Not a massively MSE day today but I tried!
I'm having a half term break at my parents in Staffs with dd, DH joined us up here yesterday and doesn't really want to to the cheap or free stuff I normally do with dd up here :(
We had a day out in Birmingham, went to pr****k and sorted dd out for winter with stuff which will hopefully do next winter as well.
Anyway, I shall attempt some old style pleasures:
    1. Breakfast at 'home' as I thought to bring food with us so no sneaking out to buy brekkie.
    2. Using dh's bday gift card from mil for our lunch today
    3. Using the points on my Costa card to buy myself and dd a hot chocolate
    4. Dinner at 'home' as I bought food with me, no buying stuff just because or going out for dinner
    5. Going to the Black Country living museum tomorrow and found a 2 for 1 voucher online which will save £15 then booking dd ticket in advance online to save 10% off her ticket :T

    Here goes:
    1. Wendy Cope autobiography - pre-release copy, such an enjoyable pot-pourri.
She, like me, a big fan of Nigel Molesworth, The Curse of St Custard's, as any fule kno. From her I learned that his creator, Geoffrey Whillans, died before the last two Molesworth books were published, just after I was born.

    2. Just bought Molesworth, the collection of the Molesworth books, as my childhood copies never left home. I read enough Molesworth snippets in Wendy Cope's book to realise that my memory wasn't at fault, they really were brilliant.

    3. Trike is ready for collection, after £300 worth of repairs. Labour not charged for.

    4. Grandchildren over and what a joy, lots of fun and laughter - so no planned shopping trip, but not the day for it anyway. They and DD went home with lots of free goodies that manufacturers had sent me for review: lamp, books, bags, dog food, power packs, dog brush, plus a lovely pair of walking boots that were just a shade too tight for me but fit DGS who, at 12 in Nov, is the same shoe size.

    5. DD cut my hair for free, another £12 saved, for literally 5 minutes of work. Actually, it's usually 2 minutes spent cutting meaningfully at the hairdressers, but they faff around for ten minutes to make it look like I'm getting value for money. They were rumbled ages ago. I know how long it should take.

Not felt like posting this week when came in from work as ongoing issues aren't getting any better.

    1. My car passed its MOT.

    2. Foraged more chestnuts and have masses to freeze this year.

    3. Sorted out some books(need to do more) and taken them to the hospital league of friends.

    4. Taken lunch into work every day.

    5. Had good chat with a work collegue - she is having similar problems.

    6. Spent very little money in W8rose for weeks shop and had free coffee.

    7. House is still looking tidy.

    Avoid Evil.

Frith, now you remember to pick up my leather jacket and pay that hotel bill now. :heartpuls to poorlies and t'others. Cars passing MoTs, BoP aged 52 359/365 Remember Remember!!

Be careful that you do not become desensitised to violence, however dressed up it has become.

5 Can you fear me at the back rub? No this very morning, BoP could not understand why his purse, handkerchief was on the floor. Surely BoP was no way such distressed last eve that he stumbled across the vast emptiness on the way home. Now BoP was sure he plaiced the items safely as he always does on the shelf. Then BoP managed to catch site of the reason why his purse and things were strewn everywhere. Raffles, yeah, Raffles was lain across the shelf. Morning Raffles!

4 Now as you all know, BoP is not at the flats today, but connected, via wires and wizardry to the world and all viewing of the winding house, via the connectivity of the ethernot. So this means that Raffles, currently feasted on chicken and salmon chunks lays like a seal next to BoP. And he does take up half the table as well.

3 Last night was very good at the Club of the Camera. Good to see others enjoying their work and material. Of curse, they are on par with BoP as well.

2 Nite will be a film night in the BoP house of repute. Though anyone knocking the door will get very short shrift of BoP. And here is one BoP will watch soon.

The trike is back and he is going better than ever. The cycle shop didn't charge for labour; had he done so the bill would have been more than a new trike. I am overjoyed.
I forgot to get sweeties for Hallow'een callers so have to pop out on him again. This would have been a chore two weeks ago, now it's a joy.

    Good afternoon all !

Mcculloch -glad to hear that you have your trusty trike back !

Skintos - luv ya too x

PK - more change banked? I am impressed

Frith - have a lovely lovely time !

    5 for today

1, The yellow thing up in the sky has been turned up to high , so washed bedding.

2.Banked some change (not as much as you PK)

    3. Purchased a box of chocs and took it into the staff in my hairdressers , just because . Had hair cut too . My hairdresser passed away in May this year age 26 of cervical cancer :( I have a "new" hairdresser now and she too has had a nasty op.and is now recovering at home :(

    4. Two dogs (separately) taken to park and returned before 7.30 am . It was lovely seeing the autumn leaves in our lovely park.

    5. OH made a huge waterproof "dog pillow" which is in the boot , where the hounds now sit , as from today. He made it by using a manky old feather duvet of ours that he folded in half and covered in waterproof material and used the sewing machine to turn it into a huge pillow. They love it ! Cost = nil

Have a good Halloween all !

A very quick good morning, it's Saturday from me. Just about to head to work with not much notion but....needs must! Today and then ( out the goodness of my heart) tomorrow to work and that me for 5 woke days. Was supposed to finish today but offered to let boss have tomorrow off. She has her final uni assignment to hand in......it also means I get another days pay as I won't get paid when I'm off!

Sounds like it's just started to rain and we should start to cool down. It was 32o yesterday and at bedtime it was still 28o.

I had a nice day off, enjoyed a 2 hour conversation with my friend from home....we always have loads to talk about!

Then did grocery shop with DD1.... 'Twas a blooming fortune again! I'm sure that supermarket has doubled in price this year. Anyway, enough food to do us the week until I have to do it all over again!

We were ladies what lunched at local cafe, the nice girl that works there gave us a free cake! She leaves for the summer this weekend.

Home for a bit, DD1 went for her third exam and DS came in from his first one. Nice chat with the two of them.

Popped over to Salvos with a bag of stuff I don't wear / doesn't fit and then came back ....oops...with a dress for DD1 , half price and one for me that didn't have a ticket ( was brand new, still with tags) oh! Just have it for same as other one..$3( about £1.50!) okay! Also bought a photo frame and a necklace.

Made some Halloween cupcakes, icing does not like 32o heat. Took some over to boss house as we been invited to her daughter's school class h'ween party. It was being held at the country club of her housing estate...think very posh community centre! Kids all came in in fancy dress and then all stripped off into their swimming costumes and dived in the pool!
    How the other half live!

Home and DD1 was making chilli, we sat out in the garden, I had all my h'ween candles lit and we had a very nice dinner with rtc choc cake for pud.

Then bed and I've. Had a very good sleep! Usually doglet is up by now, so I will need to wake him as I need to head to work soon. At least road should be quiet to drive in.

Catch up later, we are going to see a bed for DD2 , I saw advertised in country club for sale. Sent a text to see if it was still for sale and arranged to go this afternoon after work.
