DD so pleased you made your flight, even if you were a little red!
mhags you certainly deserved that sleep, some days I'm exhausted just reading your posts! Great that you get so much out of life though
& I've bought on the bay of e from time to time but don't have a sellers account. Pleased your puter is allowing you to post, even if it's a bit temperamental at the moment
1of3 a cuppa must be one of the very best OS pleasures ever!
1. Took several sacks of garden waste to the tip. Lovely men there took them up the steps and emptied them for me. They must be one of the most helpful crews anywhere, they're always happy and joking with each other and the 'customers'.
2. had an impromptu day with DD, a little shopping and a good lunch.
3. 17 y/o DGD2 has got a weekend jobafter applying to almost every shop and office in the small town where she lives for the past 6 months. I can't believe how much she's getting paid for 2x4 hour days, in comparison my first Saturday job earned me 6 shillings/30 pence a week which was a lot of money then, and it was in a toy shop so the owner and I had great fun 'testing' every new delivery of toys.
4. DGD2 is making some antimacassars for my new sofas in the same fabric as my curtains. They'll be very useful on the cream fabric
5. I'd arranged to go to Yorkshire toward the end of the month to visit some friends, little did we know when we organised the dates that they're moving into a rented property until their own house is finished but sadly won't be able to take the two cats. After a chat with them this morning it looks like I'll be fostering the cats indefinitely. I am so soft. It will be nice to have cats again though, and they're used to dogs so will, hopefully, soon settle down.

Phew dundee doll glad you made your flight! When DD2 and I were coming home in July, she read the flight to Melbourne at one terminal, so we dashed there....not our flight! Waaah! Mad dash back across airport, on airport train and ran for our lives....got it just in time for boarding...not quite as close a call as you though!
Anyway, it's Thursday evening, it's 6.15pm and still daylight...just! Streeeetching out the days. One more month and then clocks spring forward at start of October, it's lighter in the mornings too. Have been walking for train at 6.30am and sun is up.
Workety work was fine, kept busy and productive in the kitchen. I was back in my comfort zone of out the front for a while as I had to wait till veg order came in before I could do anymore in kitchen....have someone coming to see me on Monday about a cooks job and someone coming to see me tomorrow about a barista job.
Home at 2pm, not long to wait for a train and sat and read all your pleasures whilst I went home.
Quick tidy up, put bins out and pulled some weeds in back garden .
Had to go into next town to Centrelink ( like DSS/ tax office) ....bring your visa and passport.....so I did....have you got your birth certificates? Er no, did you tell me to bring them? No! So I shall have to go back another day!
Surely the fact I have a passport and a visa would mean we had verified birth certificates......different government department apparently! Anyway, I didn't have to wait too long to be seen and will be able to go back tomorrow and then we can apply for the equivalent of family allowance for DD2.
Left DDs at opticians, had popped in to make appointment and they could take DD2 there and then. She has worn glasses since she was 3 and always, always dithers about when choosing a new pair....anyway, I got back from Centrelink and she was looking and trying on different pairs and couldn't decide.....why don't you just keep the frames and just get new lenses? Okay! So that's what's we've done, saved a bit of money. She might be able to get a pair of prescription sunglasses. We have an annual allowance for eye care with our medical insurance. She only got these ones last December so they will be fine for a good while yet with new lenses in.
Had some food at food court whilst out, so don't need to make dinner which suits me just fine!
Received my cheque from UK tax office ...then had to spend $2.60 to post it to UK and hope my mum will kindly pay it into UK bank account for me!
The puppy breeder sent me a photo of our boy zonked in the afternoon sun ! We go and meet him on Saturday.....2 more sleeps!
That's about it, turned into a nice enough day, not warm but not too cold either. To be a nice weekend.0 -
kittikins hope you have a fabulous first day at school0

Celebrate Good Time.
Tut tut tut tut, come on! DfV is back, yippee! & and Friths. That is a BoP term, Tut tut tut tut tut tut. In fact, Hells Bells as well. Every picture! DD guess it 'appens when cherry picker Beardie plays about with kites. And oi as well, u is aloud only 5, got it? Jue. Welcomen to BoP. Now you wish you had ... KK polished satchel Nice! SYA. BoP has luminous tablets this week. Power punches. Jenny sends a :heartpuls Sparra, tips all round!
5 Apple for teacher. If you are reading this at School, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. And no, I is no at the Salt Mine either, so na na na na. Me is free!
4 Offs to Drs This morn I did trot. Luminous pills purschased. Chest again. Still keeps BoPsie rattling home. Also had a bad rash of plumbers bum today, not to BoPsie laughing!

Good evening,
Kittikins and house elf, I hope you can make it to the Mariposa campsite, it is a lovely place, incredibly friendly people and for Sardinia it is an amazing bargain! If you go, tell the ladies at the reception that I recommended you and give them my regards.
DfV almost finished kitchen? I wish! Today DH phoned the builder's mum, who is the project manager, to complain about the slow progress of the whole thing. I am past caring, just living day by day and trying to be away from the house as much as I can.
Anyway, here are my pleasures for today:
1. Still managing to eat sugar free and healthy, day 2 and already lost the bloat and some weight
2. Drove DD to do some shopping, she invited me to have a drink at starbux so I showed her how to get a small latte (£2.20) for the price of an espresso (£1.50). Ask for a very long espresso, in a ceramic cup, long with lots of hot water, then ask for the milk on a side in a small paper cup. You always get more milk that way. Drink a few sips of the long espresso then pour the milk in. If you want more milk just help yourself from the thermos jugs they keep near the sugar and tissues. It made her reflect, how an Americano (£1.95) is just an espresso with hot water, where you get charged £0.45 for half cup of hot water! Eye opener.
3. Drove to the tip with DS so another load of rubbish is cleared.
4. On the way back from the tip we stopped at the allotment and got a nice lot of veg, stocked up for a few days.
5. Nice dinner with DH, almost all the veg, except for a bit of YS spinach in the salad, was own production.
Good night. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
1. Busy, fun, have forgotten more names than I can remember, but my first day at school was great - and very long!
2. my colleague shared a scrummy fairy cake with me : )
3. i helped another colleague out by lending her my star of the week cushion
4. dd gave me a lovely good luck cuddle xxxxx
5. commute took just under 30 mins, yay0 -
Congratulations, Kittikins and here's to more good days!
Pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) 2.5 hours on the allotment just weeding! Also picked rhubarb, onions, a couple of turnips and some beetroot.
3) Cooked the new beetroot up and pickled it.
4) Bigger son went for a role playing night with my brother and brother in law.
5) Both sons had good days at school.
6) Made chicken chow mein for tea.
7) Watched DIY SOS.
A bit more mum news. I presumed I was making a mountain out of a molehill. I hadn't mentioned anything at all to sons (they were away for a week last time I saw mum and hadn't seen her properly for nearly a fortnight). Bigger son got in after the role playing tonight and said "What on earth is wrong with Grandma?" and that he doesn't want to go round again.
He didn't specify exactly what she had said apart from she asked them what they wanted to drink about 300 times and kept walking in and interrupting them. I asked if she had been grumpy with granddad and son said "Not worse than usual". :-/0 -
Morning
Have been away with work for a couple of days no where as exotic at DD, I got to go to Wakefield:D
Anyway pleasures for the last couple of days
1. 2 NSD as anything I bought will go on expenses. Including the lovely piece of cake I had in Pat Valerie. Naughty but very nice
2. Hotel was lovely as it always is. Lovely room overlooking a lake with lots of ducks and swans. Plus a super comfy bed, I don't always sleep that well in hotels but slept till 05:30 undisturbed.
