Dundeedoll - snow... had little flurries throughout the day then it started properly before 10pm. By 10.30 we had enough that a lorry had got stuck on the hill out of the village and the road was blocked. :-/ We've got 3cm now and it's still snowing.

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Speech and language report and big school report came for smaller son's annual review tomorrow. I wish I could think of some intelligent questions to ask!

    3) Freecycled some bits.

    4) Went for a long geocaching walk (well over 2 hours) and took a flask of HM soup with me. Did get snowed on from time to time.

    5) Did outside jobs in case there is more snow tomorrow - brought in lots of logs, took stuff out to the bins, antifreeze in car etc.

    6) Tasty beanburger sandwiches for tea with avocado, sliced pepper, cheese and HM gherkins.

    7) Enjoyed Holby City.

    8) Walked in on smaller son belting out a Shirley Bassey number! He's good at picking up tunes. Not always spot on with the words, though - I'm not sure Shirl ever sang "Eric Spender"..... :-)

Evening all :) Very late one. I can't sleep.

&, I'm so sorry, I forgot to say Happy Birthday a couple of days ago!

    Five pleasures for Tuesday:

    1. DS1 has been accepted onto his Masters/PhD :T

    2. Freezer potato and celery soup with grated cheese on top for lunch.

    3. NSD

    4. Really delicious supper cooked by my parents and evening spent with them.

    5. Money back for book trade-in and more being sorted.

    Sweet dreams

pirate Pete. This Mhagster does not have sole use of the sun...we've had rain ( very welcome) for past 2 days :), so not sure who has the yellow thing!

Walk in the said rain with the dog....strange Labrador which does not like getting wet...at all!!

Went to work, wasn't really looking forward to it but it was okay.

2 minutes to wait for a train and managed to squeeze on a seat.

Son and pup met me at the station.

Home with sandwiches for tea and made some soup with some scary vegetables, some lentils and some leftover gammon. It was so, so salty.

Have a good day ( it's felt like Tuesday all day even though it's Wednesday ....not used to having 2 days off together!)
  • When the guns stopped, the birds were heard again!

Oi, who has got the yellow thing. Sure it shud ad bin Mhags, but, she has lost the thing! Naughty chair for you dear! oh, and as there are poorlies out there, :heartpuls from Jenny! Right who is next! Insurance compnees, right. Well BoP minor skirmish last year and no marks. Well seems the chaser of amublances seem to think there had been absolute carnage, with guts and blood everywhere and ... What flocking idiots! Now, should the other party deem to think fit that I was anyway responsible, there go through their. Another two minutes of your life wasted reading another BoP rant Rant Over. Now, where was BoP. Aye, missing the yellow thing

There is a Doctor in the House, Yea, was them &. And burgers as well. Shopping lists. Left over carbonna and nuked! Ms Bassey!

5 Last nite, the currant BoPsie and BoP weres at the flicks, in the back row, freebie, not paid for, and two days before release, watched the film American Sniper. Alas I hears them BoPettes say, bit miffed, after the last sojourn to watch that film with mild misbehaviour being shown last year, why BoP would take the BoPsie to this. Well it was FREE. Got it. Now BoP recommends this film to all. Another film in the likes of All Quiet on the Western front, Appointment in London, The Cruel Sea and Apocalypse Now! Lets you think about all the events that happen, can happen, and then does not reflect on them, allowing you the viewer to understand and take reflection on the films events. Not like the Bolshevik media, which would transcribe the dog, included in one film, from a small field north of Lincoln is about, rather than the actual subject and the song. Suggest you see. And remember, old man BoP did not allow toys. If you want to play with guns, you join up. And on the walls this day, those that attended in our plaice and others. Most notably were stilled at the ending of the film. When you see it, so will you.

No one will leave early, and your gobs will be shut! SILENT!

4 Then we went back home to proper cocoa, vouchers accumulated at the tiger garage due soon to refill, and crumpets and slippers. Raffles, whos dried food was replenished last weekend, and a bowl, full left for his comfort while we were out, has decided, again, that this is not quite up to his exacting standards, and is on refusal. Unfortunately, BoPsie, who is easily stirred at his eyes and stance, has decided that he can have it replaced, at grave expanse, to something more suitable. The local vermin populace has again been reduced!

3 Time for, and we has not had any for an absolute age that is, Crab Sarnies are on the go, and that will be succeeded by a decent tart, reduced, that has been purloined for the BoP. Nice with a decent cup of tea.

2 Now while the BoP was out, getting the decent tart this morn, he had the privilege to get a free w8rz cup of tea, and they were trying to ply the BoP with tea infusions. No No No No No No No and bloody No. Coffee can be foamed and maid in more ways than one could throw a cat at! Tea is made with leaves and boiling water. Not froth! Nice!

1 When are we going to be us again!

Oi, who has got the yellow thing. Sure it shud ad bin Mhagss again!

Found it!! The yellow thing is alive and well and shining brightly in Beds :j
  • DigForVictory, I will blame my Kindle's overzealous autocorrect for that one! I have no idea what I originally meant either, could be anything. I'm doing well with the Disney, and the motorways - I tend to stick on radio 1, although OH bought me George Ezra's album for bday so that's been getting a lot of plays.

A sort of mishmash of pleasures for the last few days:
    1. New year 11 joined my class today - this is stressful and I had no warning. However, as it's the third time it's happened this year I saw it coming when I heard there was a new pupil! I'm clearly learning to play the game, and he seems a delightful and hardworking young man.
    2. Avoided all snowballs while on break duty, hurrah!
    3. Keats treated me to a cuddle last night - he is usually attached to OH (despite being my cat) so I felt deeply honoured.
    4. Plowing through my HP book. Sad to finish the series again, but loving every second, as always.
    5. Getting ahead with my planning, which means less stress.

Tea is cooking - a gammon bake and just need peas or corn to go with it. Easy which is needed.
Good walk this morning before the rain started and yesterday too.

Good chat with DS1 yesterday he is on track with his coursework at the moment.

Yesterday had a meeting to go to which has resulted in my back being very sore and had to take painkillers. I now know that my tens mchine is helpful with painkillers. Today my boss didn't ask how I was despite wearing tens machine but it has reinforced my aim to save as much as possible to retire as early as possible and to look forward to when she retires.

sparrer - Thank you for looking after the yellow thing. It returned today. Phew! :D

Frith - Eric Spender, maybe Shirley was trying to tell us of her first true love. ;)

New teaching student has started today in my class! She seems nice enough, but predictably very young.

    Pleasures:

    1) Friend has sent me the latest Phoenix Trading (cards etc) catalogue. Perfect timing as I was thinking that I needed to stock up!

    2) About to watch a programme on BBC4 about "Life of a Mountain: Scafell Pike".

    3) Put in my expenses claim form. 55 miles worth of petrol is not to be sniffed at.

    4) Been eyeing up some lovely stationery. Mmm, lottery win required!

    5) Interesting article about supporting British dairy farmers. Absolutely criminal what is going on and this article puts it across. http://metro.co.uk/2015/01/14/british-dairy-farm-crisis-is-it-time-for-fairtrade-milk-in-the-uk-5020096/

    1) walked into work. Bit slippy but very refreshing
    2) gbf brought round soup and bread for fast day lunch
    3) decided due to living on very steep hill and snow still lying to catch #5 which goes the bottom route. #16 which is less frequent but also does bottom route turned up - turns out it was 60p cheaper :-)
    4) 2nd half of salmon pie, just needed reheating (i'm not on the 5-2 but always happy to share gbf's lunchto save him overdoing the calories lol)
    5) have sorted bedside cabinets and found 2 pairs of earrings, one totally forgotten about. Like having new earrings :-)
Out tomorrow straight from work so have taken a portion of stew out of freezer for lunch and soup for tea. Feeling virtuously prepared :-)

A weird day rather than wash our tatty carpet, that was here before we moved in 14 years prior!, we decided to go out and see if an offcut was available and it was I also admit we haggled a bit more off as well!!! Then we also needed a floorboard and paint for the walls all on offer. We now have all the things we need to re paint the bedroom – it’s going to be a deep purple.:j
So we spent the day clearing out the “office” to make room for the bedroom bits while we decorate, we got half way there today, continue on tomorrow.
We did pop out to an auction preview but decided easily we didn’t need anything there.:o
Went to visit a rather lonely DF:(, hopefully raised his spirits.
Stopped in at Waitrose as it’s near to DF for a half price offer they had sold out of, but managed to pick up some incredibly fancy bread:rotfl: for pennies as we were at end of their day.
I’d meal planned thankfully so spag bol and some of the above.
Hoping some temporary work comes to fruition soon, very soon, :)but in the meantime tackling redecoration to keep busy busy.
