Ahhh rules shmules - meant to be broken even if they don't exist or I don't understand them - you folks talk in riddles sometimes!!! (but I kind of like it!!!):p
Sits down, tea in hand, biscuit and rubs tum.
Brush, pure bristles of pig, soaped. Face wetted. Blades run. Smooth. Beard trimmed, edges roughed. Want a tickle? Bob and tocker, best on. Tie, knotted the Windsor way. Shoes spit and polished. Bu99er, I am walking to this one.0 -
My lovely Uncle Bert died this morning, aged 95.
My sister phoned at 11 to say she has pre-eclampsia. She is being induced right now.
It's fair to say we are all quite emotional!0 -
Old Uncles :heartpuls
no comments for that innings!
5 Interview went well I thinks so. Maybe!!! Crossed fingers etc.
4 Seems the IE has locked into no show for MSE again and made all the words bald! And we has just saved another £5 a month on the nrg tariffs, down to £71 a month. Better in pocket of the BoP
3 Now where was the BoP, oh yeah, saving pennies here there and everywhere. And the packet of the Honey Monsters cereal has been opened this morning and covered in fresh proper milk, not that plastic soya stuff that cows dream of. Very tasty and sets the BoP up for the hard and varied tasks of the day!
2 Nite, inn from the cold, is BoPsie. Best of three Scrabble, and she comes back in. Lose and another night in the shed, and the paraffin has waxed. Need I say more? She has yet to apologise for the loss of her housekeeping money on Saturday last. How wasteful was that!
1 The rules are there for playing, and for ...
And for chief man MSE, get this sorted for IE 10 and the latest protocols on the net0 -
BOP: Good luck
Firth: Hugs.
Judi: Confuzzled, didn't know about rulz.:)
1-100 I’ve got a job, - well I have a great job offer:j:j, I have a couple of concerns so they are meeting with me again in a couple of days:T. Wow it happened so fast. They mentioned about talking to me Friday, a phone call Monday, an interview Tuesday and offer on the train on the way back.0 -
Evening all :hello:
Huge hugs to Frith & family. xxx
BoP - fingers firmly crossed.

Pleasures for today & yesterday:
1) It was my cake club meeting last night. Lovely cakes, fab company and a great pub for a venue. We always give the hosts a large plate of cake, with a sample from each cake. The lady behind the bar thought she was in heaven!
2) Spoken to a friend who has a new job in a school in my town. Day 2 and she's finding it ok.
3) Booked a couple of tickets for the cinema in the local arts centre. Costs £3 less per ticket than the large multiplex in the bigger towns, but you do have to wait a little while until the films come to town. I think I can survive waiting.
4) DH has discovered a free comedy festival for a few weekends time. :j
5) Have done the "big shop" tonight. Bought the smallest size of laundry liquid as it was FAR cheaper per litre than the larger sizes. Madness. So that these large multinationals look as though they're in tune with the community, this pack of P*rsil came with eyes and a red dosing ball for the nose (for Comic Relief). Hugs to frith. My friend's mum who lives in oz was taken poorly friday with very bad prognosis. Friend dashed out friday and her mum died yesterday. Very sad but very pleased she got out there in time
1) rest of macaroni cheese for lunch. My turn to buy the teas and kittykat
2) got rid of three text books to help yerself table in upstairs coffee room. Feeling :A
3) got my talks finished for india (phew) decided not to mention the cricket  but woke up :j
4) have now packed. I hate packing, i hate getting to the airport. Ok once i'm on the plane. Trying to decide if i should take kettle et al as per norm. Only taking hand luggage and need 2kg spare for gifts for hosts
5) pleased to find sockets i bought for south africa are same as for india. And i knew exactly where they were. And the dollars :-) (not able to buy any rupees outside india)

