Welcome Mandaguin
Yet another ci, am so fed up with them now. Out of anti-b's so nebbing and inhaling like there's no tomorrow! Got to look on the bright side though, at least I'm still standing
1. some dec's taken down, have to leave a few for 12th night
2. DGS1 came and transferred everything from old lappy to new one, and adjusted it so it now looks like XP, not the Windows 8 that it is. No idea what they were thinking of but it's a terrible design fault. However all is well now
3. Received an invitation to DGD3's 18th birthday dinner next week. Her brother's 21st is 2 days later so it will be a week of celebrations
4. Just heard that DGS4 has been offered a place at all 5 uni's he applied to, pending results.
5. Benidorm. Silly but always makes me smile
Sweet dreams0 -

Have had a lovely couple of days
1. Paddington is fabulous!
2. Had a brilliant time with my friend and her two teenage children - I hope DD grows up to be as awesome as them and it was lovely to catch up with them all.
3. We all played lots of card and board games together and have decided to learn poker and have a night drinking (apple juice) and wearing green visors!
4. Scrummy food and drink, courtesy of mummy and daddykins.
5. Am even coping fine with my bro and his GF being here. phew!
6. I found my painkillers so am feeling much better again
7. Bro and gf are going to take DD out for the day tomorrow so I can get lots of work done, or re-done....*sigh* It'll be good to hopefully get everything done so that I can have a peaceful day on Sunday before it all starts again!!0 -
1. A collection as per usual. Wonderful NY celebration with friends and much love and laughter. Short video on FB, for those who have me there. (KK and Frith added to FB friends recently, others are more than welcome.)
2. New calendar up featuring the Angrove horses, Pudding the stallion is the pin-up boy for January. He was a January foal, born to a nutter of a mother who wanted to kill him. Remarkably he grew into a very laid back horse. Unlike most stallions, you can pet him and your fingers will be reasonably safe.
3. Still loads of delicious nibbles left. Lebkuchen anyone... please...??
4. Lovely free book in post, The Rising, sequel to The River Singers, touted as the new Watership Down. Rightly too, wonderful cross-generational read for all ages from 8-9 upwards. Cannot recommend enough.
5. Pain levels have been reasonable despite seasonal weight gain. Looking forward to seasonal weight loss as Jan progresses.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
(((Hugs))) to all poorlies and those on painkillers
Pleasures for Friday
1. lovely sunny day, got some more washing done and out blowing on the line. Heating off again
2. had a walk (hobble) to the shop in the fresh air and sunshine. (Knees are v sore so back on co-codamol). Shelves were almost empty at co op - managed to get one of last packs of sausages
3. snorkers for breakfast - BoP Good-Oh
4. didn't manage to take our Christmas tree down but will do it today (Saturday) - when is 12th night sparrer ?
5. had another short walk round the local pond - all the [STRIKE]laziness[/STRIKE] sitting around [STRIKE]being lazy [/STRIKE]relaxing over Christmas / NY means knees and back have got v stiff and sore, so it was good to get moving again in the afternoon sunshine...

Evening all she mutters from a puddle of melted ness in the corner...'tis so hot and unbearably so...waiting on a storm coming which will hopefully clear the air.
Went to work a bit earlier to make a start before it got too hot.
Finished the tiniest bit earlier. We were busy to start but then I think it was too hot for people to be out and about, have been asked to give a staff member some very unpleasant news on Monday , I am not looking forward to this but I suppose if I want to be a manager I need to manage.
Instead of going out for lunch and spending $++ I bought 2 sausage rolls for $+
Watched some UK telly under the overhead fan and next to the pedestal fan and still moaning!
Dog has a new to him paddling pool! Someone in the street had put one out for council collection. We were going to buy him one for Christmas but as he had his op he wasn't allowed to get his stitches wet, so we left it and hey! One turned up ( like a clamshell) DD1 nabbed it last night !
Have a good Saturday0 -
Just remembered another pleasure , a lovely customer gave me a gift of chutney as it was made in Scotland! It was lovely of her to think of me0
