Good morning!
For yesterday:

-took out the recycling tins, paper, veggie peelings (x3 containers) and glass.I also picked up a few empty cans littering the path and garden.
-an unexpected nsd - always nice.
-did some mending. The zip fastener came off the toilet bag I use for swimming, but I managed to fix it back on securely.
-went swimming in the evening despite the raging storm (and I managed to miss the downpour).I was feeling a bit knackered,so almost backed out,but felt miles better once in the pool.It was quiet too.The backstroke was the best;such a great stretch.0 -

I do envy you -I'd love to have chickens, but I live in a second-floor flat,so it's not likely to happen.
We've got a bit of sun here too,between the showers.0 -

OS Pleasures recently
Sons demanded a library run, then got embarrassed when I made them ask their questions directly to the librarians! Happy outcomes & chuckles that one desired book currently in jail...
Found the big bottle of washing up liquid. Hearing my grief & rage having broken three Denby pots in the hunt, my family were both supportive & even volunteered to do some washing up!
Scout training! As the classroom is over the trading post, I look forward to choosing another patch badge for my camp blanket.
Stunning time at Leeds Armouries when an 'interpreter', having 'done' the history, weaponry & tactical territory (& marched through Tennyson), then doffed the Light Brigade natty uniform to reveal a ragged shirt & laid into Kipling's Last of the Light Brigade with a power & a scorn & a glory. Very few stand up historians can do poetry - he let the words find their targets.
A toy musket was "improved" & on demonstrating it, youngling promptly fired a rubber band into his chin...
One of our new Scouts started the night with a nervous stammer. End of the night, he was yelling & cheering clear & easy as the rest of us & his parents' faces were a real pleasure to see.
Guy Martin's expression when up in a Spitfire & bring introduced to a Messer!!!!!!!...
Chortling at the doctor's designer underwear visible as he folded over to inspect healing.
Wearing amber for an Open Evening. Event uncomfortable but bracelet reassuring. Does jewellery replace soft toys for reassurance over time?!
Two fer one at the Flu Clinic - my husband & I are both now Jabbed...
I'd forgotten how much fun "The Monster Mash" is!
Sudden flashback to structural report phrase (that dropped easily into family language) "sagging noggins"...
A godfather is sorting old photos & has sent over a few. Oh my baby bat! Five years later, you *have* grown into those ears.
Only wanted a couple of wooden handles but took the deal of the entire crate for a fiver. Then found more leather working tools that need a dab of restoration & new handles!
Little Beaver Scout telling the AGM about the 35mm film "used in the olden days"...
Startled exclamation from child using a tungsten carbide sanding block for the first time. Shock & awe!
Eavesdropping on family watching some bike stunt thing. They're not discussing the skill, but the weapons of choice, from a .303 to catapults...
Big hugs to all who need them, health & shotguns likewise, and may all employment happen with grace & courtesy.0 -
Oh. Riley!
Oh Lord me, Riley, let’s live this life. Choccies anyone?
Rant over!
5 Now most that I has wrotten in BoP’s guide to live the life, are really just chapter and verse. Now you does not need me to tell you that. Now, as I put the gremlins into & putah yesterday, as noted on this parish, I know how easy it is for all you lot to just collapse at the knee in awe. Rule of Putah, according to Chapter 5, verse 7. The Old Boy. ‘Turn this bloody answer phone off’ Message recorded when Dad BoP managed to get himself a putah, and then not understand how to use it. Was quite funny explaining a default setting to him, when to him, it was someone whom should be kicked out of their house for none payment. No problem, the putah did out live him! Oh, the message, he had rung so many times during the day, and could not understand why I had not answered. I was at work. Had BoPsie in stitches for weaks.
4 Such a stonking tea last night, with emporium reduced pork pie, so good and mature, that double helpings were had by one and all. All washed down with juice and salad. More than just 5 a day, but does not keep doctor away. Eat on!
3 On visit to emporium, saw them reducing items of evil. Now there is a calamity there, what punter idiot buys evil items, only for them to be out of date on their night of evil? Was pleased actually in a way that emporium not getting excess profit from evil!
2 Not at the salt flats today, working from home as per usual. Now, BoPsie is steaming, the Xmas pud, matured version. Matured just like the bacon on camp years ago, take the top two slices off, and the good was still there. And as BoP is still walking this earth, not a problem either. Last years did not exit February as it was far far far far far too good. Xmas cake today will get his jacket of whiskied marmalade, ruff cut with curd. Icing will take plaice on Monday next. Note to readers Brandy not used due to Frogs continuing to sell Exocets in 1982.
1 It is a fine thing to be honest, but it is also very important to be right. wc
Oh and the Xmas pud. Well Brewed and Steamed. Raffles, he is under the affluence. You no think I has too much Whisky in said Xmas items this season! neat your harts out emporiums, not as brewed and as flammable as BoP's. Party Time!0 -
Oh dear, radio silence is declared0

Pleasures pleasures pleasures there are pleasures to dig out.
1.For once I opened the gas and leccy bill and didn’t swear, lovely feeling, however I am miffed at the water company, £42 in “standing charges” feels excessive.
2. I do love to escape into my kindle away from the excessive swearing of commuters.
3. Finding a healthy version of what dh wanted for dinner turning his chips into boiled potato.
4. Being greeted by the animals as if I had been away for months0 -
Hello again, chicken!0

Good evening everyone :hello:
Getting sorted for our hol. This time tomorrow night we'll be in an airport hotel. Oh the glamour! That's before jetting off to the south of France - temperature is currently around the 20 mark. Not bad, not bad...
Pleasures for the day:
1) Done online grocery shopping, to be delivered the morning after our return from holiday. Had a £20 off voucher, which has been used! :j
2) Self-addressed envelope for Wimbleton ticket application done. My mum has been checking whether I've done it yet. I apply every year in the vague hope that I'll get Centre Court tickets for the Men's or Women's final... This year I got Court 3 tickets in the first week. Better than nothing though!
3) Visited Cath Kidston shop today. DH nearly wept when he saw the size. :rotfl:
4) More ironing done!
5) Phoned credit card company to tell them of my travel plans. Lovely chap called Mark from Brighton answered the phone. Doesn't take much to be chirpy and I really appreciate it when someone, even if they are following the script, is personable.
Right, got to pack my bag. :j :j
