Look, the genie is out of the bottle!
Chicken football, eh, where is chicken? 35C hot, dear, just warming up that, 45C is hot in the arid desert! Dishwasher. I fix ours by giving it wine! No nuke here &! Craftwork, pop group in that! Enuff Scoff
5 Now it seems that some foods, like the near bubble and squeak type nearly broke through on this thread. Just a note about what foods to avoid, as listed in the BoP life rule book, currently being written at five words minute, states the following.
Foods to avoid and how to avoid them!
Mum BoP, GBH, used to once a month serve boiled bacon, broad beans and some indigestible concoction that was thought to be a sauce. BoP did not like bacon that was boiled, see Saturday pages of the BoP fest! Nor does he like Broad Beans, God's creation to punish cooks. The sauce forget it. Although BoP would eat most foods, it was always nice to have the plate whipped from under one, and away with words such as you will not get any pudding either. Correct o mun do! She never knew I did not like treacle sponge either! Double bonus!
BoP, thirty five years broad bean free!
Now about that cabbage soup. Bring it on!
4 Gosh that has taken up most of the BoP efforts this day. In fact BoP is exhausted after that rant. Rant Over. Now, as for soups, BoPs winter warmer soup, made some weekends ago, is crunchy vegetable, made without cabbage, but has leek and celery. Celery, shaved so it does not have the hairy bits. Crunch is ok, hairy bits, well again, they are binned! So there.
3 Enough now, last night we watched the Aussie series of Millionaire Hot Seat. Thought of Mhags as we watched it.
2 Night is night in as BoP prepares for his annual blood tests.
1 If winning isn't everything, why do you keep score?
Sits, rubs tum and if you really want to, check out Melon Rugby!
DfV, Does it work like it does with stew. Oh boy, oh yes. Rule of BoP Book, cooking section states the following, in brief!
Currys, stews etc should not be refrigerated after cooking, excess has to be left on the stove to brew! The longer, the better. Same rules apply to cheese. The lager, non drink of BoP, is served extra cold. That is because those that drink it have no [STRIKE]taste[/STRIKE] sense! Fridging cheese removes the flavour. Cheese is kept in covered dish. Dish washed once a year, next year!0 -
Yes, MrN's completion date was mid January. :-/
Pleasures for yesterday.
1) stripped first few layers of paint off fireplace.
2) tonne of logs delivered and i stacked them.
3) lunch at mum and dad's.
4) bigger son's options evening. Several useful talks including with careers officer. He needs 7 As at GCSE to do medicine. He's chosen triple science and resistant materials as well as the compulsory ones.
5) came back and could hear smaller son and my brother shrieking from outside the house! They were playing Formula 1 on the wii!0 -

That would be wonderful - didn't know you could do that! (Share kindle books, I mean, not read Cadfael novels!) What info would you need?Blackbeard_of_Perranporth wrote: »BoP did not like bacon that was boiled, see Saturday pages of the BoP fest! Nor does he like Broad Beans, God's creation to punish cooks.
Generally I am in complete agreement with your dietary advice, but I have to disagree with you on both counts here: I adore boiled bacon, and am very fond of broad beans, too. Oh well, more for me!
1) My lilac double crocuses have bulbs on them. Particularly odd as they're actually autumn crocuses, but I'll enjoy them even if they don't seem to know what time of year it is!
2) A colleague expressed concerns that I'm still having problems with my stitches more than a week after the op, and recommended I get them checked to make sure I hadn't got an infection. I haven't, but apparently the stitches have been put in too tightly! They're taking them out tomorrow, a few days early, to relieve the constant discomfort. :j
3) Isis whirlwinding with her ball - but only when I'm not looking. :rotfl:
4) A big pan of HM soup simmering on the stove, as it's my favourite soup and pudding night again.
5) Might watch another episode of Top Gear tonight, as it's there.Back after a very long break!0 -
CCP Broad beans are like sprouts. No amount of boiling them to supposed smithereens can change their texture from old, concrete hardened boot leather.
Sits, rubs tum.0 -
'Just in' trills &.
1. Early>Ancience Discount Day at B&Q. Long-brewed, decision reached: slightly spendy day. Re-stock GOOD torches various. New batteries doing less and less, so necessary.
Online research last night. Big one, smaller one, head one bought. Pleased, esp. as o/n price change saved another £7 something.
2. Leccie/Gas rebates confirmed, at which point & corrected their records.

