Yesterday:
1) Watching 'my' fox playing tag with his litter-mate around the raised beds in my garden. :rotfl:
2) Living close enough to work that I could pop home at lunchtime when I realised I'd left my phone at home.
3) Which also meant an extra dose of Isis cuddles.
4) Went out for the pub quiz, having forgotten that it had been cancelled; luckily my team-mates had forgotten, too, so we had a couple of drinks before heading home for an early night.
5) And more Isis cuddles. I hate it when she has a recurrence of her occasional illness, but I love her super furry-purriness for the next few weeks!
And today:
1) Left home 5 minutes early which, thanks to the difference in traffic, meant I got to work 15 minutes earlier than normal, so no problems with parking.
2) A convocation of E-Type Jags in a city centre car park, on their way to Goodwood. :smileyhea
3) An appointment with a grump, unsympathetic optician was improved by being followed by a chat with a very nice saleswoman when the optician decided I need new glasses.
4) Eyeing up a steak fajita ready meal, then deciding it would be cheaper and probably tastier to buy some steak and some tortilla wraps and make my own. :money:
5) A lovely yellow thing-filled evening and the forecast of similar tomorrow, which will be perfect for my herb course.Back after a very long break!0 -
LIVE SCRABBLE. Please remember BoPsie is one gem off two on the bounce.
Round one 26 v27BoP leads. It will soon be a country mile. Close lead is tossing and turning. BoP leads by 4. 65 vs 69. BoP tails 74 vs 80. BoP pix up the X. In play next. Bring it on!
The X man cometh. BoP 139 vs 93. Get in. Could be all night, and good night soon! Form is momentary. Class is permanent. BoP leads 163 vs 103? BoPsie drops her rack for the second time this evening. Think the cork is too loose on the Australian whine! BoPsie lays out, now BoP only needs a T for TOLLGATE. Class is permanent. BoP is in orbit. BoP trails by 138 on 129!
BoP makes a MOVE. Leads on 283 vs 142. Foots off the gas. 306 vs 182. Swift laid on treble. Class is permanent. 360 vs 191.
Final racks inn play. Blanks have appeared at last. BoPsie could had bin boldly holding one for a while. BoP plays hs blank. Only possible 4 on count back. 220 vs BoP on 384. Think I could declare.
I regret to announce that BoP is collecting his own wobbleade this fine and enchanting evening. BoPsie remains, again, one win away from getting two on the pounce! Final score 390 vs 222. Count back not rehired tonight.0 -
Hello all:wave:
My 5 for yesterday were
1. Completed 1 month of not putting anything on credit card- debit or cash only
2. Cleared same card- will be only used for certain large purchases
3. Picked up a few YS items
4. Nice lunch time walk
5. Caught up on some of my readingNOT BUYING IT 2018!
Consumerism is.....buying things you don't need with money you don't have to impress people you don't know and probably wouldn't like even if you did know them.0 -
Sparrer - so, so happy for you xxxx
1. Have enjoyed virtually every second of my first week at schoolI didn't enjoy asking for quiet more than I would like to, but they soon realised that I follow up on my threats of taking away minutes of golden time....*cue evil cackle*
2. Was given a bar of choc
3. Was delighted that lots of the class took me up on my offer of 'extra homework' - I promise that I did impress on them that this was not in any way required and was just if they felt it would be helpful. I have a 'challenge box' full of maths and literacy games and bits and pieces and stuck some worksheets in there that I turned out not to need this week(Will earn some brownie points with some of the parents, I'm sure!)
4. Had to leave school early - at 6pm - when it was locked up, so got home before 7pm, woohoo!!!
5. DD showed me her amazing poster she's made for homework about Victorian chimney sweeps, lots of info. She shunned my idea of making it look old by rubbing charcoal on it though!
Time to stop procrastinating I guess and get on with planning.....0 -
1. Unable to concentrate on mundane housework today so when I started one job I got sidetracked and went on to another. Most of it got done in the end, though
2. NPD but not a NSD as I gave a donation toward the Manchester dogs home. Not too non OS as they do get tax thingy whatever-it's-called.
3. DNeighbour gave me some 'erbs from her garden, my next loaf will be garlic and herb. In exchange I gave her a bowl of cobnuts, and gathered more for my freezer
4. Had a super evening out with a friend yesterday, we started off at the gym and ended up eating toasted, buttered fruit loaf in their restaurant
5. Only two more sleeps before the big day. Must do me roots and me nails tomorrow, don't want my granddaughter to think her Grandma's a sloven
Sweet dreams
ETA bagpuss I empathise. I hope and pray your moment will come soon. God bless x0 -

Dog Day Saturday, here goes!
Knotted, like it DD. Shoulder, to lean on. Proper food Sparra. Our butter, still dated 11 April!
5 Dog Day Saturday starts with snorkers, toms, mushrooms, eggs bacon and toast. Washed down with orange juice and tea. Followed by jam, crusted with pips, blackcurrant style. With hot butter. Dog day Saturday!
4 Later we will have hot DOG rolls, with toe nailed on onions and toms for brunch. Dog day Saturday!
3 rite ups for it this day. BoPsie took a decent beating last night at live Scrabble. Is hard work for BoP to keep on doing it, but all adds to Dog day Saturday!
2 BoP truck is repaired, ready to roll on. Think me and BoPsie may pop out later to take in the air.
