Happy New Year everyone
Pleasures for yesterday
1. DS went to gym (yes on NY day .. he is dedicated !) which meant I could tidy up a bit and whizz round with hoover.
2. the weather has turned mild again so I turned the heating off and opened some windows for lovely fresh air whilst the oven was on, saving electric on the extractor fan
3. lovely roast dinner using up RTC veg and free parsnips gifted from DP's. We had lamb as a treat and it was divine.
4. used my Christmas present money to buy a new cordless hoover in the sales, Not a son of Dy as they are ridiculous money.. this was £79 and is a 2-in-1 cordless upright which converts into a handheld so I can keep it upstairs. With my bad back this will save me having to struggle with my big heavy hoover on/up the stairs.
5. afternoon snooze
6. finally watched Remember Me with DS ... gosh nearly shot out of my seat with fright on several occasions  Do like a good ghost story at Christmas.... it beat The Haunting of Radcliffe House which I thought was carp
Well I guess today its time to take down the Christmas tree for another year....0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
House sale OCT 2022 = NOW MORTGAGE FREE 🤗
House purchase completed FEB 2023 🥳🍾 Left work. 🤗
Retired at 55 & now living off the equity £10k a year (until pensions start at 60 & 67).

Hello from the land of the hot....39o and wilting !
Washing dried in about 20 minutes
Watched Eastenders....twice...had to watch it again with family! We've been watching it for the last few months..sad but true!
OH and I went to fave cafe, I wrote a letter to my letter writing friend whilst waiting on salad. I've given up diet cola...again! Day 2 and sore head with withdrawal symptoms!
Did an aldi shop for work and then dropped it off....such dedication on a day off
Home and aircon on and tried to find a coolish place to recline. Sent an email under the blast of the aircon in dining room.
Too hot for cooking. Just moaning !
Have a lovely day0 -
McHags: That’s toooo hot.
1.Lunch was a whole 50p from the freezer tetris was found a Stromboli and pizza.:o
2.Kept the fat from the roast yesterday melted it down added in meal worms etc and put it out for the demanding birds.:rotfl:
3.Ran a cleaner through the washing machine having run all the animal bedding through it.
4.Bartered with the home insurers, 40 squid off is still 40 squid, all paid up front for another year,:money: though I have to admit we don’t follow the mse advise on this as we do cover everything rather than the minimum cover, we’ll never know till a claim is made I guess.
5. Picked up a half price calendar, it was worth waiting for that in the sales, I think it might be our only sale buy?:)
6.About to head over to dads, loaded with all sorts of homemade frozen pureed meals, 2 christmas dinners, 4 shepherds pies, all sorts of chicken, mash and veg, also remembered to print off a photo and framed it for him.0 -
More Sucks!
Another copy cat BoPette. New vacuums everywhere! Brothers swimming, lie inns, sharp scissors. Freezer hunting. Too hot for cooking! Chocolates.
5 Raffles, king of the Lions, has decided that BoPsie is not feeding him enough of his fresh, blue packet variety food from W8Rz, and is attacking her feet furiously. He just knows that one wink in the right plaice and the food is there.
4 Decent porage for breakfast, washed with toast and tea. Set up the BoP for the day of amazement. No salt mine at the moment, but just ...
3 Well, that was a real laze day by BoP yesterday. Absolutely nothing done at all. Not even the dishes. Nothing. Not a lifted finger. Just so brilliant at being the lazy BoP!
2 Tonight has decided that I may just get a jar of wobbleade inn, and the bored of Scrabble out.

3) spent a blissful hour or so decluttering 6 magazines which of course meant checking i'd read everything and finishing off some puzzles
4) watched queen concert and raised a glass to my uni friend mark crowther who also died from aids. RIP Freddie
5) now snuggled in my scottie dog onsie and back under the duvet settled for an evening readingMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

That's my idea of decluttering magazines too. I got rid of a whole lot at the weekend.
Thankfully, a good night of sleep means that I'm less fuzzy than I was yesterday. Still not great, but not feeling as though I'll pass out!
Pleasures:
1) Able to read some more of my book! A nice trashy novel for the holiday.
2) Paid in my Christmas money into the bank. :j It won't run through my fingers like water if it's in there.
3) Bought some Christmas cards in the sale, all ready for the end of this year.
4) Discovered a local FE college will be offering a free course in beginners' Spanish. Need to phone up and book when they're open next week, in preparation for our trip to Madrid over Easter! :j
5) Yummy Jamie's Ministry of Food salmon pesto for supper. Yum!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Just in. Immediately see no Thanks buttons showing on osps via putah of &. Try again l8r. Latest wrinkle: hit Thanks, should it be present, Edit frame comes up instead....not even &'s posts???
1. Decapitated rosebud left in w8rs now in eggcup. It may open:-) On verra.
2. Nuisance not-spot...anyway, finally went out somewhere mob. worked. Demain slightly more sorted. & not best pleased: 3hrs earlier start+another £30 fuel-up 'cos someone has not kept word. Ah well, human estate. Bookings to make after this. Demain will involve some spending.
3. Thoughts of long-known couple, not seen for over 6mths, as I entered TMB, dkw. Wandered aisles...there they were! Previous situ. not much better: family member has not hit personal rock-bottom yet...loads of deliberate debt after a 5-week nonsense marriage. Bail me out, yet again, BOM+D. In meantime, having found correct item for their elderly neighbour, they feared returning inferior+dearer bought 4 doors back. & broom, convoy travel. Ludicrous, waffly opposition quietly overcome for correct cash refund[payment method, 34 mins earlier]. Buyer details filled in: Brenda Tudor, King's Warren, Balmoral, not-very-postcode, all written in l-h cursive[=full driving test for most.] They are such dear people. & can't stand non-sense 'law'-spout. Left them laughing and in good spirits.
4. Surely even Lady Moon has skipped a couple of stages/weeks? Looking fantastic and nearly full again, already. Simultaneously, puzzled a bit over 2, then 1, ufo's flying over emporium carpark. If lanterns, seemed high and fast, but not helicopter-y enough to be those.....still wondering, but they looked beautiful.
5. Freecycled Roberts transistor taken after prompt answer. & runs '1st come, 1st served' f/c policy. Have now em'd collector, as mains lead found in plain sight, back of 8obile if he wants to return.

1. Lovely day with OH - last of three days off together, which is very rare with me teaching and him being in retail.
2. Lots of furniture rearranged, so the house feels like home now.
3. Unimpressed pusscat has been flea dropped and sort of brushed!
4. Rewatching Friends from the start on Netflix, which will be the soundtrack to my evenings for weeks to come.
5. Should have the 6th book of my annual Harry Potter re-read finished this evening.February Grocery Challenge - £120.63/1500 -

 welcome from me, too, Mandaguin.
Five pleasures for Friday:
1. NSD
2. Lots of tidying and sorting and a big label now stuck to the rubbish bin reminding everyone that no rubbish that is recyclable is to be put in there! DSs have been in a tidying/sorting mood as well so we got quite a lot done.
3. Gave up on the red cabbage and cooked a vat of yummy leek and potato soup instead. DS1 was out for supper, DS2 didn't want any as he'd already snacked on a lot of snacky food earlier then g/f came round and she'd already eaten. More soup for freezing.
4. Lots of freebie online courses starting up at the moment and have enrolled on a couple. VickyA, coincidentally, I got an email from https://www.duolingo.com/ today mentioning their new freebie language courses. Spanish is one of them. I've been trying the French one this evening.
5. Good chat with my mum on the phone.
Sweet dreams
