Sorry tealady
. I won't feel so guilty if you buy something too though..
BoP I've not been to one of those cloned shopping centres for years, I much prefer the local market towns where the individual traders are still hanging on. I can live without superstores, escalators and flash mobs.
1. Woke to a white world, every car, garden, tree and bush merged into each other under a heavy layer of frost. Sparkling and bright with the yt shining down on the square
2. Had my hair cut at college, they'd made a mistake and told me today was a student day but when I got there it was professionals only. I asked for the student price of £7 as it was their mistake and after humming and hawing for a minute they agreed. Pleased about that, professional price is £23!
3.The jeweller rang to say my (DM's) ring is ready, I had to have it enlarged 1 size. I'll be wearing it with pride at a family wedding in the Spring, might have to have a security escort though
4. Planted up some cuttings of DM's jade plant, or money plant, for family members. The superstitious would say that you should never buy a money tree but must be gifted one if you want to stay solvent. I'm not at all superstitious but of course we all do!
5. DGD3 has just got her driving licence application, we won't have any problems knowing what to give her for her birthday this year

Good evening everyone :hello:
A busy day, spent at an ICT in education exhibition in that there London village. I went with a colleague from another school and we whipped round it in 1hr 30 mins. We did everything we needed to do, investigated what we needed to, got the discounts we required and then had a lovely leisurely lunch! Before making the trek home, that is!
So, some pleasures for today:
1) Free pens galore!
2) NPD - colleague drove to the staion.
3) Pay day today! :j :j
4) There's a photo of me in the local newspaper with my cake from Monday's cake club. If it makes their website then I'll share it with you!
5) Adding to my page on Pinterest. Love it!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
A post which was here yesterday with Auntie Frith's has disappeared. Never mind.
sparrer - enjoyed your Flash Mob. A stunning virtuoso performance happened the other day in the Grand Arcade, there being a piano near John Lewis - long may it stay there.
1. Usual 'just in', but with added 'king prawns[rtc] omelette avec emporium promo green beans with NZ olive oil and chopped garlic' eating time, listening to a Yellow Army team manage nul points against another nul points....
Seems to be A Result, as round ball games go. Everyone on r5 is very excited
2. No wonder the Fens were empty tonight. And dark. And bitterly cold. And mizzly. And & came in to warm squat - like Broomstick, have treated self to 2 days of full-time heating.
3. Day's schedule abandoned after txt from dear neighbour[many mentions passim] - husband simply didn't wake this morning. She has given him valued Life against all odds for many years - a proud man, former police inspector, felled by a stroke before & lived here. Quality of Life has lessened, long plateaux, intermittent crises but he has been mostly happy, articulate re: own vividly peopled interior world.
Blessings to them both. So glad our Vicar was there.
4. Same em here sparrer and tealady, with another just now extending Flash Sale:

bop - lady b has until treize heures demain to choose New Best Shed booties for merely a week's £mporium shop
[n.b.No Live Housekeeping Was Used In This Calculation]
5. Woman's Hour broadcast a phone-in response from 'Mrs Trellis'
[not 'of North Wales', sadly]. Obviously, & awarded immediate Unbelievable Truth points. But Bonus came via politics snipe page in emporium Times ce soir - all about Mr Kitkat, Leader of Brighton and Hove Council....his first name's Jason:-) Mrs Trellis and Mr Kitkat - love it. Both are true.
6. 3-day npd run ended today - not bad at all, considering various things.
7. Through last night, 4-episode catch-up of Les Engrenages/Spiral, &'s gritty Paris noir dysfunctional/egofictional crime series. I love it, a/f.

Thinking of my lovely neighbour, Auntie Frith's little niece and sister as new maman and protective papa b-i-l...........:-)

Stay safe and snug everyone.
[Darn, just realised I forgot to check at stables en route back - carrots for neighbour's bunnies.]

Greetings all, sorry for the absence - I am in sunny Singapore
Am still supposed to be marking though - I don't know, I fly 6,500 miles - and I still can't escape the marking. Damn you, Internet :rotfl:
Hope everyone is well, am hoping to catch up with the thread soon - still no chicken?
Some pleasures
It is warm and sunny
Flight was bumpy - but I overcame my nerves...... Mostly
The first flight from Manchester to Dubai was amazing. Business class on the A380 - spent most of it in the bar where there was a party:beer: mostly ordinary folk like us - most going on holiday. Met some amazing people - including many "women of a certain age" holidaying alone. I know we were well oiled but it was truly inspirational.
Everyone here is lovely,
My new bathroom is gorgy and the other one should be finished before I get back. Let's hope OH clears up after the builders
My house is getting organised, thanks to the Kondo thread
Some beautiful crisp clear frosty mornings recently (in UK, not Singapore - apparently it never goes below 20)
I slept 8 hours last night - I think the jet lag will set in tonight.
That's all for now - that marking is really calling. Though I would prefer to sightseeI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Ampersand - locally we have a lot of Bytheway families! Also went to college with Miss Howjego.0
