Hello, it's Sunday evening here , it's been a cold day but has stayed dry.
Yesterday I started the day with a lovely phone call with a friend from home.
Saturday toast and mooch through the papers.
Then OH and I went to a memorial service for my colleague who died. It took place in a Hindu ashram and was certainly different to anything I've experienced before. The setting was beautiful and very tranquil.
Quick stop at beach on way home. Blooming chilly!
DD2's school production, she is her own worst critic as it was excellent but blooming chilly!
Today was back to work and we were very busy.
No one else on the road this morning when I drove in....blooming chilly!
Nice drive home.
Went out with DD2 and OH and shared a bowl of potato wedges and dips.
Popped into aldi for a few bits and then drove home to discover I'd left my purse in aldi so we had to drive all the way back and thank goodness it was still there.
Phone calls to SIl and my mum.
Masterchef
Normally I would have an early start on a Monday but don't have to start until later which suits me just fine. It means I'm closing next 3 days but that's okay as it's just 3 days to work!
I need to start writing some lists as I have so much to do before I go my holidays : Medical appointments, prescriptions, bills to pay, cases to pack.
Have a lovely Sunday0 -
2 x critical windows errors and blue screen warnings later ..... I have managed to get online so shall try to be quick:
McC sorry to hear news about yr break in not covered by insurance. I must admit I have my doors locked all the time - even if I'm just popping upstairs I shut all my windows too since my neighbour went upstairs and someone walked in the back door, took her handbag and walked round the front of the house and drove off in her car ! There are some real barstewards around :-(
Frith - love the word "strawboffee" :-)
Pleasures:
1. Friday we had conference in hotel. Not a pleasure in itself as not very swish and no hospitality or break for lunch 11.30 - 2.00 but then finished early and went home
2. lovely weather lots of washing done and dried on line
3. DP's have come back off their 2 week holiday so had a long chat with them.
4. Told them about my car woes and they offered to lend me the money interest free.... YAY!! Phoned the bank and I had until Monday to pay off the loan without any interest or penaties - so managed to get it all done Friday ... saving about 1K ... YAY!! (smilies still not working for me)
5. Free meal !
Went out to lunch Saturday with a friend. We went to Toby and had refillable coke for £2.45 and sat outside chatting all afternoon and getting free refills. Then we decided to have carvery for tea as it smelled so good .... big mistake. I had beef and it was very fatty and had gristle and veins/tubes in it (sorry if TMI) the yorkshire pudding was so tough I could not cut it ! and there was no crackling !!! My friend had meat free - but the roast potatoes were hard or black - we complained and did not have to pay for either meal despite having eaten some of it0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

And another pleasure. I know, cos I lick it!
BoPsie made the Chocolate Mousse today, and we shared it equally out. Now I went in the bowl thirst, so grabbed a good load and the raspberries, home grown, as well. BoPsie went second, and sploooshed her just desserts. The bowl sat in the centre of the table for what seemed an age.
Now if BoP had gone last, the bowl would had been eaten with the big spoon, but BoPsie, she is of weak legs and things like that. In one grab as I finished thirst, I grabbed the serving bowl and licked it out, and the spoon as well.
Thinks, next week it will be difrerent!0 -
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) NSD and NPD, for the first time in too long.
3) Took advantage of the nice weather, and Isis' continued reluctance to venture out of the wardrobe, to wash and disinfect the litter tray.
4) A nice bottle of wobbleade, won in a pub quiz, while watching the football.
5) Made a big batch of HM coleslaw, which tastes pretty good if I do say so myself.Back after a very long break!0 -
Achieved not a lot today, mooched about and watched bad films, admired then weeded the garden, while DH flitted from one project to another building bits and pieces, quite the inventor.
1.I jumped out of my skin when I realised what the time was and we woke up, we were distracted to a very late night by watching a really naff but so bad it was good and had to be watched Freeview film called “Machete” it was ridiculous, it’s times like this I realise my dear mum de sensitized me to the horror films with her love of them. I have got to watch the sequel, now tagged on Ilovefilm.
2.Felt decadent flicking the air con on.
3.Fresh strawberries cut up, meringue squished with cream definitely a mess not so sure about the “eton” part.
4. Cold dinner, ham, boiled egg, and salad RTC of course, coupled left over special rice not so rtc.
5. Worked my round the garden weeding and the animals we are looking after for friends followed me round and literally dug where I needed them to, handy garden helpers.0 -
My pleasures for today:
1) A lie in.
2) The Archers - what was Roy thinking?!
3) Porridge and strawberries for breakfast.
4) Brother unexpectedly got some Wimbledon tickets for tomorrow so will be looking our for him and my mum on tv.
5) Did various unpleasant jobs such as cleaning the bin out.
6) Tasty tea of cous cous, pepper, avocado and sliced chicken. Then fried up some apricots in butter and brown sugar for pudding.
7) Casualty on later.
8) Sons are having an evening out at ex mother in law's 80th birthday party.0 -
pk - you sound chirpier, so hope that means the bad famberley vibes have vanished into the ether. You had just the right-sounding sort of day for yesterday's bleughhh, so Good Girl.
As you all now realise, I dropped in on bop and Lady bopsie to supervise The Choc Mousse Scrabble and I am sorry to report that bop was given a Straight Red for Unsporting Implement.
You can see for yourselves what happened when my decision was made known: Almighty Stomp-Off with Dudgeons High, incurring further penalty for Abandoning Scene of Wobbleade Endangering Public Safety.
[Man Cave arson still under investigation]
I'm afraid this matter is so serious that Pleasures are postponed until tmrw.

Isis looks gorgeous!
My pleasures for today:
1) Reading my book! Fantastic to have time to do so.
2) My parents invited DH and I for lunch. DH was in charge of playing ball with the dog! I was in charge of ooohing and aaaahing over the photos from their holiday.
3) Planning finished!
4) Loads of strawberries from the garden. DH is doing an excellent job of keeping on top of them. We seem to have a crop most days at the mo.
5) DH is ironing! Not looking a gift horse in the mouth as the ironing pile is massive. :whistle:Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0