3. Used same early outs to deliberately acquire certain sparrer soup essentials for That Right Taste:T and still early enough for.......
4. Bus Pass freebie to BStE avec MONKEY NUTS REMEMBERED FOR SQUIRRELS. Freezing low grey all day everywhere Fenny, but book/pomme/nana/Thermos and black green tea equipped, &'s fine. Love those old Abbey Gardens, One week on, aconites up everywhere, so Cloth of Gold, along with more gorgeous smelly sarcoccca[esp. outside Chaps' Heads, for a reason, je me demande?]
Doesn't take long. Here they come. A touch hesitant, but only for 1st nano-second, then dainty taking, gentle little claws, fast scoots off and territorials MAJOR over invisible 'MY Buryings Here. YOU, clear orf! And don't look at me.' Up and back, up and back, enchanting, mutual chats, some little noises from chests and throats, and then a settling in regular queues of four- to eight, each taking their turn[and nut]before bounding off. Pigeons city and wood, gulls, muscling in, snatching, mugging. Robins, blackbirds, dunnock, managed to ensure all had something.
Hungry weather, hard times.
Wonderful couple of hours - frozen:).
5. Therefore day in reverse, CS's on way back up hill>bus instead of usual on way down. Might have spotted a v.g. keenly priced ring or 2. 'Somewhat distorted' says tag. It's nothing to fix and a real one-off, with a freshwater pearl dangling. Potential:D...
5a....into spirit of things, nice lady in old-fashioned sweet shop patiently sorted out 'mademoiselle lara melissa'[1 on St V] in naughty letters for & to send off demain....oh, and new jar of today's broken Belgian choc bits just happened to arrive on counter at same time.

so 5 for me today -
1. Satnav took me the back roads to my meeting to avoid a traffic jam (it worked) and found some lovely villages I had never passed through before - might need to go and investigate when I have more time!!! It reminds me of how little time I spend exploring places just under my nose in this frantic and constantly time limited life - need to think about this!!!
2. Got a funny badge from my tutor to celebrate 2/3 of the way through the course!!!
3. Great catch up with fellow students reflecting on the last 18 months - wow how much my life has changed for the better in that time!!! part of that reason is my thinking about money and the meaning of success - definitely helped by the people I have met on my DFW journey on this forum - (you know who you are) - lots of good thinking today!!!
4. Initial ideas about dissertation forming (its a start!!!)
5. DD3 back from her London trip full of smiles and stories!0 -
Evening All,
I'm contemplating going to bed now as I'm feeling rather tired this evening.
1 - Good day in work, good achievements.
2 - Signing up to another free course. Hopefully this one will help with my
own personal development.
3 - Using up freezer foods and sticking to my meal plan.
4 - Treating myself to something new. Not OS but not expensive and was
something I needed.
5 - Wearing a special necklace that makes me smile.0 -
Good evening everyone :hello:
Sorry, just dropping by.
1) Walked loads yesterday!
2) rattling through my to do list, but have now reached a brick wall.
3) Lovely, clean bedding! Love it!
4) Researching recipes for Friday's bake off group at school. I'm thinking cheese straws....
5) Bought some sun cream from Boots, but it was in their "clearance" section. Still got it on BOGOF. :j :j
6) Coffee with a friend.
Right, time to sort out some stuff then it's off to bed. Night allSealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Evening all
Broomstick - ah Mange tout mange tout

DD - sorry you are having a carp time. Love's labours lost sounds a treat
Ampersand - loving the picture of the 84 year old stripping down the lawnmower.
Dfor V = ooh, dehydrated mango sounds yum. Mango is one of my Favourite Things - even more than chocolate. One of the hotel treats was mango for breakfast every day - prepared by someone else, even better. Loving the sleeping bag imagery. But boy talks sense
BoP - boiled bacon and broad beans? Bleurgh
CCP - hope you are more comfy after stitch removal
Everyone else - thanks for your pleasures, they have kept me going these past few weeks.
Mine for today
1. Had a full (though short) nights sleep drug free. Hopefully completely ok now
2. Signed contract on Ice cream house. :T Solicitor made us :rotfl: with his pessimism - "what about flooding?" "what if the owner is a fraudster" "there's radon gas" "why do you WANT this house?"By the time i'd related this to a colleague he'd invented Russian / mob links, submarines coming onto shore, radon guns and drug runners - I had previously thought the most exciting thing to happen there was that Dolly's cafe was open on a wednesday afternoon and the camping shop had a sale on :rotfl:
3. Interviewed prospective students - really enjoyed it and loved their enthusiasm
4. Cottage pie for tea
5. Marking load one completed - the last piece was cracking. fair made my heart swell that SOMEONE had listened.
nighty nightyI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
VJsmum Congratulations:j
DD: Sending cake and bubbly,
A bit food centric pleasures
Needed to do a food shop, and did pick up a couple of yellow stickers but I’m glad we are stocked up on freezer meat as we’ve not hit lucky for a few weeks now.
Breakfast was bacon and egg in 9p fresh rolls.:p
Tip run all done.
Remembered to make a sandwich to take with us while visiting dad loaded up with bits and pieces for him.
Came home to the smell of a lamb casserole slowly cooking through0
