Caterina I'd be frightened to death to be anyone's birth partner!! So well done on that!!

Yesterday was a fairly quiet day for us, OS pleasures were:

    1) Having a long bath in the morning
    2) Relaxed lunch of very yellow srambled eggs on toast
    3) It was horrible weather so curled up on the sofa with OH to watch a long film (tears of the sun - very good) for the afternoon
    4) Favourite meal of meatballs and pasta with garlic bread (all hm)
    5) Going to bed excited that this morning we are off to see the puppies!!!!

Have a lovely Sunday full of pleasure OS and otherwise x

ACEY sorry to hear your ex managed to bungle his contact visit, it's good that the boys are looking foward to seeing him again despite his best efforts. Apologies if I'm talking out of turn, but at least he's got that subject out of the way, hopefully they're both young enough to take it in their stride.
Caterina congratulations on the new baby
jexy congratuations, did you mention that you'd won a hamper at all? jexygirl won a hamper, I'll bet she's a happy camper :)

Jexy you loony! ACEY - you are an inspiration after all you have been through, are going through and likely will face in the future there you are painting your Mums bathroom!
Another fab day of sunshine here today so lots of time in the freshair to boost my spirits..so here are a few to add to the list
    1. Lots of left overs for supper so no need to cook (love cooking BUT nice to have a night off - especially at the w/end cos OH kinda gets in the way in the kitchen. Bless him but he is hopeless when "off duty" - last night 20 mins before gusest were due to supper and I had been going full pelt all afternoon while he was off at the match, he disappears to have a shower and then I find him "just checking my emails" ... no blinking idea of actually helping ....GRRRRRRRR) And breathe [but not if you are in your figure control pants!]
    2. Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
    3. Ran - did the 5.5 mile village circuit in under an hour (just - well it is a bit hilly)
    4. Eating toast and cherry jam (is that OS? Dont care -it was yummy scrummy)
    5. Laughing at my naughty naughty dog sneaking up on the cheese (Cropwell Bishop Blue) that was on the sideboard and stealthily licking it - and the look on her face when she was told off - she knew it was soooooo bad to do that but wow!! did it taste good (I cut all the edges off the cheese before we ate it).

    Stay clutter-free
No new stuff unless to replace broken items that are essential.
£2 savings pot (started Oct 09) £182 so far (£100 of which is banked)
Roadkill jar (found money) 87p and 20 eurocents

    Afternoon everyone,

Jexy - well done on the hamper:j
Megsmum - Your number 5 made me laugh:rotfl:

    Mine for yesterday/today:
    1. Definetly not an OS day yesterday but a pampering one for me as had my hair cut and coloured so no longer have a badger streak through the middle:rotfl:. Did manage to use a voucher though so saved some money
    2. Also had my eyebrows threaded so no longer look like a yeti. It was half the price I would normally pay but you have to sit in a chair in the middle of the shopping centre so everyone can see you cringing as she rips out the hairs:eek:
    3. Free chocolates from thorntons
    4. Some lovely YS bargains in Mr.T today
    5. Sun shining again today so washing drying on the line

    Afternoon all!

ACEY - I'm sorry your ex was so inconsiderate with the boys. As GirlySquare says, though, hopefully he's now got that out of his system and will leave the subject alone from now on. Fingers crossed! Good on your bigger son for his new-found interest in cooking - he could just be the next Jamie Oliver!

Kitchenbunny - good for you for trying to get back on the OS bandwagon. I look forward to reading all your pleasures. :)

Caterina - well done on the quiz result. :T The cake prize sounds yummy - I can't see that catching on at the pub quiz I go to, though, sadly. :(

    jexygirl - :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Thank you!!

Megs mum - LOL at your naughty dog! At least she licked it rather than eating it, so you still got some.

Tealady - You're very brave doing that in public!

