Good evening everyone :hello:
Busy couple of days here. Or it seems that way. Yesterday we visited a local town which we've never actually stopped in *properly*. One of those places you pass through, but never stop. Suffice to say, we'll definitely be returning!
So, my pleasures:
1) Local town had an amazing art gallery. The sort of place that you have to double check the price, then realise there are more zeros on the end than you can possibly afford. Great stuff though - Matisse lithographs anyone? We were even given a cup of coffee as we perused the collection. DH decided that the gallery owner thought that we had "money"! :rotfl: We played the game and took great interest in a couple of items. We'd be back there if we had a win on the lottery.
2) Trip to P*zza Express in another local town with friends. They had a voucher, so we made the most of it!
3) Same friends, same night we went to see "A Most Wanted Man" at the cinema (little screen in local arts centre).
4) A trip to a large car accessories store to get a new rear number plate. Chap who served me was super helpful and lovely.
5) Second time lucky, my car passed its MOT because of number 4! Again, super lovely people at the place where I took it. Naturally, there's an advisory note... and they gave me the price (when I asked) of how much it would cost. My eyes didn't water too much when the chap gave me the price. Probably helped by the fact that my car had passed!
6) DH has made a massive vat of spice carrot chutney, which is now cooling in jars. There's one small jar, which I'll take with me to Dubai to give to my friend in Feb. I'm sure she'll appreciate it.
7) HM carrot soup is currently bubbling way on the hob, using home grown carrots. Will have to whizz it up in a minute. We use this recipe. Suitably simple for me!
8) Jamie Oliver's chicken stroganoff for supper from his Ministry of Food book. Delicious and quick.
Right, off to whizz up the soup.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

1. Woke to amazing weather, trees blowing always sideways, rain lashing the windows and bright sunshine appearing through the black clouds. Don't know if I've ever seen such a strange morning before but it was really quite stunning. I didn't go out today ampersand, other than to the washing line. That was quite far enough!
2. When it stopped raining I pegged two king sized valance sheets on the line, went to the sink to do the handwashing, and looked out of the window just as one of the sheets billowed up into the air, almost at roof height, and landed on the roof of a garage several houses along. I'm still chuckling about the sight of it now. Luckily it was hanging over the edge of the garage so I was able to pull it down while glancing around surreptitiously to make sure no-one saw me
3. Cleared up my basket of bags, four for the cs, one I'd been looking for for ages and found £8.02p, 5 pens and a Chinese coin charm between them.
4. Put the mutt and mogs worming tablets on the kitchen table, turned to the fridge to get their breakfast and turned back just in time to see fat boy Finn wolfing down all three . That cat will eat anything! Phoned the vet, he said it probably wouldn't do any damage, just give Finn a stomach ache and put him off his food for a while, (who is he kidding?) and to keep an eye on him for a day or two. I told him I'll be keeping an eye on all the food in the house from now on!
5. Nsd/npd, and the day ended up dry, calm and sunny. Thank goodness.
