Today I have:
Woken early and phoned a friend.
Enjoyed a bowl of cornflakes ( I'm not really a breakfasty person )
Had a good and productive day at work....had to have a 'chat' with a colleague...think it went okay....finished on a positive note!
Had such a laugh....we have a very rude customer who is in every day and every day is very rude....anyway, one of our other guys was in, we have a good rapport with him and he made some very accurate comments about Rude Man...without even knowing him , which had us in stitches of laughter and then funnily, our next customer , another regular , came in and made comment about him....cue more laughing! There is really no need for him to be as ignorant and rude as he is to us....I just smile sweetly!
Home with yet more blooming bread! Have changed the bread order at work....hoping that makes a difference to what's left over....I'm sure other passengers on the train must say ' oh there's sandwich lady coming!'when I get on!
Journey home with lady from next shop, we have a good blether!
It's just getting dark at 6.15pm and has had an almost spring like feel today , which is most welcome, it feels like it's been such a long winter here. I know I will be moaning and groaning about the heat before too long but ready for some warmth!
Just had a left over chicken and mushroom pie from work for tea.
I am starting extra early tomorrow ....as I am nice and I'm finishing at 1pm anyway, I'm letting my main colleague come in at 9am and I will go in at 7am ( that way I can take car and park for free....there is method in my kindness! )
Have a fabulous Thursday...off to to a bit of tidying, you could practically stir the kitchen!0 -
Morning
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. Toilet got fixed at work yesterday so didn't have to walk 10 minutes to find the nearest loo. That would be that legs crossed funny walk that I did the day before.
2. Had a microwave delivered to the office, yeah now means I can have leftovers and HM soups for lunch. I get so bored with sandwiches so hoping this will mean I keep up the bringing lunch to work with me.
3.Hair cut and coloured yesterday so can now see and the badger look has gone.
4. Got to the bus stop at the same time as DD so got the bus home together.
5. Quick easy dinner of pasta bolognaise using more of my HM tomato sauce. Also got packed lunches sorted for today and roasted a chicken to use up in various meals over the next couple of days.
Sneaking one in early for today - DD has passed her resit GCSE Maths with a C. I know to some this may not seem much but for her it is such an achievement. We were told a few years ago that she probably would not pass any exams but she is certainly racking them up with 6 GCSE's at grade C and above and her professional qualification which is the equivalent of 3 A levels. I am a very very proud mummy.0 -
Congratulations Miss Tealady and to everyone getting their results - no matter what the piece of paper says, remember it's for you, not for your school's results table. You're all A*s

