5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Rubbish day today - seems like a lot of it around! Work tiring, home to kids fighting, Rev Mother in a flap, me loosing temper and DD2 not feeling well! Running round too much tonight as friend who shares DS drop offs and pick ups to Cadets said her OH couldn't do it because he was tired!! - he finished nights this morning and has been in bed all day!!! Bless! - not feeling understanding or charitable - which is not like me!!! need a shake!
so will try to find 5 in the hope it helps me shake this grump!!!
1. I have a great job even if today was not fun!!! (did get my budget signed off though which is good!!!)
2. NSD (5 so far in Feb!)
3. Friend has come to the rescue with cake decorating - I am going to a friends 50th birthday on Sunday - I offered to get the cake - I was going to buy one so got a price from a cake lady - it was £50!!!!! so phoned a friend who also makes cakes (but can't fit me in!) and going to borrow all the decorating stuff from her to do it myself - approx. cost will be £20 once I have bought all the ingredients - and might even enjoy doing it!!!
4. Made lovely chorizo and vegetable pasta bake this morning for dinner so among the chaos and bad temperedness we had a nice dinner!
5. DD3 is off to London on a trip tomorrow - she is so excited! Not really OS but it made me smile to see her so excited - my little girl is growing up (even if she was fighting with her brother like a 2 year old earlier!!!)
Off to bed - hope normality resumes tomorrow!!!!0 -
So.......last Sunday cook colleague called me and said she'd fallen off a ladder, trying to get a carrier bag out of the palm tree in her garden, it was blowing in the wind and annoying her ,instead of moving the ladder nearer she'd stretched, it tipped over, she'd fallen, hurt herself , had to get neighbour to put car in the garage, she couldn't do it, would go to doctors in the morning .....?she probably wouldn't be in all week. That's fine, what a shame but I managed to swap shifts around, had to do with only one day off work and one day off this week ( and for foreseeable future )
I sent her a text everyday enquiring how she was after she'd said she had cracked a rib and sprained a wrist. She didn't reply and didn't pick up her phone when I repeatedly had tried to call.
Then on Thursday evening I got a text to say she wouldn't be returning and would send me an email the next day. Didn't get that. Again tried to call and sent a text asking her to confirm that she wasn't returning and to hand key in.
Yesterday , main colleague sent her a text and lo and behold she got a reply last night.....wait for it!
No fall off a ladder, no cracked ribs etc.....she has a stalker and was worried he would come to work and harm us! When MC asked why she didn't go to police she was all vague and they won't be able to do anything.
It's not often I am gobsmacked , it's not often I swear like a trooper.....I was both this morning ! It may be true but seems so far fetched and why make up such a bizarre story? Your thoughts please!
So , after a very incredulous start to my day, it could surely only get better?
Had nice chat with my friends partner ...(who is also a friend! )
Bought shocking pink tape for my feet!
Popped into Salvos and bought a gorgeous quilted bed spread and 3 rather splendid tops for not very much money.
Popped into hairdressers so appointment made for Thursday .much needed.
Snoozette.
Took DD2 ( after another good day at school) to her appointment. Started a new library book whilst I waited for an hour .
Quick home and then quick back out again to parent teacher interview at school.
Dinner of stir fry with veggies and the end of the ham I sliced at work today.
It's bedtime again, it's been a very hot day and even hotter tomorrow so shall have bedside fan on all night again.
Hoping for a less dramatic day tomorrow! Surely that's possible!
Have a good Tuesday0 -
mhags - that one was never going to be an employee asset; as well to know now.
Every likely future 'mare with her WON'T happen in your work place.
Obviously, the girl needs help via other agencies, could be workshy generally and will pull similar stunts wherever she goes.
Previous workplace refs can sometimes be 'glad to see the back of x' farewells.
So glad to read DD2's school has started straight in as a happier place for her.

