Sunday evening here , will be dark soon. Just watched casualty and ate lovely lamb koftas ( brought home from friend's party a couple of weeks ago. Had them in wraps with yoghurt and salad.

Had to work but no more until Saturday ....hurrah! We were exceptionally quiet and especially so for a Sunday. Got lots of bits and pieces done that I've been meaning to do for a while. It's a kind of holiday weekend, as it's a public holiday on Tuesday so a lot will take the Monday off too and head off....wherever it is they go!

Straight out that door at 2pm and met OH at our local cafe. He and pup had been at their first puppy playgroup class.

Then we headed out in search of big planters , had a 10% off voucher! picked two which had cracks in them ( but not terribly bad ones) and got further 10% off....then we went to other place and bought one which had 50% off and some terracotta pots filled with citronella wax....noticed one had a tiny chip after it had went through till , made a comment and got 60% off that!

Home and filled pots with soil....which doggy then tipped over! Filled them with my sweet peas, which doggy kept pinching! Planted a hollyhock in 50% off planter, which doggy wanted to eat! Then with the pots that had my sweet pea seedlings in, I restocked them with my free ,after redeeming a code on a loaf of bread , packet of rocket seeds.

Peas transplanted into veg patch and will need to transplant pumpkin seedlings too.....however, too many flies at that time of evening meant I was getting eaten alive, so will do it tomorrow ( cos I can! )

It's been very cool past 2 days after our hot day on Friday, our crazy Melbourne weather! I bought a half price dress in salvos the other week thinking it would be lovely for autumn/ winter ....yet here I've worn it already! We had to put the heating on last night it was so chilly!

Got photos developed off my phone yesterday, so I enjoyed putting them in order in an album....mostly puppy ones! Then filled the frame I bought at salvos with 4 so, so cute photos of him! Gave my friend a copy of a photo of her and her OH, I took at party a couple of weeks ago, she was so grateful but it only cost me 15c ( 8p!) and made her very happy..well worth it!

Can you believe we are in November already! This time one whole year ago, I left the very toxic workplace. My mum had just been diagnosed with breast cancer but is doing fine now. What a difference a year makes!

Happy Sunday everyone, sending hugs to those who need.....I received one from the lovely Han, who works at our local cafe and was her last day there for the summer, we will miss her cheeriness ( she gave me the free cake when I was there with DD on Friday :))

kk- it rode into a dream at some point in night...that I had missed thanking you for your special post on previous page. Had to switch on and check - it is so.

It was somehow mixed with & as Dean reading names from a scroll, presenting same to each of the newly mortar-boarded. 'kk+Christian name....' at which point I remember no more. I do so now - thankyou.

    Soup Dragon

ChickPea Curry, Final Curtain. Morning Showers. Oats! Don't wear them! Take aways. Pots and Earth. Ballasts.

5 Just bin to T and we spent a massive 39 pennies of our money, so good to see them not getting their filthy fingers rich on us. Cocoa, non foamed variety, bought and £2 voucher and 50 pennies off coupon. Minded the moldoon a happy Easter, when we are back. And they gave us the chance to survey for an extra 25 points! Now we are on a massive 107 points!!!! Not only that, as a minder, local Tiger station is still 3 pennies cheaper than their rip off. Total spend at T this year now close to £8.

4 At rzW8, we again did our weekly and we broke the £20 barrier again. Cheap, paper, snorkers, bacon, fish, fish, toms. Souping vegetables. Blitzer readied. Paper. Milk and cheese. All for the week. And when we parked, two non drivers were trying to park their cars. One was at such an angle, I could not decide whetehr they were in one slot or three. Other car, well, BoP likes to plaice his car between the posts, reversed. So as BoP reversed in, there was another car, that was in such a position, they had reversed out of their slot, and aligned their car at right angles to the spaces, thinking they would get straight out. BoP truck nicely positioned between the posts, in the lines preventing an exit. Took him 17 turns to get out. Rule of the BoP, if yous canna reverse in when BoP is out, rule is Tuff! Minds me of another visit, where a gril (mid aged!) parked outwith the lines in a full car park, on a slight ange! Parked next to her, well in the lines. BoPsie got out and we went shopping, but not for much. We came out to find her runting away about not being able to get out. As said shop had caf!, we decided to have a cup of tea as well! We left before her!

3 Poached egg on toast for brekkie, tea and Jam on Toast. Now I asks yous, BoPsie has found out that BoP puts Jam into the gravy. Not todays though as we shall be having the Sea Bass, with lime, new tatties (minted), home made Parsley sauce and real mushy peas. With homemade soup as well.

2 Last eve we watched the Harry Hill the movie. Brilliant and made BoP larf. Now, makes me think differingly about wobbleades!

1 Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant rls

    Something for the winter girls!
    erncjt.jpg

Carrots, roots, leek, Can of Toms. Blitzed. Added spinach. Salt, Pepper and bits to taste. Got it. Not just Spotted !!!!!! and Fresh Lumpy Custard!

Now you know what I told you about foamed drinks. Well here is a foamed drink that is good for you. My yeast, bubbling, ready to make bread rolls!

  • Good afternoon all !

BoP- the soup looks lovely ! Loved the story about the thoughtless parking . Ha!

