OS Pleasures
Son out of hospital, grafted & clutching meds.
Making his bed. Almost with a pressurewasher & biohazard gear, but now it is as clean & infection free as any teenage boys room can be reasonably hoped to be. By one who keeps such a species, not perhaps his medic...
Lovely sunny day so got three loads on the line All at once & they are now all folded dry & ready to put away. (Or just to get into tomorrow.)
Got an email from West Stow offering some rare wheat seeds. Unlookedfor kindness from exalted research bods!
Sausage & red onions for breakfast - picked by & devoured appreciately by sons. (Washing up still to do, but pork & apple delicious!)
Big hugs to all who need them, effective medications likewise & gods it is good to have the gang back together! Many thanks for all kind wishes - They Work!0 -

Poorly peoples get well soon please!
A quite perfect day here( apart from the 5am start) only worked till 10.30am and was straight out the door.
Quick drive home, quick shower and change, hung a couple of loads of washing on the line, popped into next door to pay for our bargains.
Came away with a wee table that's just perfect for the back porch.
There was a wheelbarrow full of plants that we were offered, I said if it didn't sell then we would have it....have came home to find it in the back garden, plus some plant pots..all freebies. Thank you!
Then we had a most splendid drive through the Victorian countryside, it was such a gorgeous day and lots of rolling hills and fields full of lambs and the occasional llama ! We were going to meet our new pup.
He is just gorgeous....I know all puppies are but he's especially so! Have photos on FB if any regular posters want to PM me and have a peek.
So we just had lots of puppy snuggles and cuddles and took lots of photos,
Met his mum and dad who both seem lovely dogs. 3 more weeks until we bring him home,
Nice drive home ( about 2.5-3 hours away) , stopped at a cafe that used to be the general store over 100 years ago. Had a chat with owner who was a tad eccentric...they didn't take bank card only cash so we cobbled enough together to share a date and sultana scone!
Now sitting out on back porch , in the dark . It's cool but not freezing!
Our new to us fridge freezer holds double what the others did! OH was very impressed at the space! ( he also dealt with the dead mouse behind old one! Yikes. )
Looking forward to my one whole day off tomorrow , I need to move furniture in family room around tonight to make way for new chairs which we will get tomorrow morning.
Have a lovely Saturday whatever you're up to0 -
Stinky stinky cold. On the plus side
1) all three children home :T

3) dds and i have started a book on decorating ideas
4) ds has a flat share sorted. £50 a month less than last year and flattie unlikely to do midnight flit as his mum owns the flat
5) dad hs had his colonoscopy and nothing bad detected

Just in.
2 long posts lost in preceding days and putah abominations make rpts impossible.
All takes 9-10 times as long as it is. Jumping, dropped conncectivity a constant, slowslowslow-mo, white screen disappears, masses of missing letters, rolling text...the lot.
1. Tonight's wonderful talk on the architecture of our village Church in our village Church. Don't be put off. Fascinating, gripping and profoundly humbling. Also, even greater awareness of our fortune in being another generation drawn there, however once-only, or more-frequenty we might be. I'm a late-comer too. Heard an accent, newcomers, - yup, he NZ, she Oz...now settling in house they've perhaps had for some years. Words carefully chosen. They're early/mid-30's high fliers, but again carefully. modestly worded. NZ Govt + Oz Govt, last 6/7 years UN on behalf of both - now settling more permanently.
2. Just now hearing Kei has beaten Djoko...he'd taken the 1st set when I left:-))))))))))))))))))))))
3. Early bus to town/Bank to complete the closing 180deg of revolving door tfr, then back in time for...
4. ...nearish Church fête which I was late for. Started at 12noon, not 14h and &left poached eggs and salad for later. as soon as error discovered, near 12.30h.
Oh dear, a large box of No More Books, quite a number of garden and other tools[Spear and Jackson, vintage] useful and/or stock-worthy, quirky brocante-y bits and pieces..
5. Overheard mid-query by another customer in the Parent Arm of Emporium, was directed to:

[dd- your wool shop comment suggested another crisscross Scotsdales moment]
Had never heard of them. Found my way. Purchased some amazing Uruguayan kettle-dyed soft-hue rainbow-y wool! The lady who does the dying was there - marvellous to meet a shy, totally unprepossessing genius. Wound skein of wool into giant ball via steering wheel and gearstick. Used to feel very important being Nana's helper/arms for this job, age 3/4 onwards. Crochet infinity cowl scarf for friend's bday begun.
Enough - this has taken soooo long. arduous and not a pleasure.
Wanted to add special notes to kk graduation, pk!!! - recovery day today j'espère, and pk's also noting dd's no.7. Frith and sons and siblings and Mum....consider them sent.
Hugs and kettles and hwbs all round.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Sparrer have fun!
DfV good news about your DS!
Me for today:
1. Longish lie in and breakfast in bed, in spite of waking up super early, fell asleep again and woke up really well rested.
2. Good shopping trip to little local farmers market.
3. The dishwasher is now functioning!
4. Friends visit and fish & chips dinner
5. So lovely to go to my bed and get updated in my OS life in this forum, with a nice mug of camomile by my side!
Good night. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
1. My graduation ceremony was lovely, and meant so much more to me than my first one, all those years ago
2. DD was hyper but amazing (she met someone from my yukky first school and was very polite and charming - I pretty much knew she wouldn't say "oh that's where X and Y were horrible to you mummy, wasn't it?" but it was a blessed relief at the same time!)
3. I don't have many great, or indeed many photos, but I will have fabulous memories of looking over and seeing DD blowing me kisses and grinning at me pretty much for the whole time
4. Lots of my lovely tutors came up for a chat and to meet DD and my parents. Thankfully the ones I didn't like weren't there, so I didn't have to do the politeness thing myself
5. We went out for lunch afterwards; sadly to a not very nice place, but the company was great.
6. Got home to a lovely bouquet of flowers awaiting me on the doorstep from my bro.
7. Had a lovely afternoon nap! Much needed after all the excitement and having had to get up even earlier than I do on a school day to get the train to uni town!
8. I chose well for movie night, we all enjoyed a bit of Indy and his adventures!
9. I have my piece of paper that proves I'm a teacherCan't wait to go and start learning with and from the children on Monday!

Ampersand - my laptop doesn't like posting here either. Sometimes the return key doesn't work or the cursor moves back and I type over what I've already written. I find typing a sentence, posting, then editing sometimes helps.
Lovely news re: graduation, Kittikins and the new dog, MHagster. :-)
DfV - very pleased to read your son is home from hospital.
Pleasures for yesterday (I don't like writing the next day, can never remember properly!)
1) A lie in!!
2) Still poorly but got better as the day went on. Smaller son also on the mend but he had the worst hay fever in the afternoon that I have ever seen.
3) Tax credits letter came in the post so I was able to scan it and email it to the county council to see if I'll get a bit knocked off the very expensive school bus pass.
4) Took smaller son's Wii disk back to the tiny computer shop. He swapped it for a world wrestling disk and has certainly had his money's worth out of that one so far! (They sell second hand disks for a pound or two).
5) Went on the allotment and snapped off some leaves so the pumpkins will go orange. Cue horrible weals on my hands and arms!
6) Fish and chips from the van for tea.
7) Enjoyed Dr Who and Casualty.
Must get ready for heritage open days and a geocaching meet up this afternoon.0
