Yesterday continued well especially s the car was cheaper than expected. All that was done yesterday was a service as the part wouldn't have arrived in time but it wasn't a mechanical fault but a sensor issue and will cost £75 inc VAT to repair which was same price as service. A couple of garages had quoted £150 plus VAT just for service.

Met another neighbour yesterday as I was walking to the garage and she kindly offered to give me a lift. I declined as its a good walk.

Made butternut soup yesterday which is tasty and will be lunches next week.
Tea was from freezer and lots of veg. I'm trying to really increase the amount of veg we eat and reduce the meat but without DH complaining about it. It's easierto achieve when DS's are at uni.
House is tidy - well apart from bedrooms and fresh sheets on the bed.

    1. Friendly mechanic who repaired a small puncture in my car for free :) (He is going to get 2 tyres' worth of business out of me on Tuesday as well!)

    2. Big thanks to my colleague who came to find me to tell me that my car had an almost flat tyre, and she also had a plug in compressor (?) pump so I could get to the tyre place.

    3. The Indian restaurant that gave us all a scrummy meal, free drinks and a rose for the lady, lol.

    4. DD, who LOVES her rose :):)

    5. Went to an interesting course.

    6. Bumped into a chum I've not seen for months and managed to get out of being roped into joining a committee that she runs!

    1. Long awake and b'day brekkied as follows: usual orange, usual warm water, sometimes usual cappuccino[1/2 water+1/2 s-s milk zapped plus tsp millicano], most times usual unsweetened nat.yog, emporium rtc smoked wild salmon pât! on très seedy toast, butter+honey on another, with Grande Finale SLICE OF EMPORIUM RTC CHOC RASPBERRY TORTE - and it was guilt-less SCRUMPTIOUS.

    2. Spoke to NZ during above. Told aberdonian Aunt I had hand on bottle of Little Brown Bird raffle prize, still unbroached, as we spoke - so virtual tot poured at her insistence.

    3. Watching mad weather outside during 1. and 2.

    4. Watching jackdaw trying to land and raid little birds' seed tray, poked in oak's bare branches. There's plenty of all sorts out for everybody. A bit like dogs and cats ALWAYS swapping bowls, ALWAYS knowing He/She Has Better Than Me:-)

    5. Knowing I am going to France this arvo. and why. 6 JeSuisCharlie signs laminated yesterday at little printing place in near village, in &obile now.

Happy birthday, Ampersand! Have fun in France.

    Getting plastered as we speak.

And we've found a leak in the roof. :-(
  • Fluffs,

Tyres, Birthdays in France, (Song in that somewhere!), And decent Tartes! Mouse Trap, there is some play in that. Gosh, thinks killer mice. Raffles, merchant of wildlife populace reductions schemes, is available on day rates. Soda fountains, well shake better than champers. Tracksuit Onesies!

    Happy Birthday ampersand
Oh dear Frith :( I hope the roof can be repaired without too much more expense. I like to google the places you mention, it brings back happy memories and am so pleased you enjoy living in your beautiful corner of the world
Well side-stepped Kittikins, I think you have enough to manage without extra's like committees!
villagelife congratulations on your 'house is tidy'. How do you do it?! I live on my own but never seem to catch up on all there is to do :o

    1. Took one look out of the window and decided my garden centre trip can wait til tomorrow, when I have to go out anyway, so a nsd/npd
    2. Mutt and mogs very reluctant to go out but once they did they had me laughing. What it it about animals and wind? The cats were skitting sideways across the lawn, the dog was standing with his nose lifted to the wind and and turning his head from side to side as if to enjoy the (very) fresh air. Who needs television when there's comedy in the garden :)
    3. Finished the ironing which kept me warm so no need for the ch to be on today
    4. Just enjoying a cup of EG and a chocolate wafer. It's definitely the little things :)
    5. Back to back Restoration Man. Forget what I said in #3, I do love this programme

Stay safe. Enjoy the rest of the day :)

  • Sparrer the bracelet sounds lovely.
Happy Birthday Ampersand, and I hope your stay in France goes well.
    1. I did want to get out today a little bit of cabin fever, but we chatted and thought at the moment what is the point in battling weekend crowds if there is a choice.:)
    2. I have to admit a January sale spend, I bought shoes, I didn’t purchase any in 2014, I had my eye on these for months and now they have 70% off as now they are so last season dhaarlink.:rotfl:
    3. Deep cleaned the kitchen, hmm is that a pleasure?? And food planned from the freezer and got bits and bobs out to defrost:p
    4. I laughed and laughed enjoying playing with the animals so much, (much cheaper than therapy)