I, the acting Paymaster General
5 Yous knows that room without glass where I escaped the last day. Today it is my turn, so we are having the iggy Ibbotson moment. There be no problem with the soup, all of them are getting some. Soup terrine thrown, all hands hit. Now if you are going to make an entrance, make sure that others notice your presence.
4 Now I as yers attention, last night, BoPsie did pork pie salad, all part of the non foam, no crab diet. Now I again am often stopped in the streets by people so amazed at my complex. I just say that the little fairy thing on the bottle does some of it, but the magic bits, well I could tell you all, but I am now so good, I will charge for this kind of gossip. Books, and creams available on my Buck of Face pages.
3 Chauffeured all day yesterday, and about time. Car share across swing bridge and BoPsie drove me there and back again.
2 Any how, played BoPsie at Scrabble last eve, and BoPsie was in the lead all the way, she even slammed down a seven letterer at the start, TERRINE! That was until of curse, the tile count back. Victory again for BoP, 307 vs 305. Three tiles in her hand led to a stunning win, and BoPsie again remains one win away from being with a chance of two on the bounce.
1 Again, I must say, the yellow thing is booked for tomorrow. Now that will teach, get it, teach some of yous lot a lesson for having so much time on your hands!0 -
1. Enjoyed my stroll up and down the village to take DD to her tennis lessons.
2. For the first time in AGES, Reverbe'd 1p - and promptly gave it to DD so that my luck would never end
3. Returned some boots that didn't look right, looking forward to the refund!
4. Bought two gorgeous pairs of silver earrings on ebay, under £1 a pair....just wonder how long they'll take to arrive from HKong!
5. Listening to Carnivale des animaux. Good ole ytube!
6. Lots of lovely cuddles with DD this morning.
7. Was complimented on my weight loss and my choice of outfit today (only by mummykins, but a compliment's a compliment!)
8. My friends' children have all got the GCSE grades they needed to go on to their first choices, phew!0 -
Not long in and I'm cold. Nightie, bed, books, thermos, SIZE="1"]hidden choc, written très tiny[/SIZEso no-one can see it 'cept moi and crochet to plod on with.
1. Another 700gms framboises, mostly biggies, in the freezer.
2. Early Church which I felt need of. I never forget Daniel Pearl and now there's another. Son of parishioner has just returned to that area, his 3rd time, missionary Dr and it feels edgy to 'know' someone there. I know these words sit wrongly in this Thread, but any awareness, even just in the one moment you read this, is surely well bedded, if virtually, among good people. C&N then spoke of this chap, well-known to them, occasional visitor to our area:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_White_(priest)[for some reason, stuc on him doesn't immediately surface, so enter/refine]:
The Reverend Canon Andrew White Hon PhD (born 1964) is vicar of St George's Church, Baghdad, the only Anglican church in Iraq.
He won't leave either, loves the people, fully accepts that his life may be ended by some amongst them.
3. Supplied h-g gas/leccie readings to avoid 'Estimated Bill', that never out-of-print House of Tryiton best-seller. Thus, £100 and £200 chqs for excess due back to & in time for Sept car tax. AND reduced s/o's by £2 wkly each respectively. Should still be fine.
-3[a] Signed good young girl A@ utility co. up to mse wkly:-) She was v.keen.
4. In Pollyanna attempt to offset constant chilly wind atm, I'll express liking seeing my big rainbow windmill spin fast and furioso outside, bought ex-Scotsdales when Tour de France shot past on 7 juillet.
5. 5 books back to Library, 3 out[thankyou again to online reservation system - excellent]BUT 2 more No More Books acquired via G.David, Antiquarian Booksellers, therefore a draw, as with ABs last Saturday. In gear for Eden Park AND Stade Mayol this w/e - international broom test........:-)
6. Agree with you re: reverbes, kk. Thought exactly that with 2 x 1p pick-ups today.
7. Just as well I grazed mine c.16h today. For how much longer, je me demande:
http://www.theguardian.com/money/2014/aug/21/john-lewis-scales-back-on-rewards
Ooh, I just see, off to the side, Martin's team have sounded the alert too
After a John Lewis loyalty card? Its free tea and cake offer's no longer guaranteed'
8. R has received dvd double as & ordered and mostly paid:-) Up your street bop? -The Invasion Quartet and Don't Panic Chaps.
Also thought of you in 2 connections today sparrer:

[our sparrer leads the way in SparrerShire]
-and when lady needed replacement directions for PO, then bus to Sparrershire. She'd fortunately felt uneasy about instructions given beforehand. Just as well. All completely wrong. Somewhere in West Country by now, if followed.
Good reading of all around you right now and forthcoming evnts.
Frith - table tennis tables have sprung up all over Cbs too and a deffo. agree re: Marcus B, whose star rather fell to earth when dalliance was revealed just as he spoke words of 'family, heart of all, centre of life' stuff[I heard it]...ah well. HE is still a pretty feisty, very clever comedian, feet of clay humanoid.
tealady - wrote Congrats to your dd. but managed to wipe them I now see. Here they are back again, with extra biccies of choice. A happy daughter following her heart's choice and natural vocation is a wonderful result.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

