Well, the hotel anyway,,haven't been in yet - hoping to in the week though
What a fantastic day
1 woke at 7.30, no jet lag:T
2 great meeting with Singapore colleagues
3 went for a stroll jn the sunshine, found some old colonial buildings, went to take a photo, and horrors, realised I had left my phone in the restaurant at lunchtime. Fortunately they still had it
4 invited to Singaporean colleagues house for dinner. What a treat
5 did some marking by the pool this morning
Enjoy the rest of your dayI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Vjsmum: Wow that’s jet set, is it for work/leisure or both.
Ampersand: We will be doing the birdwatch tomorrow also, hoping it puts in an appearance.
I’m sure some else mentioned it but I am also not a fan of the “this girl can” adverts, they make me feel uncomfortable.
1.The gas and leccy bill landed today, massive savings on our electric bill I was incredulous how far below our estimated reading we are,and we have been very very careful, however with us both being home more at the moment and heating the house the gas cancelled out the saving – boo:(, but still at least it balanced.
2.There were no leftovers from the take away last night we were hungry.
3. We wanted to avoid the shops today so we went for a walk instead:), we have a lovely quarry behind us and walked a ferret each. :rotfl:They are a bit like marmite to people they either love or hate them but either way they feel they have to loudly tell us their opinions, today though it was lovely to meet chaps who loved them, we ended up at our local P@H where they picked out bell toy and we picked up a magazine that DH has been published in.:T
4. Saw bulbs coming up on our walk, we did have crocus’s out in the garden but the frost has caught them, and it is a bit ambitiously early.
5. We popped to lidl as I wanted veg, we picked up the half price chicken legs for the animals, and fresh bread and mushrooms for a grilled brekkie tomorrow, it was nice to shop there far less fussed than Mr T, DH was saying he doesn’t remember the last time we bought any meat full price.:D
6. I used all of the leftovers to clear the fridge so we had bubble and squeak topped with an egg, a portion of the big ham, and a freezer lottery kiev.:rotfl:0 -
No BoP, Bob's my cousin
VJsmum Ex OH was based at Tanglin with the Chinese regiment for 4 years and spent many an evening at Raffles, I'll enjoy reading about your adventures in Singapore
Frith and & I love hearing about unusual or relevant names. As a child my dentist was Mr Puller
1. Went to the nearby market town to pick up my ring, it now fits perfectly. Wore it home then put it away safely until there's an 'event' when I can wear it.
2. Shopped in asda, was surprisingly more expensive than @ldi so just got some essentials and will do @ldi when I'm out for lunch tomorrow. I did manage to get a diary there, it's the first year I haven been given at least 2 and only cost 50p so can't complain.
3. Managed to replicate the chicken and veg soup I made last week, will blow my own trumpet and say it's the best I've ever tasted either home made or in a restaurant
4. Called into a cs and got an Olay gift set and a Crabtree and Evelyn hand wash and hand cream set for a total of £3. I was going to keep them for gifts but I think I'll just keep them
5. Met a friend who treated us both to a tea and doughnut. Will have to work harder on the tm this evening but it was worth it
Enjoy your evening0 -

1....having spent some while looking up at beautiful sky - waxing moon, double-diamond Sirius sparkler, big cheese Venus, further off Mars - all stunning tonight. Wish I could add Betelgeuse: I like its name so much:-)
2. Back from The Alma:-))))))))))))))))))Toulon 26-3, away at Scarlets. & was sole watcher! Again that boy Steffon is MoM. Toulon were a great team today. Some sad Tigers though Vicky - looked for you, and I don't know what you look like:-) Universal glum and much head-shaking for green men. Current topsy-turviness of round and oval ball scores is bizarre. &'s lightbulb pens!e en route back: global warming:-) Blame it.
3. Watched robins, tits, dunnocks and wrens playing through old raspsberry canes. I'll pretend that's why they still aren't cut down.
4. Gate ring came off in my hand, but I'm not spending £13.99 for a whole new latch. So far okay, can pull it to and padlock holding letter box. Car boot with purpose demain.
5. In sorrow at what I heard on Europe 1 as I arrived back just now: one of the Japanese hostages has been brutally murdered. I don't know how today's delivery of my 10 copies of Charlie Hebdo copes with being written as 'pleasure' , but these things are strongly linked for me. I read it in The Alma and it drew several other francophiles in. Good long talk and sharing with one man.