Ampersand - you are brave .. so very brave . I cannot walk past Lus* without holding my breath and nose , just in case the former fails . It stinks !!! I have a bar of their soap in my knicker drawer though - not entirely sure why :rotfl:

    Sparrer - roast dinner YUM

Skintos - how very organised - saving since January. Well done :T

    5 for today

    1. Walked (limped) hound round the block ..which goes something like this ...step, step, sniff pee , step ,step pee etc (hound doing the sniffing and peeing not me btw) Which is just fine for me as I walk very badly :) Got back just before it tipped down .

    2. Went into town with OH , reverbed 2p in the middle of the wet road

    3. Ate sooo much last night that I have not felt the need to eat anything so far today and only soup will be on the menu later !

    4. Bo**ocked (via a private message) a family member for publicly posting some very unpleasant stuff about another close family member on the book of face .. Not right to air dirty linen in public..

    5. Got some make up on a 3 for 2 that I always use and is rarely in stock . Should last me until next year :)

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

All under the guidance of Raffles!

Right, got to say it. I've got a bun in the oven
  • A bit of a mash up of pleasures from yesterday and today, some not very mse but at least researched for good deals, after today I’ve decided to try the 7 day nsd thread from next Tuesday and looking forward to it.:o
I tried to grow my own pumpkins but planted them to late, thought there may be some Halloween leftovers for rtcs but there was literally nothing a shame.:(
    For Fri/Sat
    1. Entered a competition.
    2. Went to visit the outlaws and it was lovely to see them a vast amount of nattering.:)
    3. It’s amazing how MSE is now ingrained thank goodness, we had to go out shopping for some bits and pieces today, but I researched before we went, we could have bought everything in dunelm, we have a quality bed set (we picked up on throw out of course may moons ago) but it means we have learned the quality of thread count now,:o but when we added it together in it was easily triple figures for the duvet set alone. So we trundled off to places like the range etc but ended up at ikea ironically and bought at 340 count set, and sheet for half the price of dunelm. Ikea on a Saturday was err I think the word is an eye opener talk about busy.
    4. I do admit thou I feel guilty about spending but at least we sort of saved, but we did spend on some bits thou as well, things like a big reindeer foot warmer which will be ferret bed, scented candles in ikea vitals of course and of course spends in home bargains and £1 shop.:o
    5. Stopped in at a “bus” for a meal deal including a cuppa each for £4 can’t beat that.:)
    6. Got home and started researching for a duvet as we didn’t like the price or look of any we saw and found our current one with 35% off and an extra 25% if I order it for home delivery which seems like a no brainer.:T
    7. Scented candles burning and smelling wonderful, a big cuppa and no desire to move too far for an hour or so. It feels like a very extravagant day :p
    For today
    1. Laid in.
    2. It’s Simpsons day on TV happy days
    3. Bangers and mash with all left over veg cooking away now.
    4. Slobbing out a little working on the principle of we aren’t going out and no one’s planning visits.
    5. A few loads of our washing then all of the animal bedding now done.
    6. DH fixed the outdoor low wattage led light, and we picked up a half price thermal curtain yesterday at the range, he measured it up, sewed it up, then undid it and re sewed it to the right length but it’s all up and looks great, should keep it warmer, we are all motivated as we had our yearly gas and leccy reading through and we have managed to cut £300 off and use 2000kwh less of each with little changes.:T
    7. Realizing my hospital apt is not only on the wrong day but at the wrong time thankfully I haven’t missed it ops.:o

    1) Woke up in the early hours of the morning to the sound of rain pounding on the windows and at first thought it was Monday - realising it wasn't was a real pleasure!

    2) NSD and NPD.

    3) Went to make beef stew for dinner and realised I didn't have any carrots or onions, both of which feature in my usual recipe, but subbed them with butternut squash and leeks so I didn't have to go to the shop. :money:

    4) Beef stew and dumples for dinner.

    5) And a grand prix to watch a bit later. :)
Back after a very long break!

Chicken - fillet steak, eh? Whatever gave you that idea?
BOP - sourdough? Make a mean one of thaose myself. Although I am eschewing I have the occasional slice of sourdough

    Pleasures for last few days

1 visit to school friend. Nice to catch up
2 DD :D. Met at Charing cross in the nick of time for Forbidden Broadway. Genius show. Skit in Les Mis "10 years more" "on my phone" Matilda " my mummy says I'm a triple threat" so many it's hard to recall
    3. Dinner at cafe rouge with vouchers
4 back to hers, met her friends who are so like her it's unreal
5 slept well, even in halls. Disappointingly no wild parties or letting the fire extinguishers off int he corridors. Students today - so boring :rotfl:
6 lunch at a 50s diner with DD
7 shopping trip where I spent my birthday vouchers on a radley watch
8 hard to leave her again but at least I know she is happy
9 went to see the poppies at the tower. Couldn't work out which ones were mine :p. Saw them yesterday in daylight and today at night. Breathtaking and so sobering seeing the numbers of them. One for every British life lost in WW1, really puts in perspective.
10 first class lounge and first class train - I will never take it for granted.

    Have a good evening all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    I've been Money Tipped!
    What a day! Tired now!
Spent the first half of the day up in Staffs still, then a long drive home through heavy and slow motorway traffic :( back to reality now

    1. Getting to take dd to the local forest center before going home, went on the 'Gruffalo's child' trail and had a quick play in the park

    2. A home cooked roast dinner made for us by my mum

    3. Driving home in tandem with DH and having someone to meet up with for a coffee at the services

    4. Getting home with enough time to get everything put away, washing in, dd fed and washed and in bed on time all ready for school tomorrow

    5. The last evening off before getting back to school runs and work tomorrow. Still, not long before the xmas break

Hope everyone has had a good day :)
