Hi all
Bella while I am sorry that so many friends of yours are not well I understand why you are counting your blessings, you don't come across as smug at all, just full of pure gratitude. It is a good way to be!
Westy, I agree, great friendly place to be, this forum!
Here are my pleasures for the last couple of days:
Sunday
1 - What a lovely day, starting with an early start and going to buy the papers before breakfast.
2 - Trip to the Vitality Show, courtesy of LilacLillie (the freebie ticket Queen! THANK YOU!) who kindly invited me to share her win of two tickets for the event.
3 - All the freebies at the show and the fun of being there with a good friend.
4 - The wonderful LilacLillie also gave me some banana cake that she had made the day before, it was delicious! Thank you again!
5 - Back home, got ready to go to a great party with DH, wearing the dress I had bought especially for the event - and I looked GREAT!
6 - The party itself, the food, the live band, the dancing all evening, the friendliness, all of these could be pleasures in their own rights but I would go on and on and fill up pages!
7 - Frugally, we caught a bus home and it came quickly.
Today:
1 - DD asked me to go with her to deliver a portfolio for a Uni place she is after.
2 - We did that very quickly and then had a nice walk around Central London.
3 - She helped me choose a new pair of trainers in a discount sport shop (I am buying the stuff I need in the future now, while I still have a salary!). Very nice trainers, incredibly cheap, good brand and very comfy.
4 - Lunch out with DD in a vegan bus in the middle of Soho. The food is good but it was very pricey (hadn't realised that they would add VAT on top if you sit in!). But nice. And glad I could give DD a treat, too, while I still can.
5 - We stopped at the bakery where DD's BF works and he offered us a cup of tea and a truly gorgeous hot cross bun each, waiting for him to get ready.
6 - At the end of his shift sometimes he gets free bread and this time he also got me a big bag of those hot cross buns as I had loved them so much (courtesy of his kind colleague at the counter who heard me say how much I loved them).
7 - I was able to give him my travelcard to go back to Central London with DD to pick up the portfolio (so it got good use and he did not have to spend any money).
8 - Tonight, dancing (last evening of this course).
Good night everybody xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
wssla00 for the regular smilies click on the (more) in blue under the angel smiley and it opens a whole page of them. For the really clever ones (like Ollies) you need download from a smiley site. The only one I know is SmileyCentral, don't know if that's the one she uses though. I might try to download it again, last comp always threw a wobbly when I tried but this one seems much better behaved
. Have fun!

I haven't posted for SO LONG, I've had so much going on and the internet has been very hit and miss since we set the study up as Baby's room and put the computer downstairs.
I have been eagerly reading all your posts, however!
Here are my five for today:
1 DS1 and DS2 ran me a beautiful bath this morning, it was just right!
2 DS2 can swim! He swam about 3 metres in the pool all by himself, not bad considering I had to drag him kicking and screaming to his first lesson in October!
3 One of my year 3s wanting to give the baby a hug. That made my day!
4 Very scrummy chicken with mozarella for dinner
5 Washing up my cake stand and remembering the fantastic afternoon tea we all enjoyed yesterday ... which has now become a tradition in our house for Sunday afternoons.
Roll on the rest of the week!0 -
Haven't been around again for a while so haven't managed to keep up with everyone's pleasures - sorry!
Here are mine from yesterday and today:
Sunday
1. DH got around to removing our dishwasher and put a base unit in instead. We now have more much-needed space in our kitchen.
2. Next door neighbours took the dishwasher off our hands for their daughter's new flat. Glad to see it go to someone we knew.
3. Took DS1 into town for his warhammer club.
4. A lovely spring evening in town. Had a wander around the shops before they all closed and then sat with a nice coffee and a book to wait for DS to finish.
5. Made a nice sausage pie with whoopsied sausages and LO mash.
Monday
1. Picked up the boy's fired pottery pieces they made at a pottery session. Very proud of their handiwork - especially as they aren't the most art n crafty kids!
2. Took the back roads into the city - very scenic and made me excited about getting out more in the good weather.
3. Sports club - boys had fun with their friends and I enjoyed chatting with the mums.
4. Grabbing 20 minutes to do some stepping whilst watching rubbish telly!
5. Looking forward to chicken casserole for tea and watching some more rubbish telly with DH later.
Oh, and I must add that I made some some corn tortillas on Sunday - they were still a bit crispy so I need to perfect the cooking time but they were very tasty and I'm looking forward to think of all the things I can stuff in them (always thinking of my belly - be it filling it or trying to lose it!)DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt

3 Made a pair of earrings.
4. Had a great weekend with my boys, just mooching and went for a nice local walk - see my blog.
5. Made a quick tea, so the evening is now mine - yay !!

Here's my five for today:
1) Seeing the first daffodil in our garden. I thought I'd pulled up all the bulbs from our border, but these things seem to be incredibly resilient! Bright yellow daffs in contrast with the pinkish steel banners of the morning sky. What a nice start to the day.
2) The sunshine. I know, it turned to rain by lunchtime, but hey.
3) Not going overly mad when I went shopping at lunch. I did pick up what we need, but there has been precious little in the way of YS stuff lately, and I want to use my slow cooker more - at night so it is cooking while I'm doing other stuff
4) Toad in the hole for tea. Yum!
5) Seeing a blue swirly marble on the ground while walking to the shop. It was weird to see something I remember from my childhood but haven't really since much of since.
A typical Monday for me, really. There have been good moments and bad, and I picked up a pair of fluffy bunny ears from Mr M's today which'll be good for Easter. I'm wearing them now - they're really comfy! Hope everyone has had a good day. (((hugs)))

Evening all
Mine for today:
1 Popped onto flylady and got the living room, hall and stairs clean. :j
2 Baked bread, mincemeat fruit loaf, thriftlady's wartime apple cookies and shortbread. The kids loved the cookies.
3 Got time to do some crochet with my new wool. It looks good but doesnt feel soft. Dd said it feels sparkly and wants the pink teddy I am making for her easter present!! :T
4 Ds2 walked on the 3rd school run of the day. Was so funny, he HAD to carry his bag and kept stopping to adjust it but managed to walk all the way there and back (half hour each way).
5 Will finish my crochet teddy this evening for dd and then start on a blue one for ds1 for easter. Already done ds2 teddy. Then its just ones for my friends little ones who dd has decided HAVE to have the same at them!!!
Hope everyone has a good evening.0
