Work was ok and thought of a solution to a problem a collegue is having with the boss.
Managed otherwise to just do job and stay out of politics.
Caught bus to work and gave me good view of river which wasn't as overflowing as i thought it would be.
Watches Death in Paradise.
Enjoyed my walk with my dog.
DH home earlier than normal.0 -
All the storming and snow and hail and sideways rain bulleting and car-lifting wind gusts experienced both sides of channel and only slightly less at &squat now, mixed up with some yellowthing
Even for &, think putting late return's immediately washed washing out on line unwise. Won't be playing with boot and car-door lifting for sort and clear either, not until calmer.
1. Outside Carrefour Calais in meteo as decribed above, but 7th in queue even at 0530h. Camaraderie inevitable during >2hr wait. Grâce à Monsieur PH, [taller, faster]& has copy of Charlie Hebdo: he graciously ceded me his copy, will have obtained own today. On all Fr. and Eng. radio, heard all 700,000 copies sold out in under 5 mins across France. Reprinting 150000 each day until demand is satisfied. All day spent en filant, d'ici là, chaque petite village>grand surface:waiting lists partout. €40 and big addressed envelope left with bar-tabac couple in Dunkerque, round the corner from SPF. They will send when they accrue 10 spares. Madame Holy, lovely name, will keep any surplus for me. I will donate it anyway despite their refusal.
2. Much appreciated hwb on rtn.
3. Library em alerts - small detail, big pleasure, another appreciation of this excellent service.
4. em from Vicar, so change of plan cet après-midi. Will sign for arrival of new fridge-freezer chez person who believes own self-absorbed, bed-ridden, mind-stuck, m.e. scenario/diagnosis. Will prob. read her more Ballard auto-biog., so so aware of & choosing different survival path, every day, especially now.
5. New Bank card already))))))))).
Didn't report the non-pleasure of Paris w/e. &, SO carefully CAREFULLY, hid up albion £allet in hidey back slot of fakery glovebox, only to find that re-opening meant it tipped over into bowels. Fen boy surgery[for which no time] required, so quick trip to Bank. Card cancelled. re-ordered Tues, here Thurs - amazing! Tumbling euro means & building little surpluses in portefeuille française.
6. Slow Dover muckabout rtn ended on Samphire Hoe:
http://www.samphirehoe.com/uk/home/ - and that's where &obile really was lifted sideways, more than several times!
How did & not know about this place? Do now. Wonderful preview of w/e Stargazing Photography [bop alert]Exhbn and Green Gang activities with Bob Flowerdew lookalike:-)))), who insisted[wisely]on holding tight to & between hut and new space.
& loves Big Weather. Spent several lost and happy and thoughtful hours, before tunnel back up closed. Cabin Pressure company on road back to &squat and loving Mark Steel in St Davids again now[real lol]:

Will have to try and help SRUFC overcome Clifton demain - most unlikely - such a necessary corrective to &'s AB bloodline and Toulon terroir glory. Cousin's future AB son has just top-scored 127 not out in Provincial rep. team,[willow+whack] while heading for academic prizes aussi. He's also genuinely modest and good-looking, as & knows....unlike moi)))))))
7.[rafales have dis-ordered chronology=& Excuse For Today]
Storm-lashed arrival at Dennebroeucq. Welcome total. Simple supper shared - long-simmered potage, new p's de t, omelette, salades, desserts, all h-g, h-m. & fits in easily[rare anywhere o/s France], gives maman a small break. Perfect time to bring in, break out hamper raffle prize+explain. Plants brought from &village, plus other small gifts chosen exprès, appreciated hugely. 4kg of lovely butter bought. 2 terrines of h-m[bien sûr]pât! de lièvre accepted. A very, very good evening in France - food, drink, talk, all shared around huge table. Pics taken to print and send. M-E, seeing & pic of faisan trotting through & back fence, immediate 'Mmmm, qu'il est beau. Tu l'as eu comment?....' & explained 'Big Boy walks free, not for pot.'
No War declared.

Now, Beat It!& reflects: has bop noticed how the educators he loves increase here?

5 Just bin out shooting the birds, loads of the. The big Falcon come along and you should have seen the tits shift, one moment the pod was full, next, scatter. Swan stayed in defiance.
4 Talking of defiance, it was regrettable last Sunday, while at the w8rZ, we purchased Raffles, of exquisite tastes, the wrong box of dried cat food. After agonising, and seeing sordid face, gasping and clinging, this morning we could stand no more and had to throw out, for the birds, Raffles dried cat food, and buy some more to his exacting liking. Raffles is recovering well, having demolished his thirst bowl.
3 PM 2 DD. UTM Mariners on Box of Oggle the morrow at 12:45. Not quite a 3 O'clock kick off!
2 Nite BoP, of hot to trot, has purchased, well when he visited the w8rZ for Raffles food, a wine bottle for BoPsie. Not long now to the Glad Rags are on. She is going upwards again. Ands BoP not talking about the wooden hill either.
1 It makes us appear heartless!

Apologies for a repeat, but think the comment is too good to miss!0 -
Agreed, thankyou - and much passed on already bop.
Still astounded at amazing shopping error re: Raffles.
Thought his needs were zap-wired into the bopnest communal brain.
& fancies he might lickathon cleanly on patay de lièvre, not letting onto bop its source française.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Not my normal haunt but just popped in to catch up on my dear friend &'s adventures! So thought I would say hello :hello: and say I love this thread (once I have managed to translate some of it!!!)
I feel the need to add my tuppence worth - I hope that's ok?
1. Its cold outside (has a little snow but didn't stick!) but I'm toasty and warm with the help of my new super eco boiler and fancy flue (in part courtesy of a Green deal energy grant) keeping costs and carbon footprint down!
2. Lovely HM fake away instead of nasty chemical filled junk food - munched happily by all (with some left for my lunch next week!) - cost £0
3. excellent feedback from my lovely boss at my 3 month probation review today - so still have a job and can still pay the bills!
4. Have a lovely Reverend mother who has offered to pay her share of our trip to bonny Scotland next week due to having to pay for boiler this week!
5. News that DD1 might apply for a job back near home - don't want to stop her spreading her wings but would prefer that I could at least feel the wind beneath them as she flies close by!
Oh and its Friday and I am going to a trampoline place with DS and DD3 tomorrow which is sort of OS as it reminds me of trampolines by the sea when I was a little one (didn't need tenna lady to jump around then though!!!) will let you know if it was a pleasure tomorrow (I am decidedly doubtful!)0 -
'I feel the need to add my tuppence worth - I hope that's ok?'
Lovely to come in and read you here, judi - you are very welcome indeed!
Yes, bop is not always easy to translate, is he?:p[watch it &, that counts as 'cheek'.]
Just post as and when... no pressure, esp. as & seems to have passed putah disease onto sparrer, well and truly.
Mes excuses, all over again.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

:hello: Hiya Judy.
Five pleasures for the last couple of days:
1. The engine fault warnings that lit up on my dashboard on Wednesday have not reappeared since the garage had a look at the car yesterday. Fingers crossed it was just a blip.
2. Annoyingly lost a couple of NSDs because of the bother with the car but am back to another NSD again today. :T Will have to do a food shop tomorrow because we're almost out of milk.
3, At very long last DS2 has managed to finish and submit a job application - the organisation have been chasing him to apply for it which is a positive sign.:)
4. The rosemary bush in our back garden is busy flowering (it hasn't been listening to the weather forecast!)
5. Fantastic starry sky tonight.
Sweet dreams