    My five for today:

    1) Had a nice long lie-in this morning - I was still feeling a bit chilled after yesterday and couldn't face the thought of leaving my nice warm bed. :o

    2) I had a temporary glitch in my storecupboard challenge and bought myself a rabbit at the farmers' market, to make the rabbit chasseur that was posted on another thread yesterday. It was a very cheap rabbit, though, so I don't feel too guilty.

    3) Got most of my seeds in. C'mon you lot - now grow!

    4) Found a patch of violets growing beside my shed. I can't imagine how they got there - they certainly weren't there this time last year.

    5) Finally got round to my ploughman's sausage roll experiment. They're cooling on the rack now, and I just hope they taste as nice as they smell.

    Have a lovely evening, everyone.
Back after a very long break!

Evening all! Hope everyone is well. Sorry, am just back from London so am pushed for time, so not really had a chance to catch up with everyone's posts. Here are mine for the last two days:

    1. A lovely weekend in London, for the bargainaceous price of £10 return on the coach.

    2. Lunch in Soho with Caterina; we had a lovely feast (thank you again) and I shall definitely go back to that restaurant.

    3. Staying with friends in Buckinghamshire, meeting their lovely cats and having a curry feast in the evening.

    4. Meeting my friend Janice for lunch today (an eat as much as you like curry feast). It was great to catch up with her. Notice a theme of lots of food developing this weekend?!

    5. Knowing that Gizmo and Penny were being well looked after by my lovely friend whilst I was away.

    6. Spending some time in the National Portrait Gallery - always one of my favourite places.

    7. Enjoying being in London - I love big cities. Would definitely consider moving there after my trip.

    8. The coach driver who drove us to London - he was politeness personified. I do like good manners!

Right, see you all tomorrow x

What a bright, sunny day! I wish we'd taken more advantage of it, seemed to have been based indoors most of the time.

    5 for today.

    1) Being woken up by 2 small boys bearing a bowl of porridge and a cup of tea! Bigger son had remembered how to make it (made it for me on Mothers Day) so had made it again. I ate it, wondering why I felt so tired, then looked at the clock and it wasn't quite 7am... they must have woken up early because of the sunshine.

    2) Boys played nicely most of the day going from the TV to games on the laptop, to drawing then to the farmyard which was set up in the kitchen all day.

    3) Had a major clean of the bathroom including washing down the walls and ceilings (would get a bit of mould here and there if I didn't keep on top of it). It looks really good now, I wish the rest of the house looked so sparkly after it was cleaned!

    4) Went swimming with the boys and my sister this afternoon.

    5) Put baked potatoes in the oven so they were ready for us on our return. The boys had tuna and cheese with theirs and I had the remains of last night's lasagne with mine (I had baked sweet potatoes, they aren't keen on those).

    6) Boys went to sleep quickly after their early start.

    7) Everything is tidy ready for tomorrow, homework done and uniforms out.

    8) Just about to watch the Renovation Man (if that's the right title) and I've got flapjacks with dates in the oven :-)

    9) Will try to have quite an early night myself and listen to the Archers on iplayer.

    L

P.S What sort of seeds, CCP? I'm not much of a gardener but we have seed trays of sunflowers, sweet peas and pansies waiting to go out.

    1. DD and I went for a nice swim this morning this morning using her annual pass.

    2. We were supposed to be hosting friends for lunch but their trains were up the swanney so we went to Brighton to have food at a restaurant instead, grrr. Thankfully they called just before I went into Mr T's to buy the last ingredients for my half-prepared meal, so I saved that money.....and cobbled the food together tonight for dinner instead! So DD has leftovers for tomorrow, 2 meals sorted :)

    3. Nice meal and chat with lovely friends and went to a park nearby for DD to burn off lots of energy.

    4. Got home and went to another park and saw lots of friends, I like living here, it's really sociable.

    5. The prospect of working from home tomorrow as my $ky service is being installed, yay, here's hoping for sunshine!