3. The room also had a huge bath with nice toiletries so had a lovely soak in the bath and had a bit of a pampering session
4.Before I left on Wednesday cooked up dinner for OH and DD for Wednesday and Thursday. Also made up packed lunches and caught up on some ironing.
5. Call from DD at 06:30 yesterday morning while I was having a cup of tea in bed in hotel. She sounded really upset and it transpires that she had been knocked off her bike but the pleasure is she is fine just a bit of a sore arm - some scratches and bruising and she now knows why it is so important to wear her cycling helmet.
6. Course was bit really my area any more but still felt able to contribute as have been heavily involved in the past. Also got to catch up with some people I don't see very often and nice to know we all still shared the same say it like it is. Think they wanted to put us in the naughty corner.
7. Managed to catch a slightly earlier train home and even though didn't have a seat reservation got a seat.
8. Nice to be home in my own bed
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Welcome back from your trip tealady, the pampering and having fun with your colleagues sounds just like a work course should be if you have to go away for it
Frith your lotty sounds amazing, not surprised as you've worked so hard from the moment you got it. Pleased you're reaping the rewards of your labours
Pleased you had such a good first day Kittikins, I know what you mean re remembering names, I'm useless but always remember phone numbers. I think that comes from my 'call girl' days though
Good tip about the st*rbucks coffee Caterina, but ask for a black coffee and they reel off a list of types I've never heard of. Whatever happened to a black coffee?!
BoP hope you recover from your rather unpleasant-sounding ailmentssoon
oh dear mhags did I miss something? You're getting a new member of the family? How exciting, what 'brand' etc, etc? Sorry if you've already mentioned, I do catch up eventually!
1-5 Bag packed, got 5 outfits plus all the extras into a flight-sized case. Pretty good at this packing lark. Dog's bag packed, he knows he's going away because he saw, and smelled, the special treat bag which I always put in when he goes to stay with his Spaniel pal. New sat nav charged and at the ready (but will have to ask my friend, who I'm picking up, how it works as I haven't a clue!). Spending the weekend with friends in Hayling Island, we've taken over a holiday camp, a super place with room service, and will have our usual laugh a minute break. Also looking forward to visiting the best ice cream parlour I know, on the seafront, with over 50 varieties of ice cream plus gooey cakes, pastries, pies etc. We'll roll back home!
Have a good weekend everyone, take care and hope the sun shines for you0 -
Friday night and almost bedtime again as just one more early rise to go for working day number 6!
Busy day at work but very productive day at work. Glad to get out the door though! Made the most perfect cupcakes...I was ever so impressed with myself!
Train home. Full of soldiers, I asked one why and they had been collecting for an army charity in the city. Just googled it and it's Legacy which I think is a bit like ssafa in UK.
Beautiful afternoon after a very cold start. Cold again now but forecast to be nice over weekend.
Spent the rest of my afternoon, helping next door neighbour's daughters and SIL 's set up for tomorrow's garage sale. I came away with a free washing machine....mine is on it's last legs, this one's not new by any means but if mine goes we will have a back up. Have bought 2 leather armchairs which we will pick up on Sunday morning....let them have somewhere to sit over the weekend. And as I washed out the fridge / freezer I realised it was much bigger than the one we have....quick measurement check and a call to OH and we have a new to us FF for a fraction of the cost a new one would be.
I also came home with 2 bags of cleaning products, a gardening book, a lemon squeezer ( glass one , I've been after one for a while like it so chuffed with that! ) , some fertiliser for the veg patch and some citrus tree food all for free. The previous owner of our house was an artist, so I was given 2 beautiful hand painted cards that I will frame.
I had such a lovely couple of hours in their company, glad to have helped and it's been nice getting to know them past few months. Have to go round before the new lady moves in for lemons!
Took my darling (?) daughters out for tea. We were all ravenous, had lovely Thai food.
And that was my day...could have, should have went to Centrelink but enjoyed the fresh air and company more.
One more early start but shall drive and then only working until 10.30 am and going to see our puppy, so excited for that. Have a lovely day0
