised that all the punters in emporiums paying premium prices for nonsense. BoP books of rules, section 17, chapter 3. Important dates, and events!
"Ensure that your important days are linked to just after a punter festival, so that all the treats are cheap! Such: Weddings, should be held between 16th and 28th February, this allowing lots of chocolates to be very special, cheap! This was also rule of Father BoP, who timed not only this correctly, but managed during the doing so, ensure BoP was born on 5th November, thus allowing another feast of cheap excesses to be sold after All Saints Eve"
Timing!
3 And another thing! Feastered this morning with double snorkers, bacon, beast smoked back, mushrooms, toms and toast, with best breakfast tea. Best start to the day, after the leeches that is!
2 Night is a correctness event, Ladies vs the men at the Club of Camera. Unfortunately I cannot compete as I am doing the projector thingy again! Hands down, line up!
1 You learn more about a person in one hour of play, than you could never discover in a year of conversation.
And for your dietary delights today, and a shock in the arm for the needy, BoP shall be splashing his spoon into Jelly and Ice Cream!0 -
& I don't put carrots, tomatoes etc in the soup as it makes it too sweet. I wanted a good savoury soup and this is perfect. Hope your version turned out okay
BoP you have to like broad beans, they're a good old-fashioned veg that taste delicious cooked just out of the pod! Better than those lumps in orange slime out of a tine any day _pale_, I absolutely agree re pre-packed grated cheese, the emporiums certainly know how to rip off the gullible (or just plain lazy)
DFV well done your son for bringing you soup and soup spoon, it doesn't take long to teach the correct way, does it? Saves a lot of confusion for them as they grow and have meals elsewhere. Aspersions - will be planting soon too, the £1 shop ones, of course
1. Yesterday, my first visit to DD1's new home in Cambs, or Huntingdonshire if you're stubborn, like me. Found it easily with the help of Mr G (satnav). Had a lovely day with the whole family and their new Border Collie pup, the children and pup quite over excited and full of energy. A very tasty dinner and lots of it, she's an excellent cook, and the house is lovely with room for them all to grow
2. Got home, has a quick shower, spent some time with ToppyDog, then out to a late tea with a friend before went to see Selma. Beautifully acted, those of us who remember that period will know how painful the memories are. Yet still there is so much racism, it makes one wonder if we've learned anything. I don't know if it will be, but as modern history it should be shown in every school in every country.
3. We originally went to see The Theory of Everything but it was sold out, so we still have that pleasure to come
4. Today is a rest day, I need it after the last few days, other than the tm and weights of course. I did try sit-ups but even the pets were laughing at my efforts! Glad I amused someone
5. One from Tuesday as I didn't have time to post yesterday. Sorry to brag but I went swimming with DNeighbour in the evening, only my 6th time, and managed a whole length :j. It's 6.5 meters, whatever that is in real money, at the deep end and I'm 5 feet nothing so felt quite brave. Only made it halfway back as I got cramp but feel quite pleased with what I did
Have a good rest of the day0 -
Good morning! It's Friday already , I've just woken up with labyrinthitis , which I could feel coming on yesterday , so I'm lying very flat and still and typing with one finger!
It's a day off so hurrah for that I will just ease myself slowly into today I think instead of usual morning rush around.
My Thursday ended better than it started , so that was a bonus.
My face was about 2" from a blooming huge spider web and it's owner at 6am in the garden. Thank goodness I did not walk into it. Golden orb spiders make a huge web overnight and then remove it through the day......but it was still dark when I was out.
Fridge broke at work so I had to chuck out so much food , it was truly wasteful but absolutely no way I would have used it. I'm glad it was me that was on kitchen duty and not one of the others who might not have realised that food was not chilled!
Finally got home after a busy lunch service ( I've been leaving all week before lunch starts) .....sat with my dog for a while and then .....
Went over to hairdressers.......she worked her magic again. Eyebrows waxed too....ouch! That's when I realised labyrinthitis was coming on.....when I lay down and my world started spinning ...not a good feeling at the best of times but combined with hot wax and pain.....bleurgh!
The pleasure is I now look less werewolf-y
Home for a little bit then took DD2 and DS out for tea. ( I know , I know ...frugal living etc) worked out the last time DS came out for food with me was in September ....so he was due a good feed! Conversation was good fun and food was lovely and leftovers boxed up for DD1's tea.
OH walked up to restaurant with the dog so we all walked home together which was nice. Dog was super excited to see not just one of his family come towards him but three of them....one after the other!
Clean bedding ( after I'd realised at bedtime I'd stripped the bed when I came in from work...that awful moment when you realise you have to make it before you can get into it) was a treat, I think I always sleep better that first night of clean sheets.
It's to be another hot day , I will ease myself into my one , singular day off and try not to do too much . I'm supposed to be going out with Dd1 and her friend this morning and friend is driving but I will see how my balance is in a couple of hours. I have a phone call to friend back home to look forward to in an hour and will get to make breakfast for DD2 before she goes to school. I normally leave for work whilst everyone is still sleeping so I like my mornings off with her. Second week of new school has went so much better than we thought.
Have a good evening0 -
I hope the labyrinthitis clears up mhagster - its not nice at all!
