    Errrm, well, tonight butterfly,
I have been making number arrow cards as there are none in the maths cupboard and none in my classroom :( I'm trying to put displays up in the classroom, do class lists, get some assessment stuff ready so that I'm not in too much of a flap during my first week, when I want to get to know the cherubs and feel organised with their lessons.

I've only been in school for 4 days, some of the other teachers I've chatted to have been in for a fortnight! (Yup, we're all the newly qualifieds....bet next year we'll be miles away and will get it all done in the first term instead ;) !)

    NOT BUYING IT 2018!

Consumerism is.....buying things you don't need with money you don't have to impress people you don't know and probably wouldn't like even if you did know them.

Ampersand - I might listen to Dead Ringers just now, then. I meant to write a few days back that I had never rated Marcus Brigstock particularly highly but his "Brig Society" on drugs was fascinating and worth a listen.

A very busy day today! Here are my/sons' pleasures:

    1) Didn't have to get up TOO early (therefore taking advantage of off peak rail fares!)

    2) Got to station and printed out tickets in the nick of time.

    3) Straightforward train journey to Nottingham.

    4) Good old Anchor Army surplus! http://www.anchorsupplies.com/
So many goodies for sons. Bigger son got a tiny cooker (looks like it runs on bits of firelighter), an old bullet and something else that I've forgotten. Smaller son got a helmet.

    5) Bus up to University which is a novelty for us as there aren't any round here and sons don't go to school by bus.

    6) Saw my old house.

    7) Went boating on the lake. :-) All had a go at rowing.

    8) Sons had an ice cream and we found a geocache.

    9) An all weather table tennis table has been set up by the lake so we had a go on that.

    10) Walked to my old flat. Bigger son noticed that some new and ornamental trees were nearly being cut in half by the ties holding them to some stakes. (Obviously not been checked since being planted) so out came the Swiss Champ penknife and a few trees were released.

    11) Had tea at a noodle bar place.

    12) More table tennis tables by the Council House! Another game then another geocache. We liked the trams (also new since our last visit).

    Tired now!

Kittikins, I'm a teacher too and totally get the spending what feels like all of your time on making resources and the like!

So here goes some of my pleasures for Wednesday.

    1. If I'm guessing correctly... NSDD means No Spend Day. If it does... I've had a NSD. :D

    2. I went to the gym again today. Getting back in to it slowly. I will shed some pounds and get a bit fitter. It's all about determination and making myself believe that although I'm not where I want to be each day I am getting that little bit closer.

    3. The pup is definitely more of himself today after his op yesterday. The being dopey and confused has worn off.

    4. Found Cruel Intentions on the t.v. I don't know what it is about this film. It's a tad weird. But always been one of my favourites.

    5. I did a spot of gardening today - not much, just picking off the dead bits. But it looks tonnes better now.

Thank you for the hugs and kind thoughts.
Welcome to all the newbies, looking forward to reading more of your 5's

    1. Got home from oop norf in 4 1/4 hours, only stopped once to walk the dog
    2. Lovely little car returned 58 mpg! I didn't, as DD suggested, tootle along at 45mph like Miss Daisy, not one lorry overtook me :D
    3. Unpacked, washing done ready to hang out in the morning
    4. A friend has booked tickets for us to see Hairspray at the theatre on Saturday
    5. Same friend and another have arranged to take me to the coast for the weekend of the 5th.
    6. Counting my blessings, had a wonderful time with DS and his family as did the dog who was also thoroughly spoiled, looking forward to a day out with DD and perhaps DGD2 tomorrow and some amazing friends arranging treats to look forward to. And the yellow thing was in and out - mostly out - all day :)

    Sweet dreams :)