Evening all!!!:hello: Not long back from my travels to Bonny Scotland - and bonny she was indeed!!! Have had an amazing time catching up with family and making new friends - wedding was tasteful and posh hotel gorgeous - and no where near as pretentious as I thought it would be!!! Had such a great few days that 5 pleasures seems like an impossible task when I could possibly come up with 50!!!
1.Family and friends - old and new - memories made and laughs shared (and sore feet from dancing!!:D)
2. Didn't blow the budget - sneaky bottle of wine and kids drinks in the room to keep the costs down!
3. No delays on the trains meaning all connections made in good time (8 trains in 2 days so not bad going statistically!)
4. 3 well behaved kids and Reverend mother - means stress levels remained low throughout the trip! (Minor miracle!!!:rotfl:)
5. Always nice to come home to cosy warm house (with new boiler!) and a happy waggy tailed Doodle
And another Scottish wedding to look forward to in September!!!0 -
Evening all....it's very pleasantly cool at 19o but breezy and just lovely after a week of just plain hot!
Yesterday , as I drove to work I saw a kookaburra, the most amazing vista of the city with 8 hot air balloons in the sky above! Lovely!
Went a very brisk walk around parklands with OH and dog this afternoon with an amazing cool wind in our faces.
Laughing as my six foot son, a scooter, a dog with a broom and a paddling pool had lots of fun this evening !
All my sunflowers have flowered .
Looking forward to my final shift of this stretch tomorrow , we've had a quieter week so have got lots of things done that we don't always have time to do. So just tomorrow which is Australia Day, a public holiday , so probably busy , to do then 2 days off.
It's Burns Day today, I have one tunnocks teacake and a can of irn bru to crack open0 -
Airbrush
RSVP, flocking not! Sunflowers upside down! Back from haggis lands. I see the tits have been on & lawns. Sparra, makes yous cousin once removed, Bills, check them deals! And double posting as well to grab that post! VJ. Hmmm, he gets about! Easily!
5 Went up northj to see the nieces yesterday, and they are absolutely besotted with their favourite uncle, I can say. Mind you, feeding them tom soup, could only ask for troubles. Then to the footy.
4 Printed again, only five more. Oh bollards, seems that BoPsie got named. All that hard work gone to ...
3 Had home maid sticky chickens last night, with money offs. Now the bread we gots last eve, reduced to 10 pennies each, and buy two for £2. It cost them 50 pennies for us to take them off their hads. Currently being toasted! Bar Guns. BoP shoping looks for BAR GUNS!
2 Day, BoP's doing a new fresh load of home maid veg soup. Carrots, cherpy cherpy cheap cheap, onions, celery and leak, With added spinach and tastes. should see us through to March!

Nothing exciting but...
1. Cat announced at 8.10am we need to be out of bed :rotfl:usually it is me advising her it is getting up time
2. Had a nice walk with the dog this morning, sunshine was out, a cold breeze, but still a nice day for January!
3.Popped in to see a friend and had a cappuccino with her and a chat. The went to Farmfoods and loaded the car up with loo rolls
4. No laundry in the bin and no ironing in the basket :T
5. Cup of tea and a catch up in here after 18 months or so away!
And I really know I should not add a number 6 but I will - finally I have been able to say that there is nothing I want for my Emma Bridgewater collection on my dresser! DH breathes huge sigh of relief because it is heaving with the stuff even though i had a sell on fleabay before we moved last year. No, no I really, really mean this, there is nothing, not a diddly, nadda thing that I covert or desire...
...yet!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:
