    1. My day started reasonably stressy but got better and better :)

    2. I'm (hopefully!) up to date with all my marking!! Woohoo!

    3. One of my quite 'cheeky' (i.e. irritating) boys in the class worked really well today, hopefully he'll keep it up tomorrow!

    4. PPA day tomorrow :)

    5. Left school before the cleaner locked up! Normally he has to chase one or two of us out, but thankfully today, I felt reasonably prepared by the time he came to remind me what time it was.....

I really shouldn't be as tired as I am. One cherub is really trying my patience though. Apparently I'm strict because I ask said cherub to do "work" *sigh*. Strangely enough, none of the rest of the class complained about this and one said that I was brilliant!! :rotfl:

    1) NPD - walked down to pick up a minibus so I could drive some children to a gymnastics festival. So, not my petrol being used.

    2) Arranged for a producer/designer/programmer to come into school from an online school learning page. Loads of pens, mugs and notepads received to be distributed around school AND we get free training in March! :j :j

    3) Chicken stir fry for supper. Omnomnom. :D

    4) Booked our hotel for when DH and I visit Madrid just after Easter. Picked up an e-mail from Secret Escapes and actually read it. Checked around to ensure I was getting a good deal... and I was! Rate even includes breakfast, which seemed to be unheard of in my searches. Spending all planned and budgeted for.

    5) A few more items have made their way into a bag for the charity shop. Really must not buy so much in the first place. :(

Will try and post sth, if only so you can hear me say:

    1. I'm wearing my JE SUIS CHARLIE t-shirt, worn across back yesterday[while carrying NZ and AB's flags], bought with 10 special copies of Lib!ration from their office early on, accompanied by 4-man armed escort after suitable but courteous interrogation by Members of la Police Nationale.

    2. Have finally[after another all-day putah de-messing] booked another day's trip for Wed/Thurs, to buy copies of CharlieHebdo.

    3. Nothing, but NOTHING, can ever encompass my gratitude for being in Paris yesterday, nor remotely articulate what it was to be one of those one and a half million and the rest, over 4 million français in the beautiful hexagon. The day was mostly stunningly beautiful, and I will not single out any one person, conversation, sight, sound, many as they were....it was in its entirety a day of absolute magnificence.....and blutty, carpulous WHY..............

    4. 17 pencils broken in half by& and placed around la Place de la R!publique and I now see beeb coverage for 1st time. & was alongside 2 of those early interviews[didn't know who I was declining to speak with at the time]. &is standing at big-hand 4 behind camera. Did not realise until later, with massed movement onward to Place de la Nation, how close I was. Was just photographing everything, from all angles and differing proximity, since arriving around 0930h and was therefore near as more and more arrived. There were several hundred when I found my way there, from Pierrefitte Tram 4terminus St Denis, big familiar walks around there, then to Port St D, then>RER>Gare du Nord, then Metro:R!publique.

    5. All Île de France transport was free yesterday. Hours required to leave didn't matter, then long walk from closed Republique, on past ditto Bonne-Sergent to Gare de l'Est, for Gare du Nord and quasi-retraced steps, not all possible. Having parked on northern-ish badlands outskirts alongside l'Hotel de Ville at Pierrefitte, was offered final leg lift by chap back from outpost station of Stains. Had no concern re: this in slightest. Assured him I did similar things and all truly was well.

I have left much out and will leave this as is, no more numbers.

Drive back from Dover was extraordinarily well-served by a majestic, sublime, impromptu evening concert, Soutien CharlieHebdo, fluid and unprogrammed, carried on all French radio and tv, beyond all adjectives, then nearer here, ending with the repeat from Mark Tully of Something Understood, again so fitting,in a philosophy as expounded through yoga, by the late B.K.S. Iyengar

To any unease over my my use of 'proud', I ask you to remember I was also there for others and phoned NZ, France, England to let them hear and understand.

Exciting day, Ampersand. Which news were you on? Is it on I player?
  • Mchags: Hope the hospital visit goes alright.
I received feedback on the role I interviewed for but they have now decided they want it to be very different. Ah well I am still looking I do tend to find new work filters through Tues to Thurs.
    1. Topped, tailed cleaned and tidied the bathroom, tomorrow I plan on getting up early (read normal work time:rotfl:) and deep washing/vaxing our bedroom carpet, as we let the animals all over, this muddy time of year brings the outside – inside a lot.
    2. Watched Father Brown, I do love that series.:o
    3. Tonight is chicken, ham, peas in a creamy sauce with sides of any of yesterday’s leftovers turned into a bubble and squeak of sorts.
    4. NSD / NPD:)
    5. I divided up the ham joint into 24 freezer portions, I turned all of the fat into seeded fat balls, and re stocked up the bird feeders:D
  • 1. It's my birthday! Hurrah.
    2. Serenaded by every class today, nice to know they care.
    3. Guilt free evening of not actually doing any work, which makes a very pleasant change. Was able to enjoy reading for pleasure.
    4. Gorgeous dinner (courtesy of OH) at our local Italian, with leftover pasta for lunch tomorrow.
    5. Settling down with books, Bill Bailey DVD and fluffy favourite.

    Evening all :)

I thought of you in those crowds, &. Kinda assumed you'd be there :D It looked incredible on the news. Thanks for the heads-up on the Iyengar programme as well; I still have Iyengar's 'Light on Yoga' on my bookshelves. It was so well used that the cover and pages are now no longer attached to each other. Maybe I should take up yoga again (and re-bind the book).:)

    Happy birthday, mandaguin:bdaycake:

mhagster, fingers crossed your hubby's appointment goes well.

    Five pleasures for Monday:

    1. Emptied and decluttered/repacked our packed lunch thermoses, water bottles, food boxes etc cupboard. We use so much of this stuff that it's got quite out of hand but now it no longer looks chaotic and all the lids and boxes match :)

    2. Last Tango in Halifax.

    3. DS2 reappeared after his long weekend away. Showed him his rejuvenated tracksuit trews with the marks having been washed off by yours truly fully expecting him to have them back but he said they no longer fit him and that i could have them. :)

    4. Sent some books to A****n on trade-in deal. Fingers crossed they'll pay. Pleased I actually did it.

    5. Yet another NSD. It's going well.

    Sweet dreams

Wasn't on any, Frith - was deliberately NOT and ducked beneath camera on another rather wild-haired, D!pardieu-like chap I see on another lot of coverage.

Recognised the interviewees in what turns out to be beeb. All the news team vehicles were ranged along the top of the street from the metro exit, on the Place periphery.

Another Capricorn, mandaguin:-) Have a grand day demain. These hooves are ready to enjoy hwb.

mhags - do let me wish you/OH well at appt; just didn't feel it was appropriate earlier and thought I wouldn't post again. I'm still learning my way round Mozilla Firefox and NoScriptSecurity alert, helped onto this by mser espresso, whose name has turned up many generous times, helping & on techie threads over the years.