You learn more about a person in one hour of play, than you could never discover in a year of conversation - very very true!!! we should definitely play more in work!!! we could learn so much!
5 for me today:
1. Lost PE kit found - bigger pleasure is DS phone bus company and found it! - massive result in taking responsibility and valuing his stuff!!!:D
2. Cake baking friend helped me plan cake for friends birthday and even helped me with the tricky bits (lettering etc) so cake 'shouldn't' look like a complete dogs dinner (my baking always tastes good but may not be aesthetically pleasing!)
3. got all ingredients for above cake plus cupcakes for DD2s birthday for £15 instead of the £50 quoted to make a cake!!!
4. Definitely still light coming out of work at 5.30 - spring is coming - its is, it really is!!!
5. Tomorrow is Friday! :T0 -
1.Up by 8am and porridge and fruit for brekkie.
2.Used up my fivers club card points on buying 2 Odeon tickets in the sale.
3.Then into gear and finished boxing up the bedroom de cluttering as we went, we even found “videos”. And only planning on half of the boxes going back in when we have finished redecorating.
4. Easy peasy pasta bake.0 -
Just me again with my Friday pleasures:
It's an amazing, loud, crazy storm going at the moment, fabulous heavy rain that will hopefully soak the garden and fill the water butts , which are almost empty. Blessedly cool, fresh air which we've not had all week is so welcome.
Lovely chat with friend on phone. I do like a good blether with her every week.
All I got done today was hoovering and washing out and DS brought that back in.
Went out with DD and her friend. Sat in the back seat of car and shut my eyes. We had a lovely time out and about. We went to a country town and had a late breakfast , then a wander round the few shops ( but what lovely shops they were) then had a nice cool drink in a lovely cafe attached to the post office.
In the craziest ( scariest) op shop I've ever been in I bought a tartan clad book on Scotland ( published in 1953) , a lovely marmalade jar and a dome topped butter/ cheese dish all for the grand sum of $7 (£3.50) this shop was absolutely full of stuff like an extreme hoarders house!
Bought an Erstwilder Echidna brooch ....had it gift wrapped and will put it away for my birthday next month. http://shop.nationaltrust.org.au/products/erstwilder-resin-echidna-brooch
DD1 , who does not like spending her money, bought 3 brooches as she couldn't decide which one to get!
Came home , lay down , now feeling very dizzy again but I'm glad I went out for a bit today and didn't just spend the day catching up on housework.
Have a happy Friday x0 -
Morning all
Off to work shortly, but a later start today.
PK - don't know how you manage to find such bargains - i was chuffed with the half price butter
BoP - thank goodness for Raffles' inability to climb trees, I am resisting all "tit" jokes
Sparrer - well done on swimming a length :T
Mhagster - hope you feel better soon. Labyrinthitis connected to air pressure??? I love a storm
Judi - my cakes likewise - I can't be doing with faffing about with them. Did manage some icing roses for MiL 80th birthday cake. Thank goodness for hobbycraft where you can get "bits"
Pleasures for yesterday
1. A day of marking - but i am ahead of target. though still behind the deadline.
2. The line of the day was "the client has a very good case cos the contractor hired a stupid moron who started a fire inside the building. This is against regulations" which then went on "this could of (sic) been avoided by teaching the staff to not make a fire at work" :rotfl:
3. Ladies tap class
Kind of it for yesterday - I will save some for antoher dayI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Trying to find some for this week.
We had to have our dog put to sleep on Monday. It was the right decision but very difficult to make as she was part of the family.
Both DS's came back from Uni for the day and we talk about our memories.0 -
Sincere (((hugs))) villagelife. I feel so sad for you all but so pleased you had the DS's home to remember her. It's of no consolation to you now but she'll be waiting at Rainbow Bridge, RiP villagelife's family friend. x0

Now hear this!
Jenny sends the dogs inn :heartpuls to VL. SPARRA, No, the answer is NO! NT Aus and broaches. Easy with the cakes ladies! and SPARRA, you know what you can do with the treacle sponge as well! No, not picking, really!
5 The emporium of Lost Paradise has written personally to me, and they have, without their knowledge, upped their offers. Yes, S has given us, without even asking for it, the sum of £24. An incredible £24, for us. Not in used readies, but pure, unadulterated hard and fast, vouchers. They're missing us, seriously missing us. Only problemo is that me ands BoP have to spend £6 more than we do already. Oh well, to the incinerator they go. And while BoP is on the rant, heard on the wireless thing some fantastic news, that is, The Lost Paradise Emporium's sale has been extended, indefinitely. Utter Codswallop! Next! Broad has beans anybody? Still got the voucher for T, no visit yet, their coupon book will be here the week after next. Wonder what offers they'll bear froth!
4 Last eve we were involved in the sexist contest at the club of camera. BoPsie entered her pictures and one of hers was a right chuckle! As I do the projector, so I added my score of 300 points to us men, the girls lost by just a few points. Result! Apparently there is a recount!
3 Fingers crossed again!
2 Day BoP is readying for the weekend, BoPsie is coming along as well. Looks good on the fronts, so hopefully, see 3, we are rolling and rocking along. Broad beans anyone?
