Pm to bop we's both still in the playoffs. Good stuff
Been out late 3 nights in a row so didnt get to post. So quick catchup from fri and sat
1) very nice hm pasta, tomato lunch which neede a bit of salt. No salt in works kitchen, but then remembered soy sauce in filing cabinet (no i dont know why it's there either!) lish
2) xoh picked me up from late night at work. I managed to get a job done that had i not would have had to have gone in saturday. So very pleased.
3) book club. The children's act ian mcewen. A lot of very heated discussion.
4) home late and dd2 back from edinburgh for weekend. Chatted till about 1 oops
5) xoh over at bf's so had to sort dogs early o'clock. Oh my head! But dogs soooo sweet could only be cross with myself. Large cuppa, couple of ibuprofen and snuck back to bed. Bliss
6) walked dogs up mum's and stayed for lunch. Took dogs home then walked into town to meet dd2 and ds. Ds picking up birthday suit (a dashing blue suit, not a new skin!)
7) bought a couple of soup mugs from homebargains for work and a few other bits and bobs
8) took library book back and have ordered book for next one - housekeeping
9) met pianist friend i spent new years with - he's up to do a concert tonight so i will now be out 4 nights running!
10) just got home and another friend i spent new years with had a spare ticket for the merry widow live from the met. Was i available? So my quiet weekend of decluttering and preparing for india has not happened!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Met a friend for coffee and had a long chat. We met in an independant coffee shop and surroundings and atmospgere are relaxed and with good coffee and polite friendly staff.
Did manage to menuplan and only have to buy milk and bread.
Cooked chicken soup in slow cooker while out watching rugby. Not a pleasure I had hoped after last week that we had learnt how to score tries again bit two weeks in a row is to much too ask. Hope they improve next week as we are going to Castres to see the match.
DS1 managed to get back to uni after the match ok.0 -
Morning all !
Judi - aw sounds like a lovely Saturday with your kids
Mhags - has it really been a year in your job wow time flies
It dull and grey here today so I am still snuggled up in bed. Its been a quiet weekend so far, heres a few pleasures for yesterday
1. after the frost we had a hail storm in the morning. I don't know why but hail always fascinates me (sad I know) and it was a pleasure to be indoors and not to have to get any washing in
2. sky brightened after the hail and it was sunny for the rest of the day. Got some washing out on the line and it mostly dried - including towels - finished off on airers
3. nice lunch from freezer when DS got home from work
4. friend came round. Helped her do some stuff online
5. technically a NSD even though I bought a takeaway ! (Yes I know my new years resolution is now broken)
I paid at my front door on delivery using debit card on the shops mobile card machine but it ran out of paper in the middle of printing the receipt. The delivery driver went back to the shop to get a receipt then came back saying there was a problem with the payment. I've checked with the bank today and the delivery driver must have cancelled the payment by mistake when the machine ran out of paper as the bank say it is cancelled by the merchant. Suppose I will have to ring the takeaway today and arrange payment - after all they know me (regular customer) and did send me a Christmas card

Hoar
Just a letter off a decent porker! Look, these putah problems. Follow bad advise of BoPsie. Don't click on them free so called downloads. That G search tool is as bad as all of them! OMLitS, Wine! Eating cakes! Weather forecast. Burt Ford did it in 30 seconds, these clowns give out yellow things every day. Here is the snow news. Feb 6th. Got it? Missed that so called tea pot affair in 87. Judi, yous only bin here minutes and you already bin naughty. Tut Tut dear! RTule of book, chapter 17, verses 6 to 8 inclusive.
And BoP did plaice his hand inn the pocket, but the bottom was too far down. The wallet remained firmly shut.
And more wine. Oi, Sparra, not up at the crack! Parrots and Ducks. Thanks DD, and the Pasta was eaten as well. Coffee! All hail the bright sky.
5 Oil in the lamp. Now, I noticed this morn as I went of the the motor of BoP, that it was a twaddy cold last eve. In fact a little hoar frost. Luckily enough for BoPsie there was some paraffin, so there was oil for the old gal as well. She decided it would be safer in the shed after her wastefulness of yesterday on thinking against Grimsby. She tried forgiveness this morning, but BoP, of stern stuff he is built, refused all advances. In fact, she blew it!
