Get well NOW, Sparrer. (I have a school friend who has been profoundly deaf since just after birth so thought you'd got a new cochlear implant!)

sparrer hope you feel better soon and at least you know your symptoms and can hopefully stop it in it's tracks.
frith hope you and the boys have a fabulous holiday.

Well almost bedtime again but I have a day off tomorrow which I'm looking forward to .

I had a good day at work, had to drive , after walking up to the station to find out there were problems on the train line so rather than wait and be late and possibly have to wait at night, I walked back home and got the car and drove in and then had to move the blooming thing three times to avoid a fine, then stuck in traffic on way home...thinking all the time ...this is why I use the train! Anyway , I'm lucky I have the option of transport!

Gorgeous day and another one to follow tomorrow , hung out 4 loads of washing before I went out to work.

    Had fajitas for tea.

Had a nice chat with one of the girls I used to work with, I'd messaged her a couple of weeks ago to see if she was looking for shifts , so she'd got in touch, so had a chat about that and then more general chit chat , was nice to catch up.

Funny moment at traffic lights this morning, song on the radio was playing and I was swaying from side to side, car dancing when the lady in car in front started doing the same. We were obviously listening to the same station!

We are sitting watching Gardeners' World on iplayer ....how perfectly lovely! Couldn't tell you the last time I watched rubbishy Australian telly!

    Have a lovely day :)

    Morning

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. Another work from home day and think I may have caught up to a manageable level.
    2. Suited me to work from home as it was raining and I had a hairdressers appointment for the early evening. Badger streak gone. Also as walked past the library noticed that they have free wifi so if office is still out of action next week may work there as it will make me be a bit more disciplined in my work.
    3. DD must have been the day for it as I had the same soup for lunch and there was something very comforting about it.
    4. Made a big batch of tomato and red wine sauce for the freezer as was done to one small pot.
    5. Used some of the sauce for dinner of meatballs and pasta.

Off up north tonight so may not post for a couple of days as parents wifi can be a bit hit and miss.

Sparrer - Get well NOW and mutley
Frith - Have a great holiday with your lovely boys

5 Further coverage of BoP’s writings are available on line at did you panic dot con. Wimps. Now when I were a lad, fresh out the pod, and learnt to crawl across Suggitts Lane crossing, with shunting carriages as obstacles, there was no bovver when watching the Lightnings from Royal Air Force Station, Binbrook whistle past so fast, you saw them before you heard them, would only break the sound of the fog horn on most mornings, and that. Little Gran, would remark about the old camels and how she, single handily, prevented disaster more times then she could toss in the oven proper gingerbread. Now yous sees where BoP gets his delicate and tried and tested recipes from! As for the crossing at Suggitts Lane. No longer a dash in the romper suit across track after track after track after track after track after track after track, and fish trains and fish trains and carriages, but a single line, realigned for fast speed, for the all day express to Barton-upon Humber, where if you are of low mind, a bridge, toll to prevent people from Yorkshire getting across, to Kingston. Other, more respectable plaices are available. As for them recipes from Little Gran, BoP Old man nanna, are passed down and tested. See BoP notes passim.

4 And if you got your fingers blacked by reading the craploids this morning, I fear the excess and mall have got in to modus bullicki over some seat stick interface unit putting their kite into reheat mode and causing the magic thing that makes kites fly, fall off the trailing edge of the wing and cause some kind of sound disturbance in the lowlands of Kent. My Buck of face has reports now of this phenomena occurring from the outer reaches of the Hebrides, to the wet and windy coast of Wales, yet at the pans yesterday, as we were drying the salts, we heard nothing but the winding of the shaft and the birds. Radio silence declared.

3 Now as I mentioned the fish trains of yesteryear, how refreshing last evening to have non-Icelandic haddock cakes, encrusted in crumbs of bread, warmed, with a delicate chilli sauce for tea last night. And not only that, I managed to wolf mine down without interference from Raffles. Now this morn, Raffles, still confused over the later feeding times, was AWOL again. BoPsie was more than a little distraught, but he eventually homed and was given extra food by BoPsie. She is easily bamboozled by his winking eyes. And it is Thursday, day of Thor. Curry sauce, Curly Fries, Rice and Spring Roll.

2 Well, at the flats I has bin downgraded and a newer version of soft wear has been ably put on the putah. It has an auto align function. But I am afraid, it does not work. So please do not try it at home!

1 All in a days work.

I fear that the crumbs maybe fuelled with whisky ladies, so please be careful if I leave any from the cake! For recipe ideas see above. Closest cake in emporium so far spotted was assessed to weigh a meagre 3lb 10 oz, and cost £15. Don’t let the emporiums get your money and leave the evil things on the shelves. And in more excellent news, wicked witch in the west, who to Old man BoP for a ride, her T shares have not only fallen, but plummeted. What a shame! Nieces will be rejoicing that the CowPat inheritance has been shrunk! Hopefully to crumbs. Just in case those abound think that BoP is being a little unkind to his old mans second wife, mumsie BoP hated that woman! And did not want him to remarry when she died. Now that has put that straight.

Thanks all, I don't feel quite so yukky today, perhaps the yellow thing has something to do with it.

Frith No cochlear implants, but I have two nylon stapes after having otosclerosis in my twenties. I wore hearing aids for 10 years then ex-OH's company paid for me to have stapedectomies. I remember waking up after one op (they did them two years apart) and seeing a tray with my supper, an individual salmon mousse with dainty buttered brown bread triangles but was so dopey I went back to sleep. I never did get that supper! Pleased for your friend, it must make so much difference to her life.

Mutt's skin is looking a little less sore but after his bath he's dropping coat everywhere! As soon as I pick up the balls of fur the carpet is covered with them again. Instead of stroking him with my hand I'm doing it with his brush and now I'm wearing his coat.

Now I'm going to tackle that carpet shampooer, will be back later to report on progress - or non-progress if the last attempts are anything to go by. Why it just didn't come ready to use I've no idea.

Have a good rest of the day :)
  • Wonderfool. Voucher, online is a available giving BoP a massive £10 off a take away.

Problem is BoP has to spend £30, £10 more than average weekly shop, at a pizza place.

Head in hands. I thinks not. Deep pockets. Short arms.

Hello from Paris! Writing from phone so apologies for typos.

    1) being chauffered to station by dad therefore arrived so early we had sausage sandwiches!

    2) lots of trains for smaller son. We reserved table seats and the 4th seat had another boy equally as obsessed who told us what models they all were. Saw some deer out the window.

    3) Harry Potter shop at kings cross and sons being very quiet showing their passports and getting bags xrayed! Smooth journey to Paris.

    4) finding the hotel thanks to the three people I had to ask for directions in some pretty ropey French.

    5) having an evening walk where sons liked all the motorbikes, steam ducts, taxis with green lights when empty and the large nutella jars for sale.

    6) its so hot! 21 degrees at 8pm and we've got the balcony door open.
