    Caution, BoPsie in Parish. Shhhhhhhhhhhhh!
  • Good afternoon all !

    Villagelife
    - lovely post . Nice and chilled. I too do not work on a Friday and from next week will finish at 12 on Thursdays , have reduced my hours to 26 per week - my choice :)

    5 for today

    1. Dipped hair with half a box Sparrer:)

    2. My hound was on the bed with me whilst hair was "cooking" and I heard a crash downstairs .OH was at work so not him. There were crumpets all over the floor and the container that the butter is kept in also on the floor as a cheeky cat had been in for some breakfast .. I did laugh , The hound dashed out wailing as it must have seen it disappearing over the fence. The cat was lucky.

    3. Took the hound out to a fairly unused local park . Hound a bit tetchy at less than pleasant male stranger in vacinity - (enough said. But been party to this type of crap since age 7, I am now 45 ! ) Pleasure = hound doing his job .

    4. Washing dried on line

    5. Fillet steak for tea -Yeah

have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

Hugs and sympathy to the ever-lovely ampersand.

    Well done Chickenopolis' hound! :T

    1) Lie-in this morning, until Isis decided that I'd slept for long enough and it was about time I got up and played with her. :rotfl:

    2) Did some more work on my ghost story - it's not brilliant, but I've got a couple of weeks to knock it into shape.

    3) Had whatever is the opposite of an NSD - an HSD? - but got some good bargains so I don't feel too guilty about buying things I need (and a bright yellow bag that I don't, but hey, it's yellow! :rotfl:)

    4) Grocery delivery ended in a conversation with the delivery driver:
    "Are you Mrs A***?"
    "No, I'm Miss P****"
    "Oh. Are you sure?" :rotfl:

    5) Looking forward to a naughty takeaway for dinner, just to finish off my spendy day.
Back after a very long break!

I had an HSD too but with bargains, so happy.

    1. The best bra I've bought in years was in Aldi again recently as a Specialbuy but I'd missed seeing it. However a few were left and reduced to half price. Including two in my size, which is quite a popular one, so I was really, really pleased.

    2. The run out for Hallow'een sweeties was not a waste of time as we got a caller, an overexcited tot in luminous cape who jumped up and down and spun round hollering "Tricotreat! Tricotreat!" She was the only one.

    3. Have just met Dr C's latest female friend and she is very nice.

    4. The Molesworth book has come. I have read two snippets and laughed like a drain at them. The first one was at the drawing of the skool dog, the second at one of Nigel's observations on masters.

    5. Parcel came whilst I was in the shower; the lovely delivery driver took the time to walk round the block to hide it at the back of the house and drop a card through to tell me.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

Third time lucky writing this! Bit of a spendy day so might struggle with 5 old style pleasures but will come up with a few.

    1. Went to Sainsbobs to get FIL some Staffs Oatcakes and came out with those plus a trifle bowl that I've been after for a year but couldn't find at a decent price, plus a real bargain of a my little pony convertible toy car for £5.99 that is normally £20! Would have liked to put it away for Xmas but couldn't as dd was with me. Still a brilliant bargain :o

    2. Took dd to our local wildlife trust place, spent an hour doing the trail and having a nice walk/play. Only cost £1 for the spooky trail sheet.

    3. Had a lunch visit in the hotel we got married in some 8.5 years ago for memories sake and to let dd see it. Still as lovely as ever and nice to go back to :)

    4. Having a night in with DH and DD which is a very rare occurrence as DH works every weekend, so this week has been a nice treat having us all together :T

Thankyou chicken, ccp[+Isis] and poopdeck bop - and chuckling at your last line skinto)))

    1. &'s early a.m. sparkly new day clean. How good that BIIIIIIIIG long hot Body Shop Moringa shower felt after previous 48 hrs.

    2. Killed a blowfly. HATE them: swatting is &'s Olympic sport. The mouches arrive from farm, lively and buzzing, or dopey and slow-droney circling loudly, like this one ...eyyyyyuuurrghhh!!! WHACK! SPLAT! Done! 200% job satisfaction rate.

    3. Better Banking than expected. Thanked A. for putting Natwest app on blackberry the other week. OK, all comms work fitfully at best in &land, but this app. has been a most useful marvel when & out and about.

    4. sparrer- hit the calenders in The Works this arvo, now up to £3 apiece, rather than 3 for £6 as we saw that day, but it's a bit of a long-time thing to send apt quirkies to various peeps/famberley.

    5. Ablution-!!!!!! in Lush; core & inviolate. Love the place, not the prices. Browse, sniff, some no-committment handling........and out. Always good to go in though - a definite osp, which was no excuse for a sudden bit of the other, in a closing down Pandora Jewellery shop, around adjacent corner, never before noticed, much less entered. 80% off lots, tiny shop heaving[surprised?] Some[their old stock - 11 years!] things for Spits, 2 gifts, sth for self- silver earrings: one reads 'you', the other 'me'. & likes and Mr Soddit spoke in my shell-like........
A word re: both assistants, attractive young woman and late-30's man - remarkable patience, poise, good humour, good nature, all under intense fire.

    6. Hard to fathom - not a single snork corpse to be found in either igloo???and Raffes unsighted in this parish. Can't understand it, but it meant bolt-on errand post-banking, so tritty-trot to petite emporium, where genuine pig wares were purchased, aided by free 'ccino. 2nd-helped self to 4 lovely £4.99 pots of basil, cinnamon and majestic var., rtc before &'s very eyes to 49p.

    7. Martin O'Brien's 'Children of War' has not advanced 1 page since it was announced in Tuesday osps[not a free moment], so pleasure was sitting with w8rs beverage and reading, whiling away bus wait on this npd day and now au lit to finish.

    8. Just did 2 choc sponge trifles, with pretty much the last h-g raspberries[cream piping later] and prepped Fen Piggies' Sossidge For Pastry+Rolling. Vicar's 'Families at 5' has its 2nd run out tomorrow. Hoping that same numbers at least show their faces.

My thoughts are with and for you ampersand
Skint my utilities have also gone down to £59 a month, how frugal we are :D
If you're talking about who I'm thinking BoP I have to apologise for gloating. They were well overdue their comeuppance. I haven't set foot in one of their stores for years, nor will I :p
    chicken your No.1 :T

    1. Made an apple and plum crumble to take to friends for pud
    2. Postie brought the third bracket, which was missing when I opened the curtain pole pack. Now I can get the curtains up and might get back into my own room at last. It's been a good exercise sleeping in the guest room though, helped me see if there was anything 'missing' for visitors. There isn't, pleased about that.
    3. Lunch with friends, two of whom I'd not seen for more than a year. A beautiful roast dinner all perfectly cooked. Haven't needed to eat since I got home
    4. The five of us, and one extra who couldn't make lunch, have booked a weekend away and got a discount for booking 3 rooms
    5. One friend made a big tin of Rocky Road, 4 pieces which are in my freezer

    Sweet dreams :)

    1. DD and I went to see fabulous fireworks tonight :)

    2. We bought a scrumptious punnet of organic raspberries from MrW's for the bargain price of 10p :)..........and a couple of freddo's with popping candy and a bag of shallots, also at 10p came home too!

    3. Just realised that DD has left her "Ron Weesley"-style wand in my room, bless her. A stick with a bit of sellotape to hold it together, and my little cherub is happy :)

    4. Amazingly delish sweet potato and chickpea curry for dinner tonight, nomnom.

Will have to save one for tomorrow.