The pink furry bunnies have had their lugs torn off by incessant behaviour of the children. Please take care in reading this!
Stood up, by a stud? toast and honey, BoP foods! Cats are out in &land Jacket spuds and Bolognese. Giddy legs everywhere. Siestas, soup in a flask. More Spag Bol. Easy Judi, get some wobbleade in yer! And cake. Make sures you share it. Happier plaices.
5 Left over curry is now brewing on the stove from yesterday. No harm is done. Just like old nan BoP, who had no fridge. The rice of pudding was maid on Sunday! by Thursday it had a crust. And it never came off the stove, proper dish, enamelled and well burnt as well. Lovely stuff!
4 And on the proper foods bit, now yous know that BoP minds people about the foamed drinks, available at the extortionate emporiums, well best you all butter your chops this day as it is good for you, pure natural. Now what chemical plant did that spread come from? Sits down, rubs tum, churns a cheese marmite sandwich out and spreads it with real butter, drinks tea, leaf version. Rubs tum! And there goes the blessed radio with an advert for chemical infuse carp spread, available from the emporium. Minds me, that we has £2.50 in T vouchers. May pop in later this month for cocoa.
3 Now in SPARRA Lands there is programme oin the radio, that has BoP in stitches! I mean Stitches. Everyday the proletariat ring in with their first world problems and ... Lasted until the savages ripped in this day!
2 nite me and BoPsie will be watching the soccer. Live of course, from the comfort of BoP lounge, while snoggled up on the sofa!

The soup recipe Ampersand -
2 sticks celery (not heads, like a friend put in )
1 yellow pepper
1 large red onion
¼ white cabbage. I used Sweetheart
1 med sweet potato
2 cloves garlic
2 bay leaves
1 chicken stock cube dissolved in 1pt water
Level tsp mixed herbs
1 cooked chicken breast
Put the chicken breast to one side and prepare and dice everything else. Put it all in the slow cooker on hot until it bubbles, turn to low and leave for 4 hours. When everything is soft blend but leave a little bit chunky. Shred the cooked chicken breast finely, add to the sc and mix well. When cold I store it in 1pt milk containers or polythene boxe and freeze. When defrosted it will be very thick so add a little water or chicken stock to suit before reheating in a bowl. 1 pint makes about 3/5 bowls, depending on how much liquid you add. Lovely, if not so healthy, served with chunks of warm baguette
1. DS is going for an interview for a 'dream job' but likes the benefits of what he's doing. It was nice to be asked for my input so I suggested he goes to the interview then sleeps on it, sound advice my DM used to give to me.
2. Spent most of yesterday cleaning the house and doing laundry. Changed the bedding and put on a new duvet set, it looks so beautiful and light since the room was redecorated.
3. For relaxation I had several sessions on the tm then got the weights out, then had a chocolate biscuit and a 2 hour siesta
4. Another beautiful day today, primroses, snowdrops in bloom, daffodils pushing though, buds on the apple, pear and white lilac trees, such a lot going on in the garden it lifts my spirits. & I have the Lonicera Sweet Sue which smells gorgeous when in bloom from late Spring through to the Autumn.
5. Getting ready to go swimming this evening with DNeighbour and her DD, loving my new hobby
Have a good rest of the day/evening0 -
Do you want a laugh, because our insurers couldn’t stop laughing when I phoned to see if we were insured and thankfully we are.
Those “perfect” floor to ceiling mirrored doors we picked up had made it to the top of stairs, DH and I couldn’t move them so we strapped them all together to make sure they were secure or so we thought.:o
At about half past midnight, the most sickening cracking smashing shattering everywhere. Our main concern was that it was caused by the animals and could we account for them all after we removed all of the shattered doors from through the stairs, they were all safe sound and in the dog house. As we took stock of the damage all of the pictures and frames taken off the wall on the way, they went through the stairs and damaged other stairs, it took various balustrades with them and 5 big shattered panes of glass everywhere to clear up in the night.
We looked at the damage and decided it out weigh’s DH’s DIY:( ability so phoned the insurers after they literally finished howling with laughter, they thankfully said we are covered. :rotfl:
DH was fine last night but he’s “brewing” today with pride damaged, and the animals are “skulking” having been confined to one room now for about a week or so while we redecorate, so trying to peace keep as everyone seems to be making themselves scarce.
1-5 Glad I had sorted out the office as all the insurance paperwork was to hand, and of course all the animals alright.
6.I’ve not seen anyone all day – so I cleaned the house from top to bottom.
7. I’ve meal planned a prawn salad baguette for lunch and easy fajita’s and sides for tea, it’s been nice being at home being able to plan all the food rather than just dinner, and having time for porridge in the morning.:)
8. Relaxed with a cuppa watching the birds:)
9. Dug arm weights out of the drawer:o, looked up exercises and started a few not many but starting.
10. Mr T in a bit, aiming and hoping for some RTC’s0 -

I'd like more than a minute with David Tennant :rotfl:

4. Walking home in daylight.
5. Less than half price Kerrygold in Mr M's - I only eat Kerrygold (note for BoP - grass fed cows, you see!) Took half a dozen, but would like to have taken more, felt it would be too greedy.
More marking this evening - have a good one allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
