5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Just a quick update from me:
Pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Did mum's family tree! Disappointed that I can't really get it back more than 1800. It is very funny, though. Half her family come from the north east (the other half from Scotland) and sometimes she can be a bit snobby about my dad's family coming from the Black Country. So go back 150 years and all her family not only live in the Black Country, but one was a) born in the tiny village dad's parents lived in b) one lived in the same town as paternal ancient uncle and c) some lived in the SAME STREET that my grandma's family all lived in for generations until it was knocked down in the slum clearances!!!
3) Posted dad's sister her family tree.
4) Put bigger son's stuff on Ebay (boring job but done now).
5) Popped to Sainsburys very briefly.
6) Enjoyed watching I'm a Celebrity.
7) Fire going nicely - it's -2 now.
8) In bed with hwb and ISIHAC just now.0 -
Awh pirate PeteI've just seen your avatar photo! Saw an ad for the film at the train station tonight.
Well, woke up feeling a bit bleurgh, tried to get a colleague to work for me but she couldn't do full shift and then boss called me to go in early as there were problems. So just felt bleurgh all day but at least I got paid for feeling bleurgh! Last hour was very quiet so got out nice and early.
Met by the pup! I'm not sure who was most excited but I think it might have been me!
Macaroni cheese for tea, using up cheese that wasn't eaten on Saturday.
Ironing fairy has been busy today...and more dried on the line for her to do
Beautiful jacaranda trees are blooming, they are the most stunning purple colour, my favourite colour and on a tree! Agapanthus flowers are starting to bloom too.its beginning to feel a lot like Christmas, Australia style!
Early morning walk with the pup and just us and the parrots! Lovely
We are taking our friends to the airport tonight, they are leaving sunny weather for more colder climes! UK for 6 weeks, I'm looking forward to hearing of their travels. I gave them a gift of hand warmer pads...50p purchase when I was home in July!
Have a lovely day0 -
Morning
VJsmum - Hugs re MIL, my DM has bipolar so know how hard it can be when she is in an all about me mode especially when DD is trying to give her some news.:(
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. Lovely engineer at work setting up another heater for me by my desk as I was shivering
2. Lots of cups of Jasmine Tea, I find this really soothing on a sore throat and it doesn't make me cough like a milky drink would.
3. BBQ chicken and bacon pasta using up bits in the fridge and the last of the RTC bacon. DD was glad to be able to microwave some when she got in very late.
4. DD not breaking her wrist. She was in a lot of pain all day yesterday so went to A&E on way home for an xray. They think she has RSI but want her to go back in a week as the xray showed some swelling that they want to check. Thank goodness for the NHS just a shame our nearest A&E is so accessible. Paid for her a taxi home as the last bus from the hospital is 9.30 and she had just missed it.
5. Better day at work than I have had for a while and managing to help someone out by moving appointments around slightly so we could fit her in.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Old Dogs,
Feel the heat, ironing fairies, aye Mhags, is a must see, hopefully Sunday, back row with BoPsie. She'll be all giggly. Family trees, bed, cuppa. Hope that was proper cocoa, not a foam drink! Sham Lanks, and mint sauce? Broomstick, don't encourage the putahs. Ah, log fires. Hope you have lined and check the chimneys there. Lottery ticket, fingers crossed.bop - and all others of bop persuasion.
Won't post much now anyway, so start cheering.
Thinks & putah needs a decent boot. Sized 12, and dropped!
5 I am available for putah booting, very reasonable rates plus expenses! Clear your bloody cache out woman. OK. Easy way to do it! Back up your data and favourites. Then create a new profile, something like epsilon!
BoP does not intentionally give advise but should he have something to say, I will say IT, IT.
4 There, as I write away in pounces Raffles, wet and wanting paws. FSC!
3 Last night BoP had a wobbleade while watching the UC, and was fairly rubbish last eve, so no comment.
2 nite is listening to the Lord Tondeaur of Parc Blundell, via the interwebs of entertainment. Other channels are available.
1 Measure your success, not by money but by the number of faces you bring smile upon, each day.0 -

2. Mr. Stink as OH calls him ..err... stinks of fox poo yet looks spotless .Up the wooden hill into the shower me thinks ..

VJsmum - Seems that teaching and acting go hand in hand, though I act like a prat most of the time in class. Honestly, you should see my class - they're a product of me - we all love a good laugh! I know of a jobbing actress who also trained as a teacher for "something to fall back on".
I made it in to school today and struggled through. One parent has just returned from the Falklands and was sporting an impressive moustache. I didn't know whether it was because it's Movember or just because...
My pleasures for today:
1) Lovely supper of salmon & pesto (Jamie Oliver Ministry of Food recipe).
2) Donated some items to the local foodbank who are having a big promotion/collection in the supermarket.
3) Bagged up some books to take to the charity shop. Not many, but more than I have done over recent months (4 is more than 0, no?).
4) Ploughing through the Christmas list... Still unsure what to get my parents. I'm thinking a small present to open on Christmas day, then a meal out somewhere after Christmas...
5) Steadily working through my MOOC with Future Learn. Still interesting!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Arggh today I mainly learned that to cover up a ghastly colour with white gloss is going to take more than one coat, and that I really dislike louvered doors, finished putting one coat on, then drowned myself in white spirit, I really am not very good at painting and seriously hope the second coat will look “great” tomorrow.:p
1.Applied for some jobs, and I’ve looked back at MSE and feel so grateful, I reigned in the spending, I feel fairly ready for Christmas and I’m looking forward to a new challenge without having to panic immediately it’s taken work, support and squirreling but feeling hopeful.:o
2.I will admit it I couldn’t resist it when the toffee vodka came up on the Amazon sale I found a bottle in my virtual cart:rotfl:…. I also admit I’ve saved a bit and bought my brothers present ridiculously reduced I am very happy, as he doesn’t need to know!
3.Today it was announced to all I’m leaving it feels good, more real and a nervy good.:)
4.I caved to a takeaway delivery, on a 2-4-1 coupon, does that count as err good, no I didn’t think so but it’s a bit of a marriage saver.
5. Being paid earlier than I expected, definitely deserves a pleasure:)0 -
