    Evening all :)

Congratulations to the Frith clan and welcome to the baby. Hugs to your sister too.

    Five recent pleasures:

    1. Muddled through the last few days with the cough/cold bug which was especially dire on Monday but stuck the heating on 24/7 guilt-free to help with the getting well so it's been very cosy.

    2. Seeing my favourite four year old the other evening.

    3. Catching up on a backlog of iplayer over the last few days: Broadchurch, Univ Challenge, Last Tango, Midwives etc.

    4. Found another wadge of books to trade-in with A****n. I'll send those off tomorrow.

    5. Replaced the ground spike for the rotary line with something more substantial and it seems a lot firmer. Mended all the corners of the Rotaire cover (which have worn through) with duck tape so it's all functioning again and we can catch up with the laundry backlog. :)

    Sweet dreams

Shall just pop in and say hello, not sure I've made 5 pleasures today, not a bad day just a day at work. We were not overly busy so got some things done that needed doing.

A new girl was supposed to start at 12 and sent me a text at 11 to say she had a headache....then sent me the text I assume was for her boyfriend!
She came in at 3pm to see how we close.

Main colleague sent me a text to say she can't come in tomorrow , really , really sorry etc ( to be fair she's pretty consistent with attendance) .....then I see on FB her rabbit has died! Really?

Thought I'd just sweep away some cobwebs off the high windowsill in the bathroom at work.....bad idea......swept at least 400 baby spiders everywhere, I was covered in them, the wall was covered, the floor was covered. I was very upset!

However, I didn't have long to wait for a train, the train was blessedly cool, (it's a very hot 36o at the moment) , the ice creams I bought were on special offer....I even shared them with my children! ) ,the dog was pleased to see me and the washing is dry in super quick time! There that was a very condensed 5!

Having cold turkey salad tonight for tea and a cool(er) weather change due in 2 hours! Always onwards and upwards!

    Have a great day :)

    4. £10 haircut instead of £20
    5. Packing all done last night for wedding trip today! very organised for a change!

Getting sorted to leave now with the rev mother and the gang - DD1 not coming :( as she's poorly sick!

    Thanks, everyone.

Sister is having another blood transfusion this morning to try and boost her up a bit. Sounds like pre eclampsia is lessening. Baby is fine!

  • Difficult few days, but trying to be positive so this thread must be the place!
    1. OH has been incredible while dealing with difficult 'guin times.
    2. Played with Keats for a while tonight, his idiocy is wonderful.
    3. Leftover curry from the freezer with YS naan. Delish.
    4. Bought a colouring book at the weekend and am finding it a wonderful way to clear the mind before bed. Very soothing and slightly hypnotic!
    5. Got Friends on while I settle down for the eve.

Welcome new baby to the world! Hope the mama gets better soon

Frith - big hugs to your sister.

    Quick pleasures today.

    1) Haircut. Not OS in the price he charges, but a lovely haircut nevertheless.

    2) Omelette cooked by DH for supper. Yum.

    3) Weekend plans sorted. :j DH and I will be doing lunch on Saturday in a nice pub - which one is still TBC, but there are deals on at lunchtimes which aren't on in the evening.

    4) Trying not to waste too much time. I'm trying to work out *where* my week goes. The other day I spent 4hrs on *faffing* over the course of the day. Not too much faffing tonight. :)

    5) Watching "Death in Paradise". Bit of a guilty pleasure. Love it.

Firth: Sending healing thoughts, hope your DS is much better very soon to enjoy the new family.
The not so good, I had some news that the job offer “isn’t quite an offer” this morning! I cannot re iterate how much I do not like lying middle party recruiters, I go back in tomorrow to discuss. I’m of the mind that sod it if it doesn’t firm up it’s not meant to be and carry on looking.
I’ve had a day of “de ja vous” as vivid as vivid.:o

1.Did a L&dl shop, and bought some animal chicken every last bit in the pressure cooker turned into a convalescence type food for the oldies, some might say we spoil them, but they are our family.
    2. I’m feeling a bit bleugh, with ups and downs, but feel generally happy, just worn out emotionally, seem to be having hours of phone calls with dads carers but not really getting anywhere, and feeling just generally awful about the decisions I am needing to make for him
    3. I’ve made progress in the “box room/office” and I am feeling inspired to well use it as an office, if only I could pin down “what for” 2 more piles of paperwork to go, :)
    4. We went to pick up a dish washer we are hoping to make one good one out of ours and it, we popped into this house, the lady had animals and children and the place was spotless seriously immaculate to the point of an ideal home show house, literally no clutter what so ever, the only item on the wall was one photo. I was in awe, but it wasn’t “home”.
    5. The car was playing up but DH has temporarily fixed it while we order in an alternator and battery.:)

PK so sorry to hear about the job 'offer', hope something positive comes of your visit to the agency. Re your No.1, I spend more time cooking for the dog and mogs than I do for myself. only an animal owner would understand ;)
mandaguin hope things improve for you soon
Frith pleased the little one is okay, hope your DS makes a steady recovery
judi enjoy the weekend, but sorry to hear DD1 is too poorly to join you :(
& got an email about IC having a mega sale. I only had a look...:o

    1. A payment into my bank account for doing surveys, which will pay for presents for two birthdays next week
    2. Went swimming, managed 12 normal strokes at a time (and 3 panic ones when I realised I was well out of my depth :rotfl:). Swam up and down several times though, felt quite pleased with myself
    3. Treated myself to a pot of yellow dahlias rtc from £3.99 to 75p. Deadheaded it and found lots of buds so plenty of life in it yet
    4. Talking of yellow, the yt was in full force most of the day. Icy cold, but lovely and bright
    5. Saw a young eagle which had flown off from the nearby birds of prey centre last week. Called in to let them and they went straight out to the spot I'd sighted it. I hope they managed to recapture it.

    Sweet dreams :)