4 Never realised how big the king size bed is till this morning, and we is about to do some demolition. Bedrooms are due to be done, painted and red they will be. Sop the bed of kings, is about to be sent to the makers. Watch this space. And no worries, we will check the cans this time as well.
3 Tea was the usual Sea Bream, pan grilled in a knob of butter, with peppered flour. Served with new tatties, minted and fresh mushy peas. Not the H variety, but mushed specially in the pan. With, just as I can pour out instant fresh lumpy custard, we had fresh home maid parsley sauce. Washed down to start with mature fresh home maid veggie soup.
2 This eve, me and BoPsie will go out and have a wobbleade to share, at the bridge. As it has been raining recently, the banks may be a bit full.

For yesterday
1.We were up later than we should have been but didn’t feel too guilty
2.Travelled again over to MIL a good ol drive and pretty scenery.
3.Had a lovely time putting the world to rights
4. We got back very late about 2am but still needed to let the animals out for a run so while they ran off steam, we watched lost land of the volcano where they were discovering new species and I was just in complete awe just amazing, particularly the new “caw caw” mammal.:o
For Today
1.Sunday grilled brekkie was nice.
2.Put out some hm fat balls and had a visit from the beautiful woodpecker.
3.Did a “tiny” bit of tidying, of which I achieved one big recycling / shredded bag. But also found another pile of paperwork, but at least we are getting there once it’s done we can start moving stuff to redecorate. Being honest we have realised we have to throw rather than hang on to sell and recycle as we have held onto bits for over 3 years now:eek:, so we are boxing it up and will do one each day to various CS’s it’s hard but we need the space. Also 30 books so far boxed up to CS no amazon value, apart from 24p.
4. Found some rtc sausages in the fridge that don’t look suitable for tasting, so creating a pasta bake and it uses up the last
5.While I should maybe be tidying I am instead going to be watching did you hear about the morgans and reading the latest street cat bob book:rotfl:
6. My new work shoes arrived, reduced from £89 to £27 and I love them, they are very witchy, working on the principle I will look smart when I get my new role.:rotfl:0 -
A collection, life very quiet.
1. Getting lots of worky stuff sorted including one problem that made me think a life in the Diplomatic Corps would be easier....! All sorted without me ruffling any feathers, phew.
2. Not having to go out in any snow. We have snow and the house is much lighter with light reflecting from the white outside. That effect of it I like. I can half- recall a line from a Welsh short story ("Dwy Storm/Two Storms") written many years ago: "He grew tired of the house in the cleanliness of the snow" (no chance of that here).
3. A NZ published book, 'Tips from your Nana', full of OS wisdom and utterly charming, arrived in the post, a mint SH copy. It reminded me of books published thirty years ago, simple things like collages, flour glue and paper aeroplanes to make with toddlers, advice for using simple home remedies...
Something about the whole tone of it reminded me of my first visit to Northern Ireland thirteen years ago. It was like stepping back in time to a gentler, politer age, in the country town I visited, at least.
4. MS meals. The frozen puff pastry for the sausagemeat, apple and onion pasties was nearly 2 years beyond the best buy date and do you know what? It didn't make any difference to it whatsoever. I didn't tell Dr C though.
5. Your pleasures, though I do have a 5th somewhere - oh yes, my heated throw, bought Oct 2013 and keeping me sooo toasty warm for a second winter. Instantly my joints are less stiff and painful when this is over me.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Hi all, looks like everyone's having lovely weeks! A combination of weekend pleasures:
1. Spent most of Saturday lazing - read for a while and took advantage of OH working to play my Lego Hobbit game on his PS3!
2. OH has been very patient during my winter blues the last few days, he's a good egg.
3. Planned up to Wednesday and a set of books marked, easing my guilt about not working after school tomorrow.
4. This week's Disney treat - Fantasia. I definitely did not remember it being quite so strange!
5. Cooked the household fave of goulash, which is making the house smell incredible.February Grocery Challenge - £120.63/1500