1. new to me car broke down as I set off oop norf on holidaybut thanks to purchased warranty it was fixed in a day and I set off following morning
2. lovely to see DP's for a few days
3. then off to scarboro for a week with Dsis and BinL and DNephew (age 7). Weather was good apart from sunday of the "big storm" forcast. Had a great week
4. drove back to Dp's during "the big storm" which ended up being a bit of a damp squib thankfully just lots of rain and surface water. Big queue at York as usual but apart from that journey uneventful and not a precarious as expected
5. out sunday eve for meal with family to celebrate Dniece birthday
6. safe journey home again.... about 5 hours sparrer and only stopped once ...BUT cautionary tale to follow.....
7. happened to look at DS paperwork for car and spotted MOT ran out a few days previous :eek:. Gave him a ticking off and car booked in next morning and passed first time .... thankful nothing happened in those few days
8. Went back to work but suddenly taken ill with chest pains, visit to A&E with suspected blood clot on lung  ... flagged by warning signs following 5 hour drive on journey back and only 1 toilet stop ..... berating myself for not stopping more ..... thankfully blood tests and xray clear. Next day upset stomach and vomiting (sorry TMI) Phone call from hospital recalled for chest scan..... then final diagnosis (cost o chon dri tis) following viral infection (have had sore throat for 3 weeks)
Throat now very sore and I am also spraying - ampers you have my sympathy - its a blessed relief as painkillers not working and can barely eat. Lots of lying around and sleeping. However have lots to be thankful for so don't want to appear feeling sorry for myself. Am feeling a little better this evening.

Ampersand - I'm changing suppliers using Martin's club (electricity, no gas main for miles) but I do find the whole thing boring! I know Scottish Power owe me £100 or more but don't know how to go about getting it or how to check how the move to a new supplier is going. I need to sort it out properly.
Tealady - well done to miss Tealady! (I was very relieved to get my C in maths!)
Pleasures for today:
1) A lie in! Sons slept for 12 hours following our Notts trip. :-D
2) Had a bit of a tidy up. 3rd load of washing on.
3) Shoe shopping. Due to humungous width fittings, we have to get "proper" shoes. Bigger son now 7.5H so bigger feet than me. 2 pairs of shoes and some trainers (also have to get "proper" trainers for the width!!!) I didn't need that £100+........
4) So that was sons done and I popped to Sports Direct for some new, sensible priced trainers for me! And very comfy they are too.
5) Quick trip round Sainsburys.
6) Sons very excited indeed about our holiday tomorrow. :-) Lots of packing has been done.
7) Enjoyed watching Who Do You Think You Are? Mcculloch's neck of the roads, I think.
Just seen your post, Skint. How very nasty - get well NOW!0 -
Skint - after posting, I went looking to see how long you'd been gone! Just as well you heard me clattering about and came indoors:-)
Crikey! re chest/throat/scan etc. - I've been oomphless for a couple of weeks now and the initial biz just isn't going. Have had similar symtpoms and set out to no-nonsense+redouble efforts/workrate/List of Stuff To Do, to get rid. It isn't working.
You've given me pause for thought.

Frith - I've been heads-upped by the mse ESC too, but also am staying with ebico. I just rang SSE on a SayNoTo0870 no and asked for balance after current readings bill and made my adjustments from there, on phone. I've bullet-pointed a timeline, so will rattle cages in a fortnight if postie doesn't render 2 chqs.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Good evening,
Kittikins, I find it so amusing that we are all still saying we "Reverbe" when we find a coin! Where is Reverbe, does anyone know, still posting on the forum?
Here are mine for today:
1. Nice babysit (paid for DH bootcamp in kind), lovely little girls
2. Pleasant walk to the allotment and back in gorgeous weather
3. Laundry done at the girls' house while out with them, then dried outdoors
4. Very special fancy bread bought YSd in W8rose, stocked up freezer
5. Pleasant evening and meal out with friend.
Good night. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