Great news Purple Kitten:T Hope success comes your way too BoP!
My work has been stressy and busy today but shouldn't complain - it is work and pays the bills - generally love my job but lots of hills to climb over the next few months and seems overwhelming today (not sleeping doesn't help!!!)
But positives a plenty!!!
1. I have a job that makes a difference to people - that I love and keeps me remembering the important stuff - today was just a yeugh day and tomorrow will be better!:D
2. I am only working 3 days this week - off to a wedding Thurs and Friday!:T
3. Passed my last assignment with best mark so far - very happy!!!
4. NSD :A
5. Clean bed sheets tonight - they smell lovely (used lavender to help me sleep!) - just needs to work now!!!0 -
Welcome back to the fold SS
(((Frith)))
Congratulations PK
Have just heard that 25 y/o DGD1 has to have a biopsy on Thursday as her recent routine test showed abnormal cells. Everything x'ed she will be fine.
1. Went to DD's for coffee and collect my Christmas present which DGD2 left there for me. Very posh smellies which will be used sparingly
2. Went to the pool but a coach was just dispensing about 40 small schoolchildren, I wasn't going to embarrass myself in front of that lot so left hurriedly. Tues and Thurs mornings are 'seniors hour' but I lingered too long with DD so missed the slot.
3. Dropped in to Mat Alan, picked up a skirt and top for £3 each in their sale. I'd planned to buy only from cs's this year but I would have had to pay the same or more for second hand so don't feel guilty
4. I didn't win a year's Taste Card but my two month one arrived today. Thank you Martin :money:
5. Still no snowbut forecast for tomorrow
.
Sweet dreams0 -
Well done to Pk
DD have a safe trip to India.....the first Of this years travels!
Sparrer hope DGD1 is okay.
frith hope your sister is okay and sad news about your uncle but what a grand age to reach.
judi hope today is a better one at work.
pirate Pete hope you hear about interview soon. Are you still working at old job?
Vicky how was your coconut cake? I emailed myself the recipe as thought I might use it at work.
Well I was up at ridiculously early o'clock to get to work. Main Colleague (MC) and I worked blooming hard this morning, we were laughing at each other. It was pitch black and a possum jumping in front of me gave me the fright of my life....I probably scared it too! And she got out her car to see something in black following her.....her shadow in the streetlight! A pair of wooses.
We were joined with one of the girls who used to work with us ( I got her hours) , she's a teacher and short of cash over summer hols so was looking for some extra shifts. She's lovely.
It's been very hot today and to be very hot tomorrow . Glad of aircon and fans. Glad of a fullish water butt to keep veg patch watered. It looked a sorry sight when I came in from work this afternoon but gave it all a good drink.
Finished my book I started yesterday, shall pass it on to one of my customers. It had a happy ending
Watched Eastenders and Holby whilst I languished next to a fan!
Had a snoozette .
Think that's about all of my pleasures. Have a lovely Wednesday and hopefully we have a new niece or nephew frith soon0 -
Lots of highlight points to read, glad and sad:
Frith - celebrating a new Life and a grand one well-lived. Thinking of you all.
pk - wonderful work news, whirlwind after all.
vicky - I, too, am sums'n'catchweight calculator and these tricks/anomalies are all too common. Can't bear it when other shoppers don't see. I fear I help/advise at times, rather as I do with oval ball men.... Embarrassed easily? Steer clear of & in trolley mode.
bop - fingers as firmly x'd and knotted as tie. Really hope this one comes up for you.
judi - loved 'DS finally discovered how a coat hanger works' and great news re: latest assignment mark:-) [ just make sure you can can give yourself same over Thurs and Fri. That's & in finger-wag speak, ykw:-)]
sparrer - (((((((((DGD)))))))))))

4. Made it from College to big mtg, nearly 2hrs away. The Times They Are A-Changing....people must come together, listen and relate to Other Views: adapt or die. Good f./b technique, making 1 ptnr convey other ptnr's views- 2 min. exercise concentrates minds.
5. Have Luke on loop now - mcculloch, I do hope your group would find a spot for Luke when/if next he finds his way here...
